Autumnal Folio Focus...PPF

I don't think I've ever been so late in entering the PPF party, but I've been in the classroom all day.
Well not exactly in a real classroom, but painting at my kitchen table.
I enrolled into an online class called #FolioFocus and it's week one.
Has anyone enrolled or heard of it before?
I'd love to hear if you have.
The lessons are to help build a stronger portfolio and this week was all about botanicals.
How could I refuse with it being botanical or fall behind on the first week.
So using my new paints I jumped right in.
To say I've learnt so much today that my head hurts is an understatement.
I decided to embrace autumn as it's arrived.
I wanted to hang on to summer, but alas I failed.
I hope you like this and I'm actually quite pleased...which is incredible not only that I've managed to actually share a finished piece of work this week, but also that I like it!

I'm linking up with the Paint Party Friday gang.
Thanks Eva and Kristin for hosting once again.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thanks for your visit today.
It's always great to see you.

  6. I think it's so autumnal and would make a great pillow if you made fabric out of it. Good on you for taking a new class. It's on my list to do something like that soon too. Hugs to you my friend.

    1. Well it was my daughters idea that we do the course together. It'll certainly push me not only in time restraints, subject matter but also technically! My head hurt after finishing this piece because there was so much to take into account from the brief.
I'm hoping that I can keep up and produce some reasonable work at the end of the 10 weeks! Wish me luck :D

  7. Love your shading on this fall piece. We're in the midst of high summer activity (hurricanes) here. If I'm not blown away see ya next week. Hugs

    1. Thanks Rita I have having fun but it's really stretching me and making me think about what I'm painting, how and why...but I'm learning so many things along the way.
I like the change in seasons as long as I'm prepared. I hate and that should read HATE being cold!

    1. I think I've lost summer Jennifer. I tried to hang on to it but it seems to have just slipped away!
The forecast has mentioned the 'F' word which is quite shocking...Frost that is by the way just in case you're misled!

  12. That's great to do the course, there is something about having a deadline to work to isn't there. Fantastic work Neesie - you'll be running that course yourself soon!

    1. Yes it's called 'PANIC' Wren. I'm not good with deadlines but I'm trying very hard to stick to them. Week 2 has been a real challenge. I have so much to learn that I don't think I'll get best in show never mind run the class!
