Challenges on many levels...

Well, I could tell you about the crazy week that's just past, but I'll spare you.
Suffice to say there's been two medical appointments, a car dying whilst fully loaded up with everything but the kitchen sink, plus a dog thinking a trip to the park was imminent and my son having to go to court!
Hang on, let me rephrase that my son had jury duty! (Phew) that's better.

Anyway, I'm still trying to keep up with the Inktober challenge, so here's some more of the ink sketches I've managed to finish.
The orchid was a request from my sister.
It's her orchid so how could I refuse?
She's my big sister after all and I've always done as I'm told! (hehe)
There's also her gargoyle...
I sketched him on Monday which seemed appropriate for the kind of day I'd had.
That was the day that the car died... well it's reborn now actually, after the trauma.

It seems a new battery was all that was needed.
Hmm... I wish we could just get a new battery when needed.

It has been a fantastic Autumn here which is great after an atrocious summer.
I've really been enjoying it which is just as well because I've heard that 'they' say we're in for a severe white winter. I don't hold much by this because the same 'they' said we were going to have a fantastic summer!
I'll wait to see... but I have fully stocked the freezer, bought matches, torches and we've got enough wood to last for a good few winters.... so bring it on!
Meanwhile, the garden is still blooming and the autumn colours are catching my breath at times with their amazing palette.
Here's a little visitor to a thistle...
Even with beautiful sunshine throughout the day, we are enjoying lighting the wood burner in the evening.
I've been watching the geese fly over daily, but I've been mystified by why some are flying south (well I know why that is and I'd do the same if I was a goose) but why they also fly north!
I had to google this and it appears they are flying to their feeding grounds by day and then they return to their roost for the evening.
Mystery solved.
And just before I leave you for this week... in case you were wondering (oh how I flatter myself) about that Kio Carp painting that I started a few weeks back... well here's a little snippet.
I'm really not sure when I'll be able to finish it, but I'll keep it close to hand.
It still needs so much work on it.
At least it's good to end with some colour.
Have fun and enjoy your creativity everyone... in whatever form it takes.
Paint Party Friday

As always I try to visit everyone at the Paint Party, but so far I haven't been successful.
If I've missed you then I apologise... I'll try harder this week.
I'm hopeful that one of these weeks I'll actually manage to see everyone.
Meanwhile thanks for stopping by my place
xx

    1. Thanks for your lovely comment.
I'm sure next week will be better because the sun's shining... so that's the main thing.
The gargoyle certainly looks like he's got a lot on his mind ;D
      Happy PPF to you

    1. Hehe... I think with the Inktober challenge I'm beginning to crave some colour. I might even add some colour to the designs by the time I reach the end of the month.
Thanks for your visit and for leaving a comment.
Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned ;D

  6. What a week of drama! I do hope it has all settled and next week is better. I've missed half of these superb sketches! :( The toasty toes is perfect for some of the chilly days we've been having, even tho' it's been more sunny than it was in Summer :/ The geese sketch is very beautiful, and because it's in B&W it's easy to imagine the ground covered in snow, making for a most stunning vista!
The Koi colours are looking perfect. Looking forward to more sneak peeks ;)
The boys are headed your way today; four hours on the bus for Pizza Hut and then back again, (nae wise). Wee Man even has his Stagecoach outfit on, lol, and looks very smart. Bless.
Well I hope you don't get too wet if you have to go out. Enjoy your weekend Denise :D xoxo

    1. I'm sure it will be a better week, although there's still additional appointments etc to fit into the usual craziness. We've got two fires burning today even though the sun's come out to play. Snow covered ground might well be a reality listening to weather forecasts.
I don't mind over the Christmas period but there's word it might be the worst winter for years! Probably all scaremongering (well let's hope that's the case)
I thought some people may have missed the designs so it was a good idea to include them in here. I've not had chance to do any other painting so it was a case of that's it!
That seems quite a journey for some Pizza Mo, for the boys. I'm sure they deliver! (hehe) I think if I went into town today (which I'm not) and saw a stagecoach outfit I'd
know exactly who it would be. Bless... they'll have a great time and it's a lovely bright sunny afternoon now after all that rain this morning.
Enjoy your 'ME' time... you certainly deserve it and have a great weekend xoxo

I have to admit although I'm a little behind with the Inktober challenge I am enjoying it. It's giving me some discipline... making me draw something every day.
It's something that I would like to carry on doing after the challenge finishes.

Sorry you had a rough week... we've been having those to of late...but hope to be on the tail end of it! Better to break down in fall than in the cold of winter when battery's almost always die!! Sorry just me being positive...we have been without a fridge for well over two weeks now...imagine that!! Living out of coolers...thankfully we have a freezer. Hugs Giggles

Oh things could have been so much worse... I was on my own driveway and not in the centre of town or out in the highlands. I'm with you... I always try to find positives with any situation.
You really have been suffering if you haven't had a fridge. I hope one is on it's way to you as I type or Mr Fix-it is due to arrive soon.
Hugs back to you... fingers crossed we'll both have a brilliant week this week! ;D

    1. Hehe... I know I'm naughty because I've been using that line all week and it's amazing every single person assumes the worst... no-one mentioned Jury Duty! ;D
You know me though... I can't help it... I'm a little tink!
Car all sorted and other than five appointments booked for this week, I'm hoping it'll be a good week. I just can't seem to keep up with the Inktober challenge but I'll keep going because it's making me to try to fit in drawing every day.
As for the koi painting... I'll hopefully get to that too.
I hope your busy creative week goes well and maybe you'll even manage a quiet cuppa in there somewhere ;D
