What's on Your Workdesk ~ WOYWW ~ 159

I'm not going to say the usual...I can't believe its Wednesday again...but really I can't!
It suddenly gallops up and bites you! So because I posted a mammoth photographic post of an artist's retreat called Monsalvat yesterday, I'll keep today's post short and sweet...which is what the lovely Julia requests.
I have to apologise before I go any further if I didn't get to your desk last week...it's not that I didn't want to or couldn't be bothered ~ I really just couldn't fit it all in. I wish I could visit you all and not only on a Wednesday...I know there's some amazing blogs out there....so if you have a tactic on how to manage this task....please tell me your secret. ;D
Oops...I better show my desk before I ramble on...well yet again it’s the dining table. It’s still chilly here so no studio for me for a while.

It's a good job that my art doesn't require masses of equipment because I have to pack them away each time I need the table...but then it's cosy and the sun shines in here, so I'll put up with that for now...
After last week's comments my son's been playing and took this shot of me working but through the glass reflection from the dining room door. I think we need to tweak this technique, but you can see a little of my view...but unfortunately the sun wasn't shining when he took it.

If you're new here or confused as to what on earth WOYWW are all about, then nip over to Julia
at her place and all will become clear....you'll have a great time and see some amazing things...but beware it can be addictive!
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone....keep smiling :D

  1. Your tortoise is absolutely fabulous. He is the cutest thing. A huge congratulations on your sale in the new Etsy shop, yes, I've been spying on you:) That is excellent as is your art!
What a clever son you have, taking that picture. I have trouble just taking a normal one.
Don't blame you for coming into the dining room, I've been going in the family room, chasing the sun. Hurry up summer I say!
    Have a great week.

    1. Hmm...well I'm not sure whether to mention he's not a tortoise but a turtle...oh well it's out there now. I'm really pleased with him.
Hehe...spying...snooping, nosying, sticky beaking, desk hopping, what are we like?
Thanks Von for supporting me with the Etsy shop...it's very nerve wrecking being out there with my stuff. Like in the beginning with blogging, there's just so much I need to learn. Not that I'm an expert blogger either. Sometimes my little brain hurts :$

I'm like a sunflower turning towards the sun...I just love it!
We're nearly half way through winter already so not too bad so far.

  2. Hi Ros,
You're right it is a turtle. I've had such fun drawing him. ;D

I suppose I was lucky to get any photo from my son as he's not normally available during daylight hours! (hehe sounds like he's a vampire!) Typical that the sun had been out before and after the photo but he couldn't possibly come back and take another...so much to do...so much to see!
Happy WOYWW to you ~ have fun!

I do feel very priviledged to be able to sit here creating. I have to pinch myself sometimes! ;D
I feel quite put out really because I didn't feel the quake although both my hubby and son felt it...they were both sitting on the sofa and turned to each other with a funny look on their faces and said "did you feel that"?
I wasn't sitting relaxing at the time (nothing new there) so that's my excuse.
A friend who lives quite near to me commented that her windows actually rattled. Scary!

As well as visiting Monsalvat on Tuesday my friend and I also popped into 'The Light Factory Gallery' located quite near to Monsalvat. There were a few exhibits by artists that I really admired so I took the cards so that I could research further.

The Cat is by a very well known artist called Leigh Hobbs
      see his work here http://www.leighhobbs.com.au/
and also another by Anna Walker http://annawalker.com.au/
      I really love her work.
The exhibition is open from 13th June until 8 July.

I'm very naughty really because I don't notice the time when I'm drawing (which can get me into trouble sometimes) so I haven't a clue how long the turtle's taken me. I don't mind really I just loved drawing him.
I always try to visit everyone who visits me and also have a quick run through at the start of Wednesday and see how many I reach off and on during the week. Some weeks are better than others obviously...but I don't think I'd every get to everyone.

  24. Hi Neesie,

Love the turtle and I can see the kangaroo in the background. You are lucky that your art doesn't require a lot of supplies! It seems that the things I like to do best has LOTS of supplies to go along with them.

I'm not linking up this week (yes, time did get away from me) but wanted to pop in to see what you've been up to.

Yep the kangeroo is there with his friends...the magpie, koala, and turtle. I've also got a few more designs in mind to keep in with the Aussie theme.
I am lucky that I don't need much space or equipment to do the 'tangling' but I do have plans for other things which will take up more, whenever I manage to squeeze more time out of my day! HA!
I'm amazed when I see some of the WOYWW desks by how many supplies they have.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my Father's Day card! I was really happy with how it turned out. Oh, and a Gypsy is a hand held device that works with a Cricut die cutting machine. It's more portable than the machine, and you can design things that you can't with the machine alone. The remotes and Pepsi can on the Father's Day card were done with the Cricut and the Gypsy.
