Sunshine makes me smile

Finally the sun returned today... it was glorious and there was even some warmth to it too.
So I thought I'd bring you a little sunshine from my garden.
I know so many of you have been having hot weather for quite some time, but today was the first here... I'm afraid it's made me a little giddy!

There's so much progress in the garden at the moment and we seem to be moving from our blue period, (all the flowers seemed to have been blue after the daffs and tulips disappeared) to the bright vibrant, yellow phase.
In fact, everything seems to be bracing themselves for bursting into bloom if they haven't already done so. I know they're a little late... but really if you'd been out there in my garden suffering the gales, rain and grey skies for weeks, then I'm sure you'd be a little behind.
I have been trying to remain positive and not let it bother me, but it was touch and go over last weeks fog! Thankfully, I hope that's all behind us now and we can enjoy the rest of the summer as we should.
Oh no... listen to me... I sound so British nattering on about the weather all the time.
The above lily is a newcomer to my garden.
My hubby bought me two a few weeks ago.
I think they're called 'Tiny Bee'.
I can't help but smile when I look at them and once the sun highlighted there beauty today, I had to take a photo.
I hope it makes you smile too.

A smile is contagious... so pass it on!

  1. That Tiny Bee flower is stunning. Glad you finally have some nice weather. I went outdoors after I read what you posted on my blog and waved the air your way. I want credit for your warm temps, hahaha.

    1. Thank you for all the waving but can you carry on because that little bit of good weather has gone. I just hope we get a late summer before we turn towards Autumn (Fall).
If it does warm up I'll certainly give you ALL the credit.
Have a great week no matter what the weather... Enjoy

    1. Bless you Nan, but from our current weather I fear you've turned the fans off because it's still pretty bad here. We did see the sun briefly today but not for long. I've been playing silly whatsits with my washing all day. One minute out on the line... the next back inside. I gave up about 4pm and shoved them all into the tumble dryer. At least I got a little heat out of that for a time.
Super King sized bedding takes quite some time in a dryer.
      Have a great weekend
Hugs to you and the girls

    1. Oh Sandy do you have any idea how much your lovely comment made me smile?
I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat (Alice in Wonderland) all day! Thank you
Have a great week and I apologise for my late reply but I'm away just now and blogging isn't on the agenda.

  4. I understand about the rain, wind and storms. Here in central MO we have had a share and also flooding. It raining so much our vegetable garden did not grow into anything. A few little tomatoes and about two peppers. Who would have thought rain would kill veg plants. Glad to see your bright flowers. It also makes me smile. We went from rainy season to 90 - 100 degrees. Love your painted vegetables. Which my garden vegs looked like them. Enjoy you warm beautiful weather.

    1. Eww... not sure I'd like to go from rainy to 90-100 degrees.
But because I've taken so long to reply to this lovely comment I have to report that that warmer weather seems to have disappeared once again.
      It seems very shy.
I've had a little success with my few veggies which is surprising but I'll not complain.
I think the world's weather has gone a little mad this year but hopefully it'll settle down soon.
Enjoy your garden and thanks for stopping by my place.
