Shake your tail feathers

The strangest thing happened in the park yesterday.
Now that sounds a little like..."a funny thing happened on the way to the theatre" doesn't it?
McMufftypup and myself were taking a stroll in the park whilst enjoying the beautiful warm spring morning...Muffy oblivious to everything going on around her as usual, but for the immediate smell under her nose. But I became aware that two crows were acting suspicious and were very interested her. So much so that they came hopping over the lawn towards her.
I began to worry that maybe they were interested in her eyes.
I know that they can peck eyes, but I thought that would only be in something that had actually died...but what else could it be?
They came closer and close...but each time that Muffy looked at them the nearest crow crouched down.
"Curiouser and curiouser" said Alice
But then I realised what the crow was trying to do when it began to peck poor McMuffy. Not her eyes but her tush!
Or more precise...her tail feathers!
The crow tried to nip in and pull out some fur
(or should I say hair as Shuh Tzu's have hair not fur).
Muffy was most indignant!
"How very dare you...?"
"Do-I-know-you...?"
Obviously the crows spotted her swishy tush and thought now that would be brilliant for our nest!
I just wished I'd have know what was happening and I'd have taken a video.
Nature never ceases to amaze me...there's always something going on.

Well it's Friday and I've got a full weekend planned.
I've an exciting outing on Sunday and next week I'm away on a girls break.
Whoohoo!
I'm not sure how much time I'll have for blogging, but I'll no doubt have lots to share with you sooner or later.
Enjoy your weekend

    1. Well if she was fully switched on she'd probably be affronted Laurie...but don't forget she's blond'ish so she lives in her own little world ^..^ bless!
      Enjoy your weekend xoxo

  2. How bizarre! I've seen birds taking my Daisy's fur, but only bits that we have brushed out. I wouldn't think they'd go up and pluck her! Our Dais, a bunny, is similarly erm... 'unaware' sounds kinder than 'ditsy', so if they did try to peck her fur I doubt she'd do anything either!
Poor Mufftypup probably needs some nice little pieces of chicken to recover from the whole episode! :)

    1. You're so kind Laura...'unaware' hehe ;D
When I groom Muffy I leave the fun that is left in her comb one branches etc for the nesting birds to take but obviously these birds didn't know or want to wait!
I'm not sure they managed to get any fur but Muffy did get some chicken on our return home. It's nothing less than she'd expect! ^..^
I hope Daisy has all of her bobtail intact!

Apologies for my late reply to your lovely comment. I've been gallivanting again and only just managed to come online. It's all go ;D
Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll see you soon

  4. Oh my, i'm not surprised you were apprehensive Neesie, poor Muffy :O Maybe next time you give her a wee brushing you could save some of her hair, (does that mean she doesn't moult?), and place it near the feeders and some of the lucky birdies can nest in luxury this year? ;) Have a lovely weekend and lots of fun on your girly break :D xx

    1. Hi Mo,
Yep I do share her fur when I groom her (or should I say hair...as Shuh Tzu's have hair not fur).
I place it in the garden but I'm not so sure about taking it into the park!
When I do leave it...it's gone within minutes. So it's obviously top notch nesting material.
By the way she doesn't moult which is such a bonus.

I'm sorry to have taken so long in coming back to your lovely comment...but I've been having so much fun lately and no time for coming online.
These lit nights are a killer though. Light up until nearly midnight and then dawn around 4am!
I'm packing in so much into the day there's a good chance I'm going to burn myself out! hehe ;D
Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll chat again with you soon hopefully

    1. Hehe...well yes poor Muffy if she was aware of what was happening but she was virtually oblivious and on a smell trail ^..^
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate your visit.

    1. I couldn't believe just how cheeky the crows were Nan...talk about on a mission!
I have been enjoying my gallivanting but hope to catch up and at least pop something other than a photo on my blog soon.
It's tough when you're having such fun! ;D

    1. Muffy hardly ever barks Boo and quite frankly she wouldn't have known the sneakiness of the crows. She's such a blond at times plus once she's on a good sniffy trail everything else just isn't important. Not even having your tail tweaked apparently!
Apologies for the delay in my reply but I've been out and about. Summer days and light nights mean there's so many more hours to cram masses into the day!
There's a good chance I may self combust!
Have a great week and I'll be with you as soon as I can.
      Have fun xoxo

  8. OMG!! That is hysterical! They may have thought it was some kind of mop or strings she was carrying around on her back--ROFL! Crows are such fascinating creatures!! Muffy just cracks me up!! :)

    1. Isn't it just...although to begin with I was worried they were after her eyes. She has extremely large eyes.
It serves her right because when she walks she does shake her tail feathers which always attracts attention.
Muffy cracks us up too Rita...and we've had her 10 years! There's never a dull moment honestly ^..^
I hope all is well with you as I've been away and having fun with no time for blogs or online stuff...but I hope to catch up soon.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and give Karma a tickle from us
      xoxo
