Brrr.... 'tis a wee bit chillywoo here today.
We've had snow flurries and the biting arctic wind is still blowing a hoolie about the place.
We expected the snow to arrive yesterday, but it didn't arrive until the early hours of the morning.
I'd nipped to the bathroom (as you do around 3am) and couldn't see out through the windows, even with the full moon. The snowflakes had been blown horizontally across the field and had stuck onto the window.
I wasn't really aware just how cold it was until I walked barefoot into the bathroom and my feet nearly froze to the floor tiles... to say nothing about the icy toilet seat!
As it's Friday, I thought I'd share my artwork and link up to Paint Party Friday once again.
I had mentioned previously that I would paint another thistle and here it is...
I'm going to have a hygge day today.
I shall enjoy looking out at this wintery weather whilst the fire roars and I enjoy painting.
I thought I might paint another winter scene on a roof slate
But for those of you who are missing and craving some colour,
then how about these cute lovebirds below.
Such gorgeous tropical colours that make me crave spring even more.
They are my daughters newest design and if you'd like to check out her shop, then click on her name.
This illustration is a print, but she also has cards available, which is perfect timing for
Valentine's Day.
Thanks for visiting my place today.
I hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend.
Love both you and your daughter's pieces. Stay warm and happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, we are certainly keeping warm and cosy.
DeleteThanks for your visit and Happy PPF to you too
Lovely thistle and birds. Enjoy your hygge, we call it 'Gemütlichkeit' here!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Valerie

DeleteI hadn't heard your version, but you learn something new every day.
Thanks for sharing and your visit. Happy PPF to you
LOVE the Love Birds and had a giggle at the freezing toilet seat...lol
ReplyDeleteI thought you might Sandee... I wanted to share a little of the joys of living in the North East of Scotland! Especially on a winters night!
DeleteGreat to see you... thanks for your visit and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.
I love how the love birds are holding wings. :) Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteMe too Erika... they are so cute aren't they?
DeleteThey made me smile too. Happy PPF to you
Oh the cold toilet seat, I do understand that feeling ... Certainly not pleasant. Your painting on the other hand is gorgeous and your daughter seems to be following in your footsteps ... Lovely post, Neesie ...
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
Haha... yeah not pleasant Andrea. Quite an eye opener at that time of the morning!
DeleteThanks for your visit and lovely comment about our art.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.
You definitely passed those artistic genes on to your daughter. Both your projects are really lovely! Enjoy your wonderful sounding hygge day, and happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHehe... yep it would appear so, but she is more talented than me, but I'll forgive her ;D
DeleteIt's turning into a few hygge days Linda with this current wintery weather. We have a white covered world but the sun is still coming to visit. It's my favourite kind of winter weather.
Hi Neesie, I went to your hygge link and certainly agree, in the weather you're experiencing, that kind of day would be most enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteLove your thistle, so pretty.
The lovebirds are sweet and I shall check out Nic's link too.
Cheers now and Happy PPF :D)
We're having a few hygge days at the moment Sue. The weather is very cold, crispy with a dusting of snow and brilliant sunshine. My favourite type of winter weather.
DeleteThanks for visiting and checking out the links.
Have a great night and enjoy your weekend :D
Love the details and colors. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much NatashaMay. Have a great weekend :D

Yeah Sandy, when you have to go... you have to go!
DeleteEven if you didn't want to... when you sit on that seat... brrr... well enough said!
I must have know you'd come to visit today because I started a new tile this afternoon. So far so good... but it's early days yet.
Have a wonderful weekend.
most of the snow is gone now because its raining, but there was a point here too where you couldn't see out the bedroom window, the snow had coated. was odd seeing a blizzard, well for half a day at least lol
ReplyDeletewe have a wood toilet seat, seems to help a bit with the cold lol
Our snow only lasted one day, but it was nice to see. I'm concentrating on spring now... positive thoughts and all of that!
DeleteWe do have a wooden toilet seat, but that's downstairs... not in the en-suite. It was be chillywoo to have to go down there.
Bring on spring!!!
I hear you about the cold.. it was minus 9 with a wind chill even colder this week. Yes the floors are too cold at night! Beautiful thistles. I love the sweetness and touch of humour in your daughter adorable art!! Always makes me smile. You must be so proud!! Seed doesn't fall far from the tree!!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
I suppose if I'd have taken the time to pop my cosy slippers and dressing-gown on then it wouldn't have been quite so bad... but I'm not at my best at that time of the morning.
DeleteThanks once again for your lovely comments on our artwork. I am immensely proud of both my daughter and son, although my son doesn't paint he is creative in other ways.
Hugs back to you Giggles :D
Love your thistle
ReplyDeleteBless you Clare, I feel I'm now done with thistles, but not sure where to go next? Any suggestions welcome :D
DeleteYes I love the thistles you have been painting. Reminds me of my home in N Idaho. Your daughter's art is so bright and happy. she has a lovely shop. Have a wonderful Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your lovely comments once again Nicole. It is great to get such feedback. I think I'm done with thistles... it's nice to know they hopefully brought back good memories of N Idaho.
DeleteMy daughters illustration business is growing brilliantly, which is quite something when she's a full time lawyer!
Thanks for taking a peek at her shop.
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead :D
Great thistle and what adorable lovebirds!
ReplyDeleteHehe thanks Debra... your compliment is not taken lightly. It means a lot. Have a wonderful week :D
DeleteGreetings from loooong hygge and Happy this year! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting, like real flower!
Thanks so much... I'm hoping we can now move on to spring soon.
DeleteI think I'm finished my thistle period... I now need to think of my next subject. All suggestions gratefully accepted and noted.
Have a great week and thanks for visiting.
I just watched a move set in Scotland and there were thistles. I haven't seen one in person for a while so it is a treat to see your drawing! Stay warm. It's cold here but cold is relative. in So California we think it's cold in the low 50's.
ReplyDeleteBoth paintings are beautiful! Your thistle is very realistic! Popping over from PPF :) x
ReplyDeleteThe thistle is beautiful. . .I didn't realize how much except through your painting. Blessings, Janet
