Hehe...I thought there might be that kind of reaction Helen. It's a dragon (as far as I can tell) that was on the roof in the Grosvenor Garden Centre, that we were visiting for breakfast during the Christmas break whilst in Cheshire :D
Yep Laurie...a dragon it is. Or that's what I think it was. Hopefully the sculptor will agree. He was rather high up on the apex of the garden centre roof.(the dragon and not the sculptor that is...hehe) I'm so glad you liked him. I was rather taken with him myself. I think I've got to buy something similar for our place ;D
Happy New Year to you and Gary...all the best for 2014 xoxo
You've sussed me...it's the best way to spend Christmas apparently! Hehe ;D It also helps when there's a restaurant located near by, to help keep your strength up whilst on the hunt!
Happy New Year...wishing you all the best for 2014. xoxo
Well it's funny you should mention that Bill because we were very near to Wales. Maybe he'd just nipped over the border for the holidays because we were in Cheshire at the time of this photo ;D I think there's quite a few dragons here in Scotland though. I'll be on the lookout for sure as I really would like one of my own.
Great to see you...thanks for stopping by. Happy New Year to you and your family. xoxo
It's a dragon (as far as I can tell) that was on the roof in the Grosvenor Garden Centre in Cheshire. We were visiting the centre for breakfast during the Christmas break and he caught my attention :D I'm definitely going to try to find something similar for our place here...although maybe not so big! Happy New Year Kate...best wishes for a great 2014. xoxo
He was far too large to be a bat Serena...I think and I hope I'm right that he was a dragon ;D Maybe I should have checked with the Garden Centre just to make sure? Aww well that means I'll have to go back to Cheshire sometime soon to revisit! No problem with that plan...hehe I hope you had a great time over the festive season...Happy New Year to you! xoxo
(sheepishly) Yes Marie I was down near you but it was a really tight full on family visit. I arrived the week before Christmas to stay with my sister and to generally help her with all the Christmassy activities and plans. Then my hubby, daughter and son travelled down on Christmas Eve to join us. We didn't stay until New Year but it was a fantastic time whilst we were there. We decided that we wanted to celebrate New Year at home.
It would have been lovely to meet up with you but maybe we'll be able to arrange that at some stage because with having all of our family (both mine and my hubby's family) living near we'll no doubt be tootling up and down the country regularly. I'll let you know when my next trip is planned...so stand by with that kettle on ;D
Happy New Year to you and Todd...not forgetting Mitzie xoxo
Your gargoyle/dragon shot is amazing. It's silhouette looks so powerful against that gorgeous blue sky which you matted in black. Happy New Year, my friend!
Hi Arnoldo, I'm so happy to have you visit once again...it's been a hectic few months hasn't it? I'm also glad to hear you liked my photo. I was rather pleased with the outcome of the shot. He was rather imposing gazing down on us.
Cool pic! Looked like two eagles sparring but you say ......a Dragon! Not a relative of the other Nessie? ;) Happy New Year Nessie. ( couldn't get the vid to get come up, darn)
Happy New Year Nan, I wasn't sure if the photo was clear enough to show what it was but it was awfully high up on the roof so just had to wing it! HA! (sorry...just couldn't resist that) I'll send you another link to see if you can see the pipers. Anyway...thanks for visiting xoxo
Oh my word, Silent Sunday so there is nothing to help me or give me clues about the fascinating image. It looks like some kind of gothic sculpture, winged creatures. Thank goodness I have just had the sense to read the other comments and your replies, so I don't need to spend all night puzzling over it. It's a great silhouetted shot. There are times when you just have to take the shot of a quick moment and so good when it works as this one did. Thank you for your kind and interesting comment on my blog.
Hehe...I have trouble with Silent Sunday entries too Jez. You know me and how much I love to natter, so it's like sewing my lips together not letting me explain or write about the photo. It's agony at times but then thankfully the comment section allows me to explain. As soon as I glanced up and saw him, I ran back inside for my camera. You just see something and it shouts "take me...take me or shoot me" in a good way of course! This was one of those occasions. I was pleased with the outcome, although he's not as clear as I'd have liked but then I'd have had to scale up the building to get a closer shot and he was quite high up.
Thanks for popping over and leaving a comment ;D Have a wonderful week...enjoy! xoxo
Hey, I've just decided that coming to your Silent Sunday on Tuesday is the best... well let's be honest it's taken me till Tuesday to reach the end of all your comments... but then I get to know all about your dragon and your Christmas, perfect :) May I be the first to wish you a wonderful Wednesday?!!! Wren x
LOL I'm so happy that you visit no matter what day it is Wren, I know I've got a lot of catching up to do with my visiting which I hope to do today. I'm hoping that things will be settling down to a more normal routine from today! Ha...you never know...you can wish can't you? ;D
Well yes you are certainly the first (and probably the last) to wish me a wonderful Wednesday! If I hurry I can wish you a Terrific Tuesday although you're in the latter stages of the day. Enjoy the tennis! xoxo
Hehe...he's caused quite a stir Sandy. I thought it would be a photo to capture peoples imagination and he's not disappointed. Great to see you once again.
Have a wonderful week and I hope that you aren't too involved with all that horrendous weather we are hearing about. Take care xoxo
I get so excited to see you here and love to read your thoughts and comments. I always try to answer each one personally (I think it's only polite) ...♥...I truly appreciate your precious time here so thank you ...♥...

What an intriguing photo! My first thought was a bat but then the other comments lean towards dragon so maybe it's that???
