My Sunday Photo... The Christmas Aga

I can't believe that I haven't written a post since last Sunday... and here we are again!
So soon...

We have visitors at the moment, so Christmas has begun in our household.
Unfortunately, the weather has been so grey and dark recently, that I haven't been able to take any decent photographs.
(Roll on the 21st December I say... when we can say we're heading into the lighter nights!)
I thought I'd show you where all the action will be taking place... the Christmas Aga will be working overtime for sure!
But there are so many other uses for the Aga along with the obvious one of cooking,
Here's one for example... Dog drying!
It works a treat just so long as you cover the hot plates... I think Muffy loves this part the best.
She needs to have her paws and tummy washed after her morning walk at the moment, but she doesn't seem to mind.
I think she just adores the warm water and then the coziest best seat in the house!
(I'm linking up with Darren as usual over at My Sunday Photo)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I really will try harder to write and take more photos during this coming week.
Thanks for stopping by... I hope to see you again soon
xoxo

  3. It really does feel like Christmas is almost upon us, doesn't it? Not least because of the biblical wind and rain we have had at times over the past week or so!

    1. I hope you haven't fell victim to the floods. Some of the news footage is horrendous and my heart goes out to families and homes which have been affected. I had to embrace Christmas over the weekend because we had visitors but at least I'm feeling festive at last.
      Enjoy!

    1. It certainly makes life easy with the constant heat and two ovens available (although I have another electric which is equally as useful)
Enjoy your Christmas preparations... have fun!

    1. When she arrives home after her walk at this time of the year she's very keen to have her paw spa... because she knows she's in for a treat sitting all warm and cozy on the Aga after to dry out.
I can't leave her there because she settles down for snoozes plus even with the towels to protect her... it can still be toasty!

    1. That little face has been playing me like a fiddle for nearly 12 years Jayne. She knows she's cute and she uses it to the max.
We are so lucky because we are in the country, surrounded by woods, farmland and fields... so an Aga fits in perfectly.
Have a great week and enjoy.

    1. It is fantastic Darren,
As they say... it's the heart of the home. It's constant warmth especially at this time of the year is fantastic.
Thanks for hosting and I hope you enjoy all of the festive preparations. Apologies for my late response but the Aga has been working overtime as we have had visitors this past weekend.

  10. A lovely homely shot of your aga, makes me feel all cosy and festive. Wee Muffy is as adorable as ever and she's the perfect size for that drying spot ;) Well you'd have problems getting a Great Dane up there that's for sure, hehe ;) Enjoy your Sunday Denise xox

    1. I love it Mo... especially at this time of year, plus the two ovens are an added bonus, even though I have an electric oven too.
I couldn't believe her reaction the first time I popped her up there. I had to make sure all the hot metal was covered so just a dull heat came through. She immediately settled down and looked like she had a smug smile on her face. If she's there for longer than a five minutes or so she begins to fall asleep.
You're right... it's a good job she's a mini shihtzu and not a Great Dane! That would be a struggle.
I know some dog owners open the bottom oven for their pets to climb in, leaving the door ajar of course, but I'm too nervous for that!
Farmers use the bottom oven (which is the cooler oven) for young lambs too.
I did enjoy Sunday thank you... in fact I enjoyed the whole weekend as we had visitors staying and I also went to the Simply Red concert!
Have a good weekend and have fun with those festive preparations!

  11. Aaahhhh ....looks like someone is there to stay. :) Have a wonderful week. Hope you're as warm as Ms McMuffty. Hugs from chilly Florida

    1. I can't leave her there Nan... she'd fall asleep and probably fall off. It's quite a height for a little mini shihtzu!
We're not doing so bad with the temperatures just now Nan, although some parts of the country are really suffering with floods. It's heartbreaking to see some of the news footage.
We're having temperatures of around 11 degrees (which is around 51 in Fahrenheit)
Hugs back but I'm having difficulty thinking Florida being chilly!

It's her birthday in two days time.
I like to decorate the kitchen and pop up a few fairy lights because the rest of the house is done but the main activity happens in the kitchen!
I don't like to miss out!
      Have a wonderful week

    1. Hehe... well she loves the hairdryer too Jaqu, but the Aga comes in handy when it's just her undercarriage!
I think she just loves heat no matter what form it takes!

  17. well good lord, could she be any cuter?? I'd like to have someone give me a lovely bath then put me on a warm heater too. We have some warmer weather here but rain goes with it, rain for the last week and for the next week too. A little dreary here, I must say, even though I like rain. It's dark all the time, lol. Keep your chin up my friend and keep yourself warm like muffy too! Big hugs from wet Canada.

    1. I doubt it Jenn, but then she's been working on it for nearly 12 years.
It's her birthday in two days. I haven't ventured up there myself... it's a little tricky but I do perch right up close to it.
We had our darkest day yesterday... it hardly got light all day. I love Christmas but it'll be good to be heading towards the lighter days.
Big hugs back to you... from thankfully a sunny Scotland!

    1. I haven't put up the fairy lights yet but then that'll set it off perfectly. I used to leave the kitchen but then I thought that that's where all the Christmas cooking comes from and should be dressed up!
Trust me Muffy won't be up there during the festivites. It's just handy at the moment to dry her off quickly from her morning walks.
      Have fun this week.

Phew... I'll be desperate for spring soon.
(I've just had that déjà vu feeling... I'm sure I've written this before!)
Stay cool and enjoy your summer.

Hmm... Christmas heat... oh I remember that (she said sighing) although yesterday didn't get light all day, it still feels right that Christmas should be cold and white with a dusting of snow. Well to me anyway. Then it can go... the faster the better!
Stay cool and have fun with the festivities.
