For this weeks My Sunday Photo I wanted to concentrate on the fleeting of our gilded season, before the amazing colours and light fade as winter makes it's entrance.
We really have had a spectacular week with amazing sunlight from sunrise until sunset.
The sun hangs very low in the sky at this time of year.
The shadow in the field is actually our house.
Everything has long shadows.
I managed to cut the lawn (hoping that this will be the last cut of the season) and sat back to look at my handy work, when the dappled light shone and danced through the trees.
Finally we were treated to a spectacular sunset!
Wow... it lasted for quite some time and was a joy to watch.
I know I've included these images on my Instagram, but I wanted to share these pics with my blogger followers who might not have access to an Instagram account.
We're about to put back our clocks tonight so that's a sure indication that winter is definitely on its way. Bring it on I say... and let's get it done with, so that we can say "Hello Spring"!!!

ReplyDeleteIt certainly was stunning. I took lots of shots to add to my huge collection, but I just can't resist them.
DeleteFantastic sunset, we don’t get long shadows here in Dubai, one forgets how low The Sun is in the UK #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed a spectacular sunset.
DeleteI lived in Qatar for over 6 years and missed the seasons so much so I like to take note of all the little changes as the seasons come and go.
Hi Neesie, you do live in a beautiful place. The sunset is quite stunning.

Thanks Debbie...it is a fantastic place and made moving back here to the UK from Australia a little easier.
DeleteThe sunset was spectacular :D
That sunset is incredible! I'm not looking forward to winter, so I'll be looking forward to spring too!

DeleteBeautiful sky photo, the colours and sunsets have been amazing this past week
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Haven't they just. We had our first sprinkle of frost this morning so they'll be lots of different photographic opportunities that we haven't seen for some time. Brr...but I'd rather spring!

ReplyDeleteThe weather was very mild John, but just last night it turned. Jack Frost adorned the garden with his glitter...so it starts! Brr!
DeleteSome lovely photos. I love the sunset one! #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI think that's proved to be the most popular one for many people. There's something about sunsets though. I just can't resist snapping them :D
DeleteAw they are so lovely my favourite is the sunset they really make me smile x
ReplyDeleteThey make me stop and smile too...but after dashing for my camera first Sarah! Reading the comments show that the sunset is a favourite for many :D
DeleteOh my that sunset is just beautiful. How gorgeous! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteIt was stunning and actually lasted for quite some time. I had to just stop and stare in wonder after taking lots of photos. I'm glad you liked it!
DeleteWow! That's about all I can say about the sunset. Flaming sky
ReplyDeleteIt did appear to be on fire and spread right across the whole of the sky. I'd have needed a wide angle lens to capture it all. (Maybe that's an idea for my Christmas wish list?) ;D
DeleteLove the way Fall sunlight dances thru the trees. Fabulous pics Nessie! Stunning sunset. Hope you won't mind if I add this one to my inspiration file for painting. Enjoy the sunshine. Hugs from rainy FL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking Nan...I have no problem at all and hope to see at sometime the outcome of any painting you might do.
DeleteWe had frost last night but I'd rather that than damp wet cold days!
Autumn is wonderful. We've not had many decent sunsets yet unfortunately
ReplyDeleteActually Emma neither have we, but this one was definitely worth waiting for :D
DeleteIt is such a beautiful time of year....That sunset is amazing. Such gorgeous colours x
ReplyDeleteI adore each season for numerous reasons...yes, even winter as long as it's a dry cold one and not a soggy washout!
Deletethe sky has been gorgeous colours lately, so pink and red :)
ReplyDeletewhats your instagram account?
It has indeed Jennifer. We actually had a little frost this morning for the first time this. It's a sharp reminder of what's to come. Hopefully it will be a crisp cold winter and not a wet washout!
