APR ~ Time is flying by...

Life is certainly flying by just now...with Easter already upon us.
My friends have already been and gone, but we have some lovely memories to look back on until our next meeting later in the year.
So if I say today was the first time that I got a chance to look online or to check what's been happening out there in t'internet land....375 emails later, I finally got around to see what this week's theme was for Jenn's Artist Play Room. You'll know just how late I am...(I know nothing new here) but this time
I'm REALLY late.
As you may have guessed (well the title kind of gives it away) the topic this week is 'Flight' or 'things that Fly'...so you can imagine how thrilled I was that a few weeks ago I drew up this little owl in my journal.
He wasn't going to see the light of day, but Jenn drew him out of me and so here he is for you all to see!

A little cheat having a stand-in ready in the wings (HA... get it!) but otherwise I wouldn't have made it in time...
I'll be back soon but in the meantime why don't you nip over to the Artists Playroom and check out some really talented artist and their entries this week.
Happy Easter to you all.
Have a wonderful time and remember any chocolate eaten on Sunday has no calories...
I read that somewhere...or did I dream it?!!??!

  2. 375 Emails! Ugh!
Fireworks!? Why have you got fireworks!? Haha - I know, I'm obsessed with checking your weather window, but I'm fascinated by the fact that you're 11 hours ahead of me, with 'opposite' weather; (I know the earth isn't flat! It's just that I always find the technology that allows us to communicate practically instantly; amazing!) Does that make me a nerd..hmm...possibly I guess. Do I care? Nah! :)
Anyhoo, the real reason for my visit, is your wonderful owl. He is gorgeous! I'm delighted he was nesting quietly waiting his turn to be brought into the spotlight for our delectation.
Have a Wonderful Weekend, an Egg-citing Easter and I'll see you again soon
    :0) Mo xx
ps - Enjoy your calorie free chocolate ;)

    1. Well Mo, if I tell you why we have fireworks, then I'd have to kill you...HA! Mmmmwwwwhhhhhhaaaa!
No seriously it did bother me initially until I realised that it is to do with the Footy matches...the fireworks appear on both Friday and Saturday night whilst the games are playing. Well I think that's why? :-/
I think it's great that you check my weather because its something that I like to do on other peoples blogs. Have you seen the aeroplanes take off and land yet? I changed my picture from the beach scene to the airport and city view because that seemed more appropriate for Melbourne.
I also feel the same way you do about technology and instantly communicating with anyone anywhere in the world. It's amazing.
If you're a nerd then I'm right there with you ;D
I wish I'd taken time to draw something new for this week, but didn't get any spare time at all, so the owl now has his 5 minutes of fame, even though it wasn't planned.
Have Eggstra fun this Easter holiday weekend...I'll be popping over to see you soon. I hope the Easter bunny is good to you too :D
      xoxo

    1. I was actually thinking about you whilst I drew this owl Laurie,
In fact whenever I see or think of an owl now, I always think of you. ;D
I do wish I could paint one as good as you do, but I have to admit I did only spend an hour or so drawing him. I really should allocate more time in order to do them justice, but I did have lots of fun.
As I mentioned he wasn't supposed to see the light of day...but there you go...he's out there now!
Have a wonderful Easter too and I'll visit you soon.
      xoxo

p.s. I think you may have a little something about to land in your post box in the next week or so...a little birdie told me :D

  4. I love the owl, so glad you released him to the wild!! I always love your patterning. I will make sure to eat all my chocolate on Sunday so it will be calorie free!! Happy Easter!!

    1. That sounds like a good plan there Cat...eating ALL the chocolate on Sunday...I may take up that plan too ;D
Although I did have a sneeky nibble last night...Only to check if they were okay and fresh enough to keep until Sunday and guess what...they were!!!
I like to think the owl is now free and out there but wish I'd have spent some more time on him...I really didn't think he'd ever see outside of my journal. I was trying to draw/paint something ever day that week but it was good to be able to pull a owl out of the book as opposed to the rabbit out of the hat!
Have a wonderful time over the long weekend.
Happy Easter to you and your family too :D

I'm sure Jenn will forgive me under the circumstances ;D
I hope to spend a little more time on the next challenge ~ well that's the plan but there's a lot going on here so who knows?

Have a wonderful Easter with hopefully LOTS of Choccie.

I'll pop over for a cuppa and a chat soon.
In the meantime have fun xoxo

    1. Thanks Jez,
I was just giving myself a challenge to put something in my journal daily so it was handy when I didn't have time for drawing/painting something this week...that he just happened to fly by!

I hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend.
      Have an 'Eggciting time'! :D
