I think this might be one of the best photos that I've managed to take of a busy bee.
I must admit I'm rather proud of it, but I have to admit that I've deleted nearly 20 that weren't so good. They are just so busy and flighty at this time of year...never staying still for more than a few seconds.
They really do test your skill and patience!
As usual I'm linking up with My Sunday Photo over at Photalife.com

I hope to see you again soon
I love how you capture so much detail in your nature photos. That is one busy bee!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fiona. I adore nature and something will just capture my eye as if it's a camera lens and I've then got to take a shot!
DeleteThe lavender is positively buzzing.
That's a fab shot of the bee on the flower. I can never manage to capture them clearly.
ReplyDeleteIt took quite a few photos to get this one Louise. I was about to give in, but then he just lingered that fraction of a second longer and I was able to capture him.
DeleteA great shot - you've captured the pinpoint detail perfectly. No harm in deleting 20 shots if it means you capture the perfect one!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I'd managed to capture the detail so deleting all the out of focus shots doesn't seem so bad once I'd captured him.
DeleteI had so many buzzing around me...it was difficult to focus on one.
I found with a common camera, it's almost impossible to get a good picture of an insect
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly tricky Adam. I took over twenty shot before getting this one. Thankfully he stayed a little longer collecting his treasure, so I was able to capture him. I still would have liked it to be a little more in focus.
DeleteBeautiful and I know how tricky this type of shot can be (bee?) as I tried one myself recently!
ReplyDeleteHehe...Thanks Afra-madmuof7
DeleteI was thrilled that I actually managed to capture this busy bee. He certainly tried my patience, but it was worth it in the end.
I will be very proud of this as well. The detail you have captured is truly stunning. An amazing image and glad you got it right on the 21st go. Well worth the effort. #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThanks John, I was beginning to think I'd never manage it, but then he'd do that little buzzy noise and I just had to keep trying!
DeleteI appreciate your kind praise :D
Oh such a beautiful photo, the detail is incredible.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Aww thanks Darren...I really appreciate your praise.
DeleteThanks for hosting and allowing me to share my photo.
That is a gorgeous macro!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol... I was so pleased with the result :D
DeleteI keep seeing lavender everywhere right now and it's so beautiful. Love the very close up bee hard work. So hard to get a good shot of them!
ReplyDeleteWe've always had lavender along that particular pathway and it is always so full of bees. I think my hubby counted 18 on them at one time!
DeleteIt's our little gesture to helping them out...plus all the other flowers in the remaining gardens. I'm happy to say that there doesn't seem to be any decline in numbers here.
What a beautiful, detailed shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah...it took some effort but I got there in the end!
DeleteThis is a lovely photo, each hair is clearly captured.#MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteIt's the best I could do especially after being crouched in the border for about +15 mins. I lost the feeling in my legs...but it was worth it.
DeleteWhat an amazing pic, Nessie! And a testament to your patience. Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt certainly did test my patience. Every time I clicked the shutter he moved off. I have quite a few photos of lavender and an out of focus blob!
DeleteI agree Neesie - you are the Queen of Bees, or should I say the Queen Bee? Either way you're brilliant :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday
Wren x
Haha...You've reminded me that I used to work with a woman that was called 'Queen Bee' I don't think she was aware that that was her name. I better not say anymore just in case she comes across this blog! I'm blushing slightly with all your lovely compliments by the way :D
DeleteWow - that is an excellent photo and beautiful too!
ReplyDeletesandy xx
Aww thanks Sandy...I try my best! (hehe) :D
Deletethey are pretty active here too, when it isnt raining :/
ReplyDeleteHmm...yeah that's the key isn't it Jennifer...when it's not raining. We're having thunder showers in between tiny blasts of hot sunshine. It really is all over the place. I wonder when summer is going to arrive? ;D
Deletehopefully soon since i go bak to uni in a month lol
DeleteWhat a stunning photo - you have outdone yourself this time:)
ReplyDeleteAww bless Pam...thank you. It was a little tricky and I had to use a fair bit of patience but thankfully got there in the end!
DeleteLovely shot indeed!

Hello Neesie, this is indeed a lovely photograph.
ReplyDeleteWell done, and thanks for sharing it here.
All the best Jan
Most definitely... you should be very proud, it's beautiful and with such detail Neesie :D) xx
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, that is one handsome looking bumblebee! They aren't easy to photograph at all. I love the close up detail of the fur, it looks like you could run a comb through it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
