Chief Chook and a Sprout Loving Bambi... PPF

Happy New Year Everyone.
I hope all your wishes come true in 2018.
I didn't realise that I was going to have a blog break, but that appears to have happened.
So my apologies for not making any announcement before my disappearance.
I hope you'll forgive me.
As I type here this morning, I can't help but feel grateful that I can touch type.
It is so dark, as the heavy clouds burst and send copious amounts of rain down upon us, but that doesn't stop my happy mood.
Yes it's January and some say the most depressing time of year, but
I thought I'd tell you about my enrolment into an online art course.
It starts on Monday and is a Bootcamp with Lilla Rogers from Make Art That Sells
I thought as I'm nipping into the Paint Party Friday link today, fellow PPF's might be interested in hearing or reading all about it. Lilla is fantastic and such an inspiration... so friendly and encouraging too. There are live video links and discussions every week and assignments every Monday, plus access to a special Facebook meeting place for all fellow classmates.

I seriously lost my mojo last year and just couldn't find it... but Lilla has a way of making you think anything is possible.
So with that in mind here's my first piece of artwork for 2018.
I hope to improve and fly with my art as the year progresses.
Obviously, this first one had to include a chook (chicken).
Just a fun piece to hopefully give me a kick start!

Now that I'm back to blogging, I'd also like to share my sprout loving visitors.
I personally don't mind having them eat all the sprouts from our veg plot, as I've never eaten them nor do I intend to. But I do fear that our new seedlings and plants this coming spring might be on their menu!
But seriously how cute are these Roe Deer?
The numbers have expanded this year from the odd one or two to five.
Is that a guilty face or what???
So there's plenty for my first post of the year.
I hope to keep the momentum going.
Wish me luck!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you soon.

  4. You're off to a wonderful start to your creative New year-I LOVE your Head Chook!! The deer are so sweet. The rain doesn't bother me either-it only gives me more time to create and not feel guilty about missing a day outdoors:) I'll be mostly indoors at least this month to stay warm and away from the snow and record COLD temps we've been having. Creating and dreaming of summer...
happy New Year and happy PPF too!

    1. That's exactly what I think Linda, if the weather isn't bright and dry I have lots that can keep me busy inside until the weather improves. Our weather has been chilly (minus for weeks off and on) but it's been bright. Today is very dark and damp so a definite day for art! Yes I think so!
Happy New Year and I hope it's a fantastic creative one for you :D

    1. Not sure of her actual ability to cook Latane, but she'd be very willing to help especially if grapes are involved (a great favourite with my chooks)
The class yesterday was brilliant with a live link up. I hope to have some work to show everyone soon.

  10. Love the Head Chook! Aahhh, nibbles now might be appreciated when it’s the veggies you want to grow...hmm. Good luck with your painting class. Hope it revives the mojo. Which I too have lost, not to mention my iPad died and I had to run out and get a new one. So much for those new glasses and being able to se to paint. :(
Hope your holidays were fab! Happy New Year to you and family! Here’s to a 2018 filled with paints! (for both of us) Hugs from me and the Girls on this very chilly day in FL(there was snow just 80miles north of me! 😱)

    1. Hi Nan, mojo well and truly woken up yesterday in the first mini assignment. It's so difficult to keep motivated and inspired when the equipment around you doesn't want to co-operate. Maybe just use a pencil and pen and draw anything around you. I'm finding just doing the act of drawing helps.
I had a lovely Christmas and New Year thanks. I hope you and the girls did too. I saw that some parts of Floria had snow. We've had a few days here and there, but now I'm thinking about spring...which could be a long was off...but thinking about it might make it come sooner!
      I wish you a fantastic creative 2018 💕🌠

Wishing you everything you would wish yourself for 2018.

I joined in with my first mini assignment yesterday and had great fun plus there was a live video link! Hopefully I'll be able to share some of my work soon.

  15. So what inspired the Chook Cook? Very cute and sort of out of the blue. ... and if she is a good cook, good to have around :) Love the deer and you can count on them being there for your spring garden. You will have to figure out ways to save your plants or they will all disappear ... speaking from experience :) Happy New Year, Neesie ...

    1. I suppose having four new chickens this year has them on my mind Andrea. It's the first time we've ever had chickens and very often cause for amusement.
As for the deer... they've been around but thankfully have stayed out of the plot. We'll have to fence off it they become a problem. They are just too cute and special to have visit to get angry although my hubby will NOT be amused!
Happy New Year to you too. I hope 2018 brings all your wishes to fruition :D

Love your chicken which reminds me - I also miss the fresh eggs we had from our chickens when we lived in the mountains.
