Happy Blue Monday...

How quickly did that last weekend fly by?
It's Monday already!
But don't be perturbed because it's a Happy Blue Monday
Although I'd like to catch up watching a 'Strictly' or an episode of the 'Great British Bake Off Masterclass' with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood
(or as my hubby thinks just watching 'Loose Woman' all day)
I can't because there are major decisions to be made!
(Just before I move on, I'd like to clarify that I DON'T watch daytime TV EVER, well nearly never! ;D)
If this is your first time visiting me, then you won't be aware that although I never wanted to partake in a renovation job on our home (I've watched so many of those programme's and they nearly always go over budget, take forever and cause such stress, that I thought I could do without all of that going on in my life...there's enough ciaos already) but it appears that we're a living TV episode.
I'm just waiting for Kevin McCloud to appear on our driveway.

Our first major job is renovating the master bathroom.
With all the noise, comings and goings, boots thundering overhead etc I decided to give Muffy a break. She is being desensitized to loud bangs and drills (not even flinching when our neighbour had fireworks on Saturday) but sometimes you just need to get out and have some peace.
So we scooted to the tile shop (more decisions to made) then we stopped off in Duthie Park.
(Duthie Park is a park of 44 acres which was donated to the city by Miss Duthie in 1880 and opened to the public in 1883...I'll be writing a post about the park at a later date).
It's a great meeting place plus you can grab a coffee and the dogs can walk around the whole park off the lead (leash).
As we walked around look what I spotted...Blue Monday just came to mind as soon as I saw the Boat Lake.

I couldn't have asked for more...having this chap playing with his model boat.
It was freezing and I for one wouldn't be messing about with boats on a lake when the North Wind Doth Blow...but he seemed to be thrilled.

I'm off to look at more bathrooms, tiles and windows now, but I did manage to add some music to the video clip that I mentioned last Blue Monday.
So if you're feeling in a little stress...take a deep breath and relax.

Happy Blue Monday to you all.
Don't forget to pop across to see more of the Blue Monday Gang

Smiling Sally

  1. ahh, renovations, stressful stressful, much chocolate and ear plugs required.I don't know about you but it always seemed I knew just what I wanted to do for changes when we weren't renovating then when the time came to actually do the changes I had no idea and felt swamped with choices! Stressful! What beautiful photos today!

I'm having difficulty with all the decisions that have to be made.
I know what I don't want but I'm not sure what I do want :/
It's early days so I'd better butch up and get sorted. There's another bathroom waiting in the wings!

I've just seen our weather forecast and there's snow on those hills.Eek!
I hope your week has started well.

  3. Woo hoo aren't you the clever music Producing video editor? I love the fishes and music ;)
Very clever to escape the bathroom reno - now I hope you've chosen Blue tiles, do let us know. Your new park sounds lovely.
On that note have a wonderful Blue Monday.

I hate to tell you that I don't think blue tiles are on the plan? But if things change I'll let you know.
Duthie Park is a great park and as I mentioned I'll show you around at a future date...but then there's other parks so I may have to give them all an airing :D
I hope your Blue Monday went wonderfully well because I realise that you're into Tuesday already :D
      Enjoy xoxo

  5. Hi Neesie,

I can't wait to see your post about the Park. Poor little Muffy having to become used to loud noises. Just imagine the end result - does that help?

    Hugs,

    1. Well hello Kay,
It's great to see you :D
It does help to think of the end result but I don't think we'll ever get there because we have so many projects we want to do...but as long as I can keep ticking the boxes then I'll be happy.
Hugs to you too...and Muffy sends her love ^..^

I so happy you popped by ;D
Yes I suppose you could say we've been busy. I don't think we've stopped since June when we packed up to leave Melbourne!
I hope you have a great week too and I hope to see you again soon.

  7. Good luck with renovating the bathroom! I know it's a lot of work, because that's what hubby does for a living:) I stay away from daytime TV too, it could be a major time trap ! Enjoy your week:)

I suppose it's okay to demolish walls and floors when it's not where you're living but the builder we have is keeping our disruption to a minimum. Bless him.
I suppose you've had lots of reno projects if your hubby is a handy Andy?
As it is I can't fit enough into my day without the TV so I'm staying well clear.
Have a great week whatever you have planned...enjoy

  8. Hi Denise,
Nice to catch up again. It's warming up here although we've had more rain than usual for the time of year. The garden is looking great. Did you see my post of the purple hussy that stole the show from the other poppies?
It's Melbourne Cup day today. Hoping the favourite wins because it's Gai Waterhouse' horse and Damien Oliver is riding. They both deserve a good change in fate.
Hope the Reno goes well and give my love to young Kevin ;-)
    Love,
    Ros.

    1. Hello Ros,
      How's life? I hope you're well. Warming up...hmm...now there's a nice thought.
I suppose it's worth all of the rain for the garden's sake. I'll have to nip back to see your post about the purple hussy. I love poppies so it must have been spectacular.

I've been hearing all about the Melbourne Cup activities from friends and it only seems like yesterday that we were attending last year. My how time fly's.
All quiet on the western front today as the builder has gone off for some supplies. I'm making the most of the quiet and Muffy is certainly enjoying it.

Thanks for popping over and I'll do likewise soon.
Young Kevin will be thrilled no doubt to receive your love ;D
      Have a great week

  9. Beautiful view of the pond and boats. The man and his model boat gave me a chuckle...we have a guy just like that only his aren't motorized. His sailboats are tethered and he let's out the string so they can sail. I don't envy you having to pick out all the fittings whilst the reno is in the works. I love to do the selecting and always had it done before I started demo. (FYI..have done 4 reno's & built 2 condo's) Is it time to get out the ...would they be called 'winter wellies'? TTFN with warm hugs from FL
p.s. Loved the aquarium and music. :)

    1. Maybe the boats are a man thing? ;D
I can't imagine spending hours in the freezing cold messing about with boats but then each to their own I suppose.
Now there's a thought Nan...being so organised as to having all my selections ready to hand. I mean I've known I was coming here to do these jobs so why didn't I do that. What have I been doing? :$
You sound like an expert on reno's with all that experience. So I know who to consult if I come up with a problem eh? ;D

I'm not needing the winter wellies (you are correct hehe) because for the last few days the sun has been shining. Yes it's only just above freezing but I prefer that than the rain.
Thanks for the warm hugs from FL...they're always appreciated.
Have a great day and roll on the weekend :D

  10. Better to walk around the lake than stay home and listen to the noise. The man and his boat made for a good "blue" photo too.

    1. Hi there Darla,
I've had a very peaceful morning so far, because the builder is away getting more supplies. I'm trying to make the most of it!
Mufftypup has spent most of the morning curled up in her bed getting as much sleep whilst she can ^..^
It's a great day here filled with beautiful blue sky and sunshine...sigh ;D
I hope your day is going just as well, if not better.

  12. Oh, I love to renovate! We have renovated our house completely, you now - yes even more than you can think of! We only had one child when we moved here and suddenly they were four! Takes some replanning and expanding ...
But still most if it is easy, as long as it's blue and white!

I hope you will manage to make all decisions. It's really good to now shat you don't want - that's a very good start!

And I've been in touch with Wandering Wren, but she hasn't managed to solve the commenting problem yet.

I'm looking forward to reading more about the park, looks like a great place to spend some time.

Well the good news is I've finally made my decisions and everything is ordered! There's no going back now. (gulp!)
I've got so many things I want to post about plus getting back to some artwork would be good... I just need to get these jobs out of the way first.
Hopefully Wren will be able to sort her comments out soon.

Thanks for stopping by...it's always great to see you.
I'll try to do likewise soon. In the meantime have a fun with lots of creativity!

  13. Neesie, The man with the boat looks totally relaxed with his boat floating down the river. He must have heard your gorgeous music. I'm so relaxed I don't want to start dinner. HA!

Good luck with your reno projects. Picking tiles etc. is a hard thing to do.

Ok, I'm starting the chicken for chicken and dumplings. My family loves it so much. Gotta keep em happy.

    1. Hello Jeanne,
I'm not sure I picked the best music for the fish video but I was just pleased that it worked ;D
I've finally picked the tiles and they have been ordered today. I think the builder was so relieved that he went straight away to organise them so that I wouldn't change my mind (again!) ;D
Chicken and dumplings sound just the kind of food we need here with the temperature dropping each day. It sounds comfort food.

Thanks for popping over and I hope you're week is going well :D

  14. I guess you'll be prepared if it drags out. Sounds like one huge park and what a lovely pond. Love the saltwater tank. The two shrimp were really guarding their piece of rock and precious crevasses--LOL! :)

      I noticed the shrimps too.

Have a great week what's left of it.
