I don't believe it... unfinished chocolate? (PPF)

I haven't had a chance to produce much art work over the last few weeks, but I hear that this weekend is supposed to be wet. Somehow I'm slightly excited by this, which is ludicrous really, after waiting so long for the summer heat to arrive.
If it is wet... then I have a plan.
I'm going to nip into the studio to finish off lot's of projects from Tracey Fletcher King's classes over at Community Thrive
The classes are to help us to learn to be loose with our painting.
We have been painting everyday objects and goodies from our fridges.
Fruit and vegetables along with familiar products and items that we use everyday.
I suppose you could say we're taking in our daily five... but in a slightly different way
The next step is to make a little booklet and then decorate it with our paintings.
I'm really looking forward to creating my booklet.
They'll be a little origami involved with possibly lots of licking and sticking.
It should be fun (hopefully) and if I end up with anything that looks reasonably like a booklet, I'll be sure to let you see it.

Now I know Tracey is a chocolate fan, but she also likes sprouts!
In fact, she loves them,.. how I don't know, but she does.
But I went for the chocolate option.
NO CONTEST!
(I mean who seriously likes sprouts????)
I do manage to cook them, but that's as near as I'll go.
Surprisingly, everyone praises them... but just don't ask me to eat one.
I'm afraid I feel the same about cabbage.

Just a little detour here to tell you a tale from my childhood...
My sister once cooked cabbage as part of our family Sunday Roast.
But she conjured up a devious plan.
She sliced open my Yorkshire pudding to fill it with cabbage, then covered it with gravy.
I took one bite and the whole meal was ruined for me.
I couldn't eat another thing off my plate.
How she thought I wouldn't notice I'll never know, but I didn't eat another mouthful.
Don't worry I've forgiven her... but only just.

Anyway... no more greens.
Lets move on to the good stuff...
Mmm... chocolate.
It's a work in progress but I thought you might like to see it.
Okay, I'll admit the packet is empty now.
Yes, I know it's a big bar but you need something to keep you going whilst working.
But actually, I have no idea where it all went (sheepish look) it just disappeared.
Perhaps mice?

Let's move on swiftly
Here's another of my loves...
Tea!
I know I need to practice my lettering... it's seriously off, but I had fun painting this box.
Tracey is all about painting loosely, but it's not something I find easy to do.
I get stuck on detail and it's not that easy to change your style.
It's great therapy to paint quickly, but I need to practice.
I always seem to be a little afraid when I'm faced with a clean white sheet of paper, but if I paint regularly then hopefully this fear will disappear.
I mean what's the worse that could happen to me?
I'll produce something I'm not happy with.
ARGH...OH NO!
See nobody died!
So I'll keep having fun and see where this journey takes me...
I know with Tracey's help it's going to be fun.
Finally, I thought I'd show you how my last painting looks when a frame is added.
Apologies for the reflections... unfortunately I couldn't eliminate them.
Once again I really enjoyed painting this one and think it looks great for a kitchen.
I may rethink this and paint a new one.
Using this as a draft.
I think I could have been more imaginative with the layout.
I'm linking up with Eva and Kristin over at the Paint Party Friday, so if you'd like to see more amazing art work then click here
I hope you have fun this weekend.
Thanks for visiting my place and I hope to see you again soon.

    1. I need to get back to the chocolate to finish it... but maybe I should buy another bar just as a standby? (Any excuse)
We're are having a thunderstorm with torrential rain so maybe I can get back into the studio to play.
Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned.

  4. Oh I do love your paintings. Everything looks lifelike, as if I could pick them off the page. I am SO disappointed not to be able to lift a piece of chocolate tho', you seriously need to get on top of the mouse problem :p Lol. Well, it's wet wet wet here and much cooler *sigh*, to breathe again, without sticking to ones clothes. The boys are headed in your direction as we speak. Pizza Hut in Union Sq and a wander about before heading back. meanwhile I have peace to play as I wish. Enjoy your weekend :D xoxo

    1. You are too kind TwinkleToes,
You'd have to be very quick to beat me to a piece of chocolate though.
Dare I mention the weather... thunder, lightening, torrential rain, and chilliness. I've even lit the fire this morning. Stupidly we turned off the Aga last week thinking summer was here!
Oh your boys are going to be very wet by the time they get home. What a shame but I suppose if you want Pizza then nothing is too much bother. I tend not to go near town at the weekend so I won't be able to give them a wave as I pass.
I hope you're enjoying having the house to yourself. Have fun and let's hope this storm clears the way for some more beautiful weather.

  5. Didn't your mother teach you not to play with your food? LOL! I like all your paintings inspired by your classes with Tracey, but my absolute favorite are all your gorgeous veggies. I can see any of them framed or as prints for notecards. Blessings, my friend!

    1. She did indeed Arnoldo, but like most kids are prone to do... I never listened ;D
Thanks for your praise on my latest project. I'm struggling with trying to be loose with my work and have a long way to go... but it's fun

  6. Looks like you are having a marvelous time pushing your personal limits with Tracey's class. (I have been striving to be a loose woman, too--lol!) These are great! I hope it rains all weekend. ;)

    1. I am having a fabulous time, although it can be a little scary at times.
I wish being a loose artist was easy but it isn't! There's definitely an 'art' to it (apologies for the pun)
Well your wish partly came true with reference to the rain Rita. We had torrential thunderstorms on Saturday and I made the most of it. I went into the studio and played.
Today hasn't been wet but I've been too busy with other things, but I hope to go back into the studio tomorrow. With or without rain!
I hope you're having a lovely weekend. No many more before the big move ;D

    1. Ha! Do you think so Giggles?
When I first read Tracey's blog a few years back I certainly made a connection. I'm not sure she felt the same but she wrote and commented on things just as I would have done. Definitely a connection as far as I'm concerned.
The classes have been fun and at times I have to admit... taken me out of my comfort zone. But that's a good thing isn't it? To stretch and develop... hopefully in the right direction.
Thanks for your lovely comment and support. It's greatly appreciated.
I hope you've had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Devious... yeah you tell me about it! There are lots of other stories but I better not divulge them here. She's my older sister and she'll not be happy.
I'm hoping to finish the chocolate packet over the next few days now that all the chocolate has disappeared... or maybe I should buy a new one for authenticity.
I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed PPF too

  9. Geez, it's sad, just looking at the chocolate makes me whimper a little. Everything looks great Neesie, can't wait to see your book. I'll pray for rain for you if you pray for rain for me, K?

    1. (SOB... sob) I know Jenn... it's a travesty. So tragic in fact that I had to go and get another bar!
I've kept the old wrapper though, so that I can finish the painting.
I'm beginning to think I may have a problem? A serious problem and might have to stand up in a circle of people to confess my habit.... what do you think?
Well your pray worked... in fact, so well that we had thunderstorms and torrential rain on Saturday! I made sure that I used the time well and went into the studio. Today wasn't too bad, but Sunday's always difficult because everyone's around and I'm always busy.
I hope you had fun too

  10. I always admire people who can paint everyday objects. I never have the patience to do so. Yours look really good and lifelike too!

    1. I don't normally paint everyday object denthe, but with these classes I've discovered that there's never an excuse not to paint, because there's always so much to hand. Using the new techniques from Tracey I can
supposedly produce a new painting with relative ease and super quick too.
      I'm obviously still learning!

  11. I can see Tracy's training in your paintings. Excellent artwork. Oh, but, chocolate isn't as good unless it has caramel in it : ) You know if you inhale, there is no chocolate left. Blessings, Janet PPF

    1. Can you Janet? Oh that's brilliant because I can get so bogged down trying to reproduce the subject... that it would be easier just to take a photo.
I still think I have a long way to go because I don't find it easy.
I'll have caramel, plain, fruit an nut... in fact you name it... if it's chocolate I'll have it!!!
Thanks for your visit and blessings to you too
      Happy PPF.

  12. Hey G'day to you too Ros,
What a lovely surprise. I'm so sorry that it's taken me this long to reply but I've been away... trying to find a little warmth.
This summer has been terrible and I not although you are having a cold winter it's virtually the same (and sometimes better) than our summer.
Whose idea was it to come back here... if you know just let me know and I'll have a serious word with them!
Brilliant to hear that you are having fun and creating. Workshops and classes certainly help to insure or take you on a journey that you might never have attempted. Great fun too.
I think Tracey may do another course... I heard it might be perfume bottles but don't quote me on that.
Oh that Jenn McLean is a little tink (as they say here) but so lovable... bless her.
She never mentioned the class to me so maybe I'll just go and take a peek. See what you're all up to. I love to sketch... I find it so relaxing... it's when I add colour that I add stress into the equation.
I'm doing fine here (other than living in thermals all year) and I hope everything's good with you.
I miss Melbourne so much at times.
Have fun and a great creative week.
Hopefully I'll nip across to see what you're up to soon. Once I catch up with my list from my jolly holiday.
