Morning Zena... where did that weekend go? Thanks for your lovely comment. Yes everything looks very autumnal around here, even down to the geese flying overhead. Have a great week ;D
Well it's that time and then some... I can't believe the weekend has disappeared even though I tried to make the most of it. Sorry about the allergic reaction to my photo. I'll try to post something more appropriate next week. I hope you have a sneeze free week.
Wow! Wee Man & I love to see the Combines at their work. We don't see them very often, we're usually too late, never knowing when they will be in action of course. so it's exciting for us when we happen upon one. I don't know what it is about them, perhaps their size, but I love to watch them at work :o))
Do you know I thought that Wee Man might like this photo when I took it. Well this combine was in the field right outside my house, so I couldn't miss it really. It's in the field that I helped plough earlier in the year... in my slippers if you remember ;D It was brilliant to watch it in action. Quite mesmerizing actually. It's looking good weather for the next few days so make the most of it... I know I will. With that in mind I must dash... enjoy your week whatever you get up to. xoxo
Well the farmer was busy Sara, I just stood and watched mesmerized by it all. It was fascinating to watch it so closely. It thought it would be a great autumnal photo. Thanks for stopping by... have a great week
Oh dear... sorry. I never thought about people with allergies when I took the photo. How rude! Anyway, it's all done and rolled up into giant swirls now. All contained so hopefully you'll be okay. Great to see you. I hope your weekend is going okay. Take care xoxo
Thanks Jenny, It was fun watching and waiting to capture it. I thought it just summed up autumn perfectly. Thanks for visiting my place and I wish you a great week ahead.
It was indeed Darren, I was there quite some time with the camera getting lots of interesting shots. It was fantastic to see the farmers skill and oh boy they do work hard. Thanks for hosting once again. It's really fun and I look forward to the post each week. I hope you have a great week.
I was just fascinated watching it at work Sherry, They are so efficient now, but I did think back to spare a thought to when the farm hands would have been using pitchforks. Tough days! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I appreciate your time. I hope you have fun this coming week.
Isn't it just Lisa, I don't think I know anyone who doesn't love autumn. The autumnal colours are just coming on display here. Lovely to see you and I wish you a great week ahead.
Lovely rural photo. Considering we're on the farm, I never really see them close anymore, as N usually gets taken off by his Gramps to watch them where they're working.
What a shame that you don't get to see the combine at work, but I was there quite some time and have lots of photos on your behalf ;D I couldn't believe just how big they are when up close and personal, but they are still quite nimble... spinning on a sixpence (a sixpence is old money which you probably have never heard of before) The farmers skill was fantastic to witness and they certainly work hard. Thanks for stopping by... have a great week
Ohhh thanks Kim, You'll make me blush. I was pleased with the shot after taking so many. I had three and didn't know which to choose for the link. One was a close up of the blades. I really liked that but thought it didn't show enough. I think this one sums up autumn better. Thanks for visiting once again. It's always great to see you. Have a fun packed week.
Me too! Pass me a tissue I'm sneezing all the way from Australia! Have you managed to grab a ride in this magnificent machine yet? Keep your slippers ready by the back door in case you get a chance to run out and ask! Thanks for your great comments, I'm a bit slow this week on account of school holidays and pending exams. Wren x
Oh dear... my apologies for not thinking about all you sufferers out there. That's a serious allergy Wren... to reach you in Australia. The wind must have been blowing that way. I'm sorry to report the farmer was too busy to call on my services. It was the farmers son anyway and maybe he didn't realise that it was me that ploughed that field and we had an agreement that I'd harvest it! Anyway, I enjoyed him working and was free to take lots of snaps. Don't worry about being busy... I fully understand and am spinning the plates too. Enjoy your gorgeous weather, hols and good luck with the exams. xoxo
I thought it looked new too. All shiny and bright ;D Thanks for your comment and visit. It's always good to get feedback especially when it's good. I have quite a few photos of it at work. I hope your week has started well and progresses well. Enjoy!
I thought it depicted autumn in one shot and that's why I thought it would be a great entry for Silent Sunday. Thanks for your visit and comment Jane, Have a great week ahead whatever you have on your plan.
It was a beast but so beautiful all at the same time. The more I look at the photo the more I'm liking it. Thanks so much for stopping by my place and leaving a lovely comment. I appreciate your time. Have fun this coming week whatever you get up to. Thanks for hosting 365 too... it's so much fun.
I love the hazy lazy days of Autumn. I love the fact the light is shining around the Combine making it look somehow magical. Great capture! #sundayphoto
I don't think they're lazy days for the farmer Tracey, he actually worked through the night but I know what you mean. The pace certainly makes a switch at this time of year. I'd thrilled with your reaction to my photo. It's great to get peoples response and comments. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I wish you a great week ahead. Have fun!
I took quite a few photos of the combine... some really close up. The blades all shiny in the sun looked great. It was hard to decide which one to post, but after my guessing entry last week (the copper whisky still) I thought I'd link something that just shouted 'Autumn' in one photo. I hope your son gets to see it at some stage. It was very shiny and new ;D Have a fab week and thanks for stopping by.
Aww thanks JallieDaddy, I'm so pleased that I captured the atmosphere of the harvest as well as the huge powerful machine. The farmer has been back and collected all the hay bales today so that's it for this year. Thanks for stopping by... have a great week
I love to watch the harvest, the way the tractors move in and out as the crop is lifted is like watching a well choreographed dance routine. But yes it can be dusty, but love the way you have captured the dust, and used the tree at the front to frame it.
I get so excited to see you here and love to read your thoughts and comments. I always try to answer each one personally (I think it's only polite) ...♥...I truly appreciate your precious time here so thank you ...♥...
And with Autum comes harvest time! Great photo capturing the season

Great shot! The irony of it, is that although it's a silent post, I can almost hear the roaring sound this vehicle makes. Blessings!
