It seem rather ironic that I should be sharing my snow scenes painted on spare roof slates, when in fact we've had fantastic weather during this last week.
For example, it was -3 degrees this morning, but on mornings such as these, it can be pretty magical. Everywhere is covered with a crisp white crust, clear blue sky's and the sunrise brings an amazing colour palette.
I'd much rather this kind of weather during the winter wouldn't you?
It can be a winter wonderland out there, especially if you are wrapped up well.
But I'm not sure that Muffin agrees with this last statement.
We started our morning walk yesterday and not far into the walk, she refused to move any further and promptly sat down and wouldn't budge.
Here's a photo of her...
My hubby had to carry her for the majority of the walk.
(I should have taking the pooch pouch with us)
When I saw this photo, I immediately thought of Paddington Bear for some reason.
I think I'll have to hide her passport just in case... Peru is after all warmer than Scotland.
I think I need to warm up a little now.
I'm going to link up with Paint Party Friday and hope you'll join me there.
Thanks Kristin and Eva for hosting once again.
Have fun everyone and thanks for popping over to my place.
I hope to see you again soon.
Lovely art and a great photo of your pooch Paddington! Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHehe Thanks Valerie, I have to say I'm not really in favour of dressing up our pets, and the blue is in fact my hubbies coat. The hat was mine too. If she'd have carried on walking she'd have been much warmer... hey ho
DeleteI should have said that the slate is still a work in progress too.
Happy PPF to you and I hope you have a great weekend.
lovely slate art, so unique. Muffin's being spoiled, why not.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, I should have explained that the slate is a work in progress.
DeleteBy the way... Muffin is always spoilt just in case there's any doubt!
Yes, she looks JUST like Paddington! Don't be so quick to hide her passport -- maybe she'd take you with her to warm and balmy Peru!
ReplyDeleteOh now I hadn't thought of that Debra ;D
DeleteIf our weather turns grey and wet once again... I'll help pack!
First off I share Muffin's expression upon going out in the cold. I could take her along to a warm balmy place very happily:)Your winter scenes are really beautiful. Happy PPF !
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, I must admit it took me a a while to get out there... for a start I had to put on so many layers... but once I was out there it was fabulous. The air was crisp and clear.
DeleteThanks for visiting and I wish you Happy PPF too
haha, yes, Paddington Bear comes to mind ;-) I love your snow scenes on slates. They're beautiful ....
ReplyDeleteUncanny isn't it denthe?
DeleteI forgot to say that the slate was still a work in progress.
Thanks for your compliment. Have a great weekend :D
Hello Neesie - your slate tile paintings are gorgeous - delightful scenes.
ReplyDeleteDo you prepare the slate before applying paint?
Definitely got a Paddington Bear happening there ... cutesy cute! Happy PPF :D)
Hi Sue, nope I don't do anything to the slates except just make sure that they are clean. I should have explained that they are still a work in progress. I keep adding little details here and there.
DeleteMuffin always seems to steal the limelight. She's cute and certainly knows how to use it!
Happy PPF to you too.
Yes icy, snowy winters can be magical, I am just done with that kind of magic LOL. I love your art piece though and your dog is just to cute.
ReplyDeleteI hear you Nicole, I'm nearly over them too. I think it's just the fact that I'm seeing little signs of spring that's keeping me going.
DeleteWe have our first snowdrops now and only this morning I saw the small iris just about to open. All wonderful sights that spring is on the way!
Love the slates and super cute photo too
ReplyDeleteThanks Clare, I'm not finished the slate painting just yet as I keep adding little additions to it.
Deletewonderful paintings on your spare roof tiles.
ReplyDeleteThe thrill for me was seeing Muffin -- look at that little nose!
Love her hat - she would not like Peru -- They don't speak English.
Yes I know that Paddington Bear came from Peru but he seems to have settled in to a British life style quite naturally!
Sandy xx
Thanks Sandy, I knew you'd like seeing Muffin. I'm not entirely sure she understands English either... or she makes out she can't when we ask her to do things she doesn't want to do! Still you're right Paddington does appear to be settle here. We just need to up the thermostat a wee bitee. No wonder he keeps his duffle coat on!
DeleteI love your snow scene slates. And slates are so appropriate in color and temperature when you hold them! I am with Muffin! I prefer to stay in on cold and icy days, and do art or read. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria, I've moved on to warmer subjects from the roof slates. I'm needing spring to arrive. Although I too am loving being inside and cosy near the wood burner, with my book!
DeleteAdorable pooch and yes he does look like Paddington bear. Love your paintings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran, I enjoyed painting these scenes, but I'm now ready to move on to spring!
DeleteOh your snow slates are stunning. I could see them hanging in homes...so beautiful!! Yes the crisp weather is lovely considering we were in a deep freeze for several days with snow for over six weeks!! Sweet little Muffin she is the sweetest!!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
Really Giggles, now wouldn't that be fun. Thank you
DeleteI've now moved on to thinking more springlike. I'm really looking forward to it's arrival, aren't you?
Still a little way to go yet, so in the meantime I'll paint spring!
Hey Muffy Baby!
ReplyDeleteHey Sandy! How're you doin'? ^..^
