Love Nature...PPF

You'll be pleased that my Paint Party Friday entry this week, doesn't come accompanied by a long dramatic story.
Thankfully, it's been much quieter and calmer around here.
Annie the chook, who was rescued from the 'Jaws of Death' as it was described by some, has made an incredibly recovery.
She's eating, drinking and the limp has disappeared...she's only needing her feathers to grow back and she'll be looking like new, but with a huge story to tell at the girlies lunch.
The only thing that needs to be rectified is her egg laying...she's stopped laying, which in the circumstances is quite understandable.
She'd like to thank everyone for their concern and kind comments... but she's a little busy right now.
But I digress and as it's time for the weekly PPF get-together I better get on.
Maybe I'm delaying because I'm having to confess to yet another WIP :(
As it was International Cat Day yesterday...I decided to have a little play in my journal.
I'd like to revisit these cats on better paper soon and my lettering obviously needs masses of work.

Yesterday, I only started the drawing below, but already I'm having fun.
It covers an A3 sheet of Bristol Board paper and I'm using my beloved Micron pens.
I will certainly have a good time drawing it up now that it's all planned out.
But the fun will have to wait until later today.
We are in the process of renovating a flat in the city, that we've had rented out for over 15 years!
Yes, imagine cleaning up 15 years...I have enough if things are left 15 days never mind 15 years!
I'm trying to build up to clean the oven.
Even when I mention it a wave of nausea hits my stomach.
But it's good to know that my drawing awaits my return.
Motivational blackmail, but it'll work...it normally does.

As usual I'm linking up with the Paint Party Friday gang.

That's one chore I don't wish on anyone....cleaning the oven. :/ Hope you have a good weekend regardless. The Girls and I are settling in for three days of racing. Toodles n hugs

    1. I'm glad both you and the girls loved the kitties. I used my journal so not the best paper...I'll have to have another go on good quality paper to see what a difference it makes.
I'm taking a break from having my head in the oven Nan! (Haha)
Thankfully there's a produce out there that has a brilliant big plastic bag and liquid which you place the trays into the bag and voilà, it cleans itself!
I hope the racing is going well... enjoy!

    1. It was constantly rented Nicole so much so that we could never get in to do work after each tenant. This time we had to stop to go in. Everything is being ditched and we are taking it right back...painting, replacing all taps, kitchen equipment, mattresses etc. Then it's be new furniture, curtains, bedding etc.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my artwork. I've finished that page now and it's looking good. I hope you have a great creative week ahead :D

    1. We can't believe in her progress Christine...she's really doing brilliantly. The only thing to is she's not laying yet, but we're not too bothered as long as she's okay.
Ugh on the cleaning indeed. But having it constantly rented out over 15 years was such a good thing...I suppose it had to come sooner or later.
Thanks and I hope you have a great week ahead.

  6. Love the cats... hate the thought of a dirty oven. Yours must be a mess. I wish it was all cleaned up for you. Have a good weekend.

    1. Thankfully I don't think of it as my oven Latane. It's just an apartment that we rent out in the city. I've got a brilliant product that works miracles on the oven and everything else is either being painted, thrown out and replaced. It'll have everything new because it's time!
Have a great week and thanks for visiting :D

    1. The cleaning is well underway and everything has been thrown out. We're back to the skeleton of the apartment and now painting and replacing everything. Have a great week and hopefully it'll be creative too.

    1. Hehe...I did think about that Jennifer, but there's a brilliant product that you place everything into a big tough plastic bag and it cleans it all itself. I'm still grumbling though.
I hope you have a great week ahead :D

  9. Your new drawing looks spectacular already. I'm loving that butterfly, all flappy, looking awesome. I'll have to paint one of your chooks up someday, maybe when she grows her backside feathers back, lol. So glad she's ok. Hugs!

    1. I'll have you know Jenn, that Annie's backside is as beautiful as a chooks backside can be. The feathers on her back on the other hand are only just growing back.
I wanted to show the butterfly in flight and not flat on the page. Have a great creative week ahead. I'm desperately going to try to fit some artwork into mine. Wish me luck!
      Hugs back to you :D

  11. What a gorgeous fluffy bottom!!! I think you will find that your chickens will stop laying in the winter. But that will give you a break from eating so many eggs! I do miss our goats and chickens.
Annie sure does look good - at least from the rear she does. Typical woman!!

    1. Oh why thank you Sandy!!!
Yes we'd heard that the girls will stop laying as the light fades towards winter. Our daughter had two chickens for a few years and warned us. I'm not bothered either way Sandy as long as they are happy and healthy. We give away so many of our eggs...I don't eat them unless in fried rice or crepes!
This photo was of Annies fluffy butt before the attack but her rear is still gorgeous...it's just the new feathers coming on her back give an appearance that she's wearing a bustle!
The others have the odd sqwark at her...I think they might be a little jealous :D
