I'm having to be super quick posting today, as I have visitors and as they've just nipped out I thought I'd nip in!
I'm so excited to have new paints and can't wait to use them.
I've not painted using gouache paints before, so any tips and advice will be gratefully accepted.
I thought I'd colour in my own design that I posted last week, but as you can see below...I didn't get very far before my visitors arrived.
I'll have to wait (with baited breath) to get to use these new paints...but I'm hoping that we can become great lifelong friends.
I've also joined an online course, so hopefully I'll be able to share details and results from class with you soon.
Must dash...the hostess with the mostess duty calls.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thanks for your visit.
Thanks Eva and Kristin for hosting once again.
Have fun with your gouache paints, and enjoy your visitors. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I hope you're having a great week
DeleteExcited to see how you use the gouache paints and hear about your class. I have never worked with gouache. Enjoy the weekend and happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure whether the gouache is going to work for me Linda,
DeleteIt appears I use gouache like watercolour paints and vise versa!
They are certainly bright and vibrant...maybe it'll just take me some time to get to know them better.
I always love new supplies - all the possibilities! Happy PPF from Number 28 :)
ReplyDeleteIt was very exciting Sarah...we're still getting to know each other. It's early days ;D
Deletefantastic! I hope you have a lifelong love affair with gauche. Much like watercolors just opaque so you can use th same paper and brushes! 'm thrilled for you. I know Roz uses gauche half the time and has tons of resources and talks all about it. Her blog is http://rozwoundup.com
ReplyDeleteHugs to you my friend. So sorry that moose is so lost!
Well now Jenn, here's the thing...I think I used the wrong paper :(
DeleteI'm sure I could have used a more suitable paper. It's still early days for me so I'll have to see how we go. Thanks for the link...I'll visit and see how it should be done.
No sign of that moose...Maybe he's met a Highland coo along the way?

DeleteIt looks a fabulous giveaway and your bookmarks are fantastic!
That's what comes of having visitors and not keeping up to speed with your blogs! Still it looks like I'll have to check this author out ;D
Enjoy your new class.
ReplyDeleteThanks Clare...it's the first day of class and I'm feeling like I'm back in my primary school days. Hopefully the nerves will fade and I'll be able to jump right in!
DeleteDon't know anything about gouache paints but looks like you are in for fun. I like the drawings you have. Have fun with your guests.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure it was fun Faye, because I've never used these paints before. Hopefully we can become friends.
DeleteHave a great week.
first I've heard of gouache paints but then again I'm not an artist
ReplyDeleteWell I'm learning every time I pick up a paint brush Adam...it's a steep learning curve and I'm not sure I can reach the top!
DeleteEnjoy your new paints and visitors, thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteVisitors gone and painting completed Christine.
DeleteI'm just trying to play catch up now.
Have fun with your new paints, and have a super weekend too.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan...I'm a little late replying to your comment, but all went well both the visit and paints!
DeleteI love that you used your free moment to check in on the blog! Gouache is super fun, although I really haven't mastered them yet! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteShhh... no-one was supposed to know! (hehe)
DeleteI think my steep learning curve with the gouache paints might take some time to hopefully reach the top! Happy delayed PPF to you.
