Hehe... I wish I could say it was mine... but then maybe not! That's one heck of a lawn! It's the grounds of Floors Castle just outside of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. Floors Castle is Scotland's largest inhabited castle. Have a great weekend
We were very lucky to capture it because the road was winding and I'd asked my hubby to stop somewhere if he could... and then a lay-by appeared. It would have been better to get nearer to the castle but I like the countryside... especially the fishermen in the river and the sheep grazing. A leisurely Sunday afternoon.
We had a great long weekend in the Scottish Borders exploring lots of lovely places... I definitely will revisit especially if we're lucky with the weather. Thanks for hosting and I hope your birthday weekend is going well. Enjoy!
I have to confess that although we've had a great start to autumn, this photo was taken during the rare good summer day. It was a perfect place to pull over the car and stop to admire the view.
Next time I visit the area, I'm definitely going to visit the castle. It looks a fabulous place and is Scotland's largest inhabited castle. Have a great Sunday
It was one of the rare sunny warm-ish day over the summer. They were few and far between so we were very lucky with our trip. Did you notice the fisherman? Have a wonderful weekend Zo
Hmm... not sure you'd like the temperature here. It's a tropical 12 degree's today (53F) and that's a really good day for this time of year. You'd certainly need layers and lots of thermals Sandy ;D
Thanks Rita, apologies for my late reply to your comment... I've been taking part in the Inktober challenge so any spare time I've been drawing. I know you'll understand ;D
Did you notice the fishermen too? I was thrilled that I could capture the countryside, sky, castle, sheep, river and fishermen. Oh yes and the sun was shining as an extra bonus.
Thanks Cathy, I didn't think I'd be able to capture the Castle in a photo because the road was so steep and had so many twists an turns.... but thankfully there was a lay-by which enabled me to stop. I'd have liked to have captured a closer image but it'll do ;D
I have to confess it was taken back in the summer so a picnic would have been great. The weekend we visited was thankfully a dry sunny one. There wasn't too many of those so we were lucky!
I get so excited to see you here and love to read your thoughts and comments. I always try to answer each one personally (I think it's only polite) ...♥...I truly appreciate your precious time here so thank you ...♥...
Wonderful blue and green contrasts x
