The temperature can be anything from 14 to 40 in Melbourne...you just never know so it's sometimes safer to celebrate in July...the shops have all the toys on offer and decorations on hand too.

It's really bizarre to have such contrasts in the timing. When you've grown up with Santa usually arriving in his thick fur red suit but then to see him as an inflatable at the beach or in a pool makes you look twice. But then I suppose why can't Santa have a holiday?
It's also strange when chatting to family on the other side of the world and hearing the usual preparations are underway but you're in the middle of a summer heatwave!

Apologies Jesh...caster sugar is refined sugar. I try to put in all the differences now but obviously missed that one back then ;D
I hope you like it.
I've been watching Masterchef Australia and the UK but haven't seen the USA version.
Enjoy and thanks for checking out the recipe. I hope you like it.
xoxoNeesiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08629847485174945501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6254134409987044782.post-90050008573178988162013-09-30T20:09:51.763+01:002013-09-30T20:09:51.763+01:00To celebrate Christmas in July, would feel awkward...To celebrate Christmas in July, would feel awkward, I have to admit Why July, may I ask?
This pear almond cake looks delicious! I take it that caster sugar is the refined sugar you use in your coffee or tea? In the USA we have a master chef program too - here it's focused on the contest. as soon as my computer is fixed, I'll print out the recipe. thanks for sharing!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11788129650584437580noreply@blogger.com
