Since my hubby retired, I've had to be prepared for his new projects.
We've had the creating of the veg plot and the chickens are well established as part of the family now, but I can honestly say I never ever envisioned this latest project.
For any of my regular readers you'll already know that my hubby adores wood and our wood burner So imagine his delight when he saw a Scandinavian wood burning stove, that heats a hot tub!
One was ordered and delivered before I could say 'HYGGE'
I have to admit I wasn't convinced until actually used it....oh boy I have to admit it is amazing.
This photo doesn't actually show how big it is...plenty of room for two.
The only trouble is that my feet don't touch to the other side and I keep finding myself floating!
As you can see my son loves it!
I'm linking up with My Sunday Photo as usual.
Thanks Darren for hosting once again.
I'm also linking up with Image-in-ing.blogspot.co.uk
Thanks Sue for hosting.
And finally thanks to you for popping by and I hope to see you again soon.
And finally thanks to you for popping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Enjoy your day :D
Looks utterly blissful! What a lovely addition to your garden :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly different isn't it Louise? But it's proving a big hit!
DeleteIt looks delightfully quaint, yet very practical as well.Certainly a talking point in the garden - and no doubt really relaxing too. Lucky lady!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Di xx
It certainly is different Di...not sure it will be permanently placed there, we'll have to see how it settles in. Hubby initially wanted it siting on the decking right outside our lounge/kitchen/family room! He's now decided (upon advice) that placed in the garden is a better plan. I've now got to come up with a way of softening it's edges. Plants etc hopefully might work.
DeleteI'm told that it will age beautifully...now you tell me anything that ages well and I'll eat my hat!
Thankfully after trying it out...it's won me over. It was divine, especially after working all day in the garden. Beautifully gallons of hot water that I literally had to fight to keep from floating.
Looks fantastically relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit it really is the biz Andy!
DeleteOh what a wonderful idea - good for your hubby!
ReplyDeleteWell since hubby retired Sue, I'm a little nervous. He keeps coming up with these ideas. First the veg plot, then chickens and the hot tub. We're in for a wet week which means he'll be on the internet and I'm worried what idea's he'll get whilst browsing!
DeleteThis looks AMAZING! I am jealous! It looks beautiful, honestly, not like those modern OTT hot tubs
ReplyDeleteWell yes it is rather unique and not the norm Sarah. It actually is quite pretty in an odd sort of way. The wood burner is very efficient way of heating up the water and I love the smoke coming out of the chimney. Depending on what wood you use it can give off a lovely smell :D
DeleteLooks pretty nice!
ReplyDeleteIt's winning me over Debra...especially when you're submerged in beautifully hot water whilst lounging neck deep in the garden!
DeleteThat sounds so wonderful and what a beautiful photo it makes. Enjoy your time relaxing in there.
ReplyDeleteI have to say Fiona, that it is wonderful. I wasn't convinced until I submerged myself in it...then I was hooked! The oak slates help you to sit and relax, and apparently the aluminium tub will age beautifully. The perfect end to the day :D
DeleteYes, I can see why this hot tub appeals. What fun! In fact I want one. #MySundayphoto
ReplyDeleteWell John, I think you should have one because they don't take up too much room (but enough for two) and they really are the biz!
DeleteYou could trial and review it in the interest of your blogging readers! ;D
Great hot tub!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Sarah :D
DeleteThat is lovely. I want one! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteWell it has won me over...it's huge when you are lounging in it. The oak slatted lining and aluminium tub will age beautifully (apparently). I can well recommend one.
DeleteThat looks the best way to relax...I want one in the garden
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Darren let me tell you it really is great. I wasn't convinced until I got in. It has beautiful oak slates to lounge on and the water is as hot as you'd like, plus it doesn't get cold. It takes about an hour to get the fire going and the water hot, but then it stays hot for as long as the fire is fed. It really is the business.
DeleteI want one!
ReplyDeleteWell I can recommend that you get one Catherine!
DeleteOh my goodness that's quite a project and not the photo I was expecting when you said hot tub. But it looks gorgeous and looks like you're definitely all enjoying it :)
ReplyDeleteThe same happened to my daughter Tas,
DeleteShe was expecting to see one of those square Jacuzzi type of tubs that can seat four or more. This one is only for two really, which from the photograph above is quite deceiving. It has been a great surprise to find that we all love it.
Oh my gosh, that looks amazing! I want one in my garden!! :D #sundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI can well recommend one. It is great and so relaxing especially after a day working in the garden. Then a view of the garden where you've been working, with a glass of wine whilst relaxing in a hot tub...what more could you want?
DeleteThat is simply fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly different, but I have to admit I love it. I was sceptical to begin with...that was until I lounged in it wonderful hot water! Fantastic!
DeleteI'm a little jealous! That's pretty great.
ReplyDelete#MySundayPhoto
It is great Dad...and will be used even though we don't have the warmest of weathers here. It is Scandinavian so used to colder temperatures. Once you're submerged it doesn't matter what the weather is doing!
DeleteThis looks wonderful, what a fabulous idea #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteWell initially I had my doubts Sally, and thought it was just another of my hubbies crazy ideas, but once I submerged myself in it and lounged whilst looking over the garden on a summery sunset...I was hooked. Apparently it will age well with being aged oak and aluminium. I just need to soften the edges with some pots and plants now.
DeleteWhat a fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteIt is rather quaint isn't it? But so functional too. A great hit with us all.
DeleteBrilliant, love it
ReplyDeleteHaha... so do we :D
DeleteHot tubs are a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWell I have to admit I'd never seen one of these before and when Hubby showed it too me I wasn't sure. I have to say it's pretty fantastic once it's fired up.
DeleteOh my! When I saw hot tub in your title this is not what I pictured! Ive seen and used the ones that are round made of teak heated by a wood fire along side. This! It's a metal Tub! An unusual addition to your garden. :) :) Wonder what's next? Have a wonderful Sunday Nessie. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHaha...I like to keep you on your toes Nan. My daughter reacted exactly the same way. She never thought it would be like this even when I described it as a tin bath!
DeleteI never added the other photo's that show the inside...it's aged oak slates that elevate you from the aluminium surround. It is great and there's easily enough room for two.
I'm not sure it will stay in this location but wherever it is situated it'll need to have softer edges, by planting or pots perhaps. Apparently it will age beautifully...so we shall see.
I'm a little nervous that we have a wet week ahead, which means that my hubby will be online once again and who knows what he might see or come up with.
This is amazing! I think hot tubs are one of those things that you have to experience to really get in to it - I love how this one is heated and the overall look. #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteJade, I'm totally with you on that...you definitely have to try it before you dismiss it. I wasn't convinced until I was submerged and enjoying the beautifully piping hot water! Now I'm a total fan :D
DeleteOh wow! That is amazing. I want one. hehehe #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteWell Kim, it is brilliant and you and your girls would love it. There would be room for you all in it! There's so much beautiful hot water that I actually float. This photo doesn't really show the interior and how it works.
DeleteHa ha, how awesome! Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt is far better than I anticipated Jo. I wasn't sure at first, but oh my now I've had a few lounges in it...I definitely love it!
Deletelooks really nice and perfect for when Scotland gets meh weather ;p
ReplyDeleteWell Jennifer, I believe we're in for a meh week!
DeleteSo I might well be having a fair few submissions if that's the case ;D
It looks fabulous!!! What a fantastic idea to enjoy the garden whatever the weather.
ReplyDelete#MySundayPhoto
It is pretty special to be submerged in beautifully hot water whilst surveying the garden, especially if you've been working away all day.
DeleteA glass of wine and a sunset is the perfect accompaniment! ;D
The two words utter and bliss come to mind!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Hehe Jan...you could well be right! ;D
DeleteHehe, that is cool (hot)!
ReplyDeleteWish, I had it here on my backyard...
Enjoy your day
It is Hot (Cool) Mascha, I can recommend one for sure :D
DeleteHave a great weekend
Oh my this looks fabulous
ReplyDeleteMollyx
I have to admit it is fabulous Molly, even though I wasn't convinced at first...that was until I got into it!
DeleteI'd be happy to float in your hot tub - that is WAY cool.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2017/06/shades-of-purple.html
