You aren't going to believe how quick I'm going to be this morning...this could be a gold medal if they awarded medals for short posts for WOYWW.
If you visited my blog yesterday, then you'll know I had a 'ME' day and as part of that self-indulging day, I nipped into the art room and had a play.
I had hoped to finish the feathers but time ran away with me.
I'm hoping to nip back in there sometime today to carry on painting.
I've got a few appointments first so it'll be a squeeze but one I'm willing to make.
The feather appeared under one of the trees in our garden yesterday.
I'm not sure who lost it...maybe a buzzard perhaps, but if you know what bird it would belong to then I'd be really interested to hear from you.
If you're unsure what WOYWW is all about, then click here and you'll be transported to Julia over at Stamping Ground.
So that's it for today folks...
Have a brilliant day!
The feather drawings are so cool! I've had my hands covered in paint and glue so I'll have to pop back and see yesterday's post. Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Nan G #61
ReplyDeleteAh ha...having fun eh Nan? Paint and glue? I'll have to pop over to see what you've been up to ;D
DeleteI feel like I'm always publishing unfinished work to WOYWW. I hoped to finish the feathers in time to link up but I'm afraid I ran out of time (Quelle surprise!)
Hugs and Happy WOYWW to you too xoxo
wow - that feather is all sort of gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBut it's not finished yet Betsy.
DeleteI hopefully to finish it tomorrow and then I'll re-post it ;D
Thanks for your comment and I love your blog name (pharmgirl)
Have a great WOYWW
Wow your feather drawing is fabulous. We have some we want to copy at some stage.
ReplyDeleteThe house of bears @no.50
As soon as I saw the feather lying under the tree in my garden, I knew I wanted to paint it. Now I just need to finish it.
DeleteHopefully that'll be tomorrow ;D
Thanks for stopping by...Happy WOYWW to you
Fabulous feathers! I love your desk there in front of that lovely window! Happy WOYWW! ~Sandy in Texas #67
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy,
DeleteIt's a great space and a place I wish I could spend more time in.
The view is lovely overlooking the garden, copse, fields and far off hills.
Thank you for popping by my place.
Enjoy WOYWW ;D
How beautiful! Your feathers are stunning.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!
Mary Anne (5)
Aww thanks Mary Anne...but I just wish it was finished ;D
DeleteHappy WOYWW to you too
Beautiful! Your arty space looks so tranquil and I know you have an inspiring view out of those windows. Nice to see you lovely. Coffee is on as always. Take care Zo xx 43
ReplyDeleteHi there Zo, it's nice to see you too
DeleteYep the view is great and one that I'll never take for granted,,, but it can be a little distracting at times ;D
Sorry for my delay in visiting but I'll probably be on my way over to you in the morning, so a fresh cuppa would be great.
Enjoy WOYWW in the meantime xoxo
How beautiful! I love little gifts of nature like these! And you are so talented! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteA gift from nature...wow I like that Diane ;D
DeleteI'm trying to find out who left it for us but think it's most probably a buzzard.
Thanks for your lovely comment and for visiting my place.
I hope you have a great day too
The feather is gorgeous, not at all like the plain boring feathers one usually finds. It reminds me of the owl feather I found once but much smaller. An owlet perhaps? Great job painting up the feather too! Judy #76
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised and delighted to see it.
DeleteI just hope I can do it justice when I get to finish painting it ;D
I found a black feather with white dots on it a few weeks back and identified it as one from a woodpecker. We have a few baby woodpeckers visiting our bird feeders.
Oh I'd love an owlet to visit. I'll keep an eye out just in case.
Enjoy WOYWW Judy and I'll visit you soon
What lovely artwork. Karen #18
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen...hopefully I'll be able to finish it soon ;D
DeleteEnjoy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by my place
Your feathers are lovely. Me days are awesome - aren't they?
ReplyDeleteApril #62
Thanks April but as I mentioned 'ME' days are few and far between ;D
DeleteWhen they do happen you're right they're awesome!
I hope you have a ME day soon ... enjoy
Both your painting and the real feather, are amazing. Hope you've had a good day. Helen 7
ReplyDeleteHi Helen,
DeleteThanks for your compliments and your visit.
I did have a great day and today isn't bad either ;D
I hope your day's going well too...enjoy
Happy WOYWW
Great painting! At first I thought, what crafting, your desk is empty and too tidy for crafting! But then I saw the painting. (less different materials and smaller tools). It looks like a peacefull and sort of meditational way of crafting. Calming, that was the word I was looking for. Would be nice if I could craft calmly, but I am a chaos crafter I think...
ReplyDeleteDebbie / Daqa #59
I know my desk freaks some crafter/artists who visit due to it never really being messy or full on, but it's the only way I can work. Maybe it would help my painting if I loosened up a little but it's a lifetime's work to change now ;D
DeleteIt was very peaceful mainly due to the fact that I'd actually shut up for a while (which doesn't happen very often) because my daughter was working on another desk. I was aware in order to share the space I needed to keep quiet. She was working on a particular tricky piece of art.
It is a lovely room so it's not a hardship.
Thanks for popping by...I hope you have a great day and enjoy WOYWW
Hi Neesie
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have visited for a while as I don't rememvber seeing that fabulous old desk.... what a beauty.... I wouldn't want to leave it . love the feathers especially the top one ... so fluid I just want to stroke it
happy playing
janet #14
It's great to see you, no matter when you come to call Janet ;D
DeleteThe old desk is my daughters and the paint splattered chair belonged to my Grandmother. It's a complete new set up so we're still settling in.
I'm thrilled to hear your reaction to the feathers because I always want to loosen my paintings but never in my mind seem to achieve it.
I hope you're able to play too.
Happy WOYWW
Happy WOYWW Nessie...lovely feathers...have a great week RobynO#29
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW to you too Robyn,
DeleteThanks for visiting my place and leaving a comment.
Have a great week and enjoy your desk hopping ;D
Beautiful work on those feathers and I look forward to seeing the finished work. Although with your gorgeous view I don't think I would get a lot of work finished.
ReplyDeleteSandra de @52
I had hoped to finish them today Sandra, but so far I've not managed to get there...but I will ;D
DeleteThe view is pretty special and today the farmer is rolling hay bales which is fun to watch.
Enjoy your day whatever you get up to...have fun and thanks for stopping by
And just look at you fly Neesie - two posts in two days :) :)
ReplyDeleteWren xx
I KNOW Wren...I'm probably going to burn out at this rate! :D
DeleteGreat to see you and I'm thinking about you...I'll write and visit you soon
xoxo
It's a great workplace you have. I love feathers and your art work is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and happy crafting, Angela x # 38
Thanks Angela for your lovely comment,
DeleteI hope to get back to finish the feathers off today.
Have a fantastic Friday and weekend.
Happy crafting to you too ;D
Glorious feather, Neesie - and a fabulous painting of it. No idea what it is, though. Have missed you recently - but then, life is somewhat manic here!!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
Margaret #1
Hi Margaret and I've missed you too ;D
DeleteNo we still are unsure who lost the feather although I'm leaning towards the buzzard.
I know I haven't been a regular visitor to WOYWW with so much going on here trying to reclaim our home and summer but I hope to give a little more time to art soon.
I seem to be saying that quite a lot but I'm more convinced I mean it now.
Have a great day and God bless you too
xoxo
I have no clue what kind of bird feather that is (well, it's not a turkey I can tell you--LOL!), but it is stunning and I can see why you wanted to paint it. I hope you got time to steal away to paint and that you wlll show us when you are finished. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL...what a giggle Rita. I've now got a vision of a big fat turkey sitting in my tree!
DeleteI'm pretty sure it's a buzzard's but it has been suggested it might be an owl. I heard an owl in spring but none since, so it's unlikely.
Anyway...today I finished painting them and I've just posted it for everyone to see. No doubt it'll come to you because if I remember rightly you receive my posts via your email, so they'll be a slight delay ;D
Enjoy your Friday night and have a wonderful weekend
xoxo
I love your feather painting, so soft. I am so pleased that you are back in your art room at last, keep it up. You have so many beautiful things around you that you will never want for a subject.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day.
Luv Von #15
Thanks Von,
DeleteCan you believe that I actually spent time finishing off the painting today!
Yep... I'm as surprised as anyone ;D
Sometimes I think because there are so many inspiring things around me I can't decide on which one to paint/draw.
Thanks for your lovely comment and visit.
Have a wonderful weekend xoxo
I love the idea that you found something so inspiring that it's worth squeezing some more time out of the day to make art. And want art, gal, your feathers are gorgeous....doesn't matter if it's a work in progress for us deskers, it's just nice to see it when it's finished as well!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Julia,
DeleteIt's great to get such lovely comments. I'm still not comfortable painting but hopefully if I keep at it I'll get more relaxed and maybe even enjoy it! ;D
I have good news because today I squeezed a little more time and finished it.
I've just posted it but will try to let the WOYWW gang see it next week
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by my place
xoxo
