What's on Your Workdesk ~ WOYWW 160

Well here we are again...wonderful Wednesday! It's the day for desk hopping, although I'm not so sure I qualify at the moment because I'm not using a desk as such. I'm still cosy in the dining room.
It's an absolutely fantastic sunny day today, but I took this photo early this morning before my walk, when the sun isn't on this side of the house...hence the photo not up to scratch.
Note the Intense pencils are still in pristine condition...untouched....but I hope to remedy that later today.
For peeps that follow me you'll be relieved to hear I tackled the ironing (finally) so I'M FREE today! Yeeha!

Here's some of the work that's been created from this space....
I'll be making them into cards during the week.

This photo was taken last night so apologies for the quality of shot...It is on white paper....honest!

I was missing the Magpie that flew the nest so I had to draw another.....

Are you confused or new to the term WOYWW?
Then nip over to Julia's place at Stamping Ground where all will become clear.
You'll have a great time and see some amazing art, creations and work desks throughout the world...but beware it can be addictive!
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone....keep smiling: D

I do have visitations rights to the first Magpie...just to keep a check on him and he's doing fine in his new home.
There's a Kookaburra coming this way soon so watch this space as 'they' say (I always wonder who are the 'they' when I say or write that?)
Anyway....must keep busy because there's a lot to visit.

  6. Love your zentangles (even though I do not like magpies - had to bang on the window the other day when two of them were attacking my blackbird) and still think you should try turning some of your designs into rubber. Am sure they would sell.
What's that interesting bag on your desk with all the handles please - nosy me wants to know.
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet #21 xx

    1. Oh blackbirds are my favourite Neet, but I have to admit that the maggies here are very different, especially in their songs and chorkling. They seem to be very family orientated too.
I remember the UK maggies can be quite aggressive, so I don't blame you for knocking on the window. I'd have been running outside waving and shouting...aren't you glad you don't live next to me eh?
I'm so glad you mentioned the designs potential to be turned to rubber, because I was trying to remember who had suggested that previously and couldn't think. Sorry.
I'm not sure where would do that? Can you make a suggestion? I'm wanting to take up your advice...and apologise for not listening earlier! You can't get the staff...can you Neet?

Anyway...on to the bag...well in fact it's actually three. They are felt bags that have a clear plastic lining. I bought quite a few and use them for gifts. The best being around Christmas time...I gave Poinsettia's as gifts and the bags really set them off well.
Any other suggestions for their use? I'm listening this time ;D

  23. My zentangles aren't exwn close to the beauty of yours, but I have to tell you why I love yours so much. The traditional tangle is on a 4x4 piece of paper and it is gorgeous but just a tangle, nothing more. Where yours is always inside the shape of something. I made more tangles in shapes than 4x4 tiles. That is my favorite way, and seeing you do them this way and so beautifully makes me love your tangles more than any other person I've ever seen!!

  32. Hi Ros,
I'm glad to hear you like the turtle...I think he might be my favourite if I were to pick a favourite...but as with our offspring, I couldn't possibly favour one over another!
I've never looked too closely into other 'tangles because I didn't know that was what I was drawing, until someone from the WOYWW gang told me!
I think mine are similar but don't stick to the principles of 'tangles. I do my own thing!
Maybe I should look at videos or tutorials online just to see but I don't want to be influenced. These are just me...and my way!

I always try to reply to everyone who leaves a comment because if they've taken time to write to me, it's only polite to answer back. My Mum would be proud of me ;D
Plus sometimes it's not easy to cover everything in the post so it gives me a chance to embellish when answering them.
I try to answer each one individually to make it more personal. The trouble with doing that is that I can't get to everyone's desk...but I try.
Thanks for popping in...it's always good to see you. Have lots of fun desk hopping and I hope to see you again soon :D

  38. Glad to read you take all week to desk hop...that's what I do, too! :) And I don't manage to get around to them all, either...how on earth does Julia do it? She must be very dedicated or type really fast...hmmm, a mystery indeed! lol

Anyways, your drawings are fantastic and this is coming from someone who is not at all endeared with the zentangle craze...most of them (others ones) confuse me and don't seem very, um, talented? I mean they all look like they take forever, but they don't all end up looking like the time was well spent...yah, that's more like what I meant to say. With that said, I really do like your turtle and your bird, they seem like the time was very well spent! I'm thinking the kangaroo shows you are very talented as well, and the time was well spent, but all I wanna do is shoot him in the butt or hindhocks with an arrow because it seems like he has a bulls-eye painted there! :) I'm too ridiculous, right?

Well, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me such a lovely comment...you are very encouraging and it's really appreciated! :)

By the way...I think Julia has mystical powers which enable her to get to everyone.
Psst...now this bit is between you, me and the gatepost Deeyll...(swivelling head from left to right rapidly) I don't really like zentangles either!!! There it's out there now!!!
I'm not sure what I draw because I hear they're not keeping in the zentangle guidelines (heaven forbid) but I know I enjoy doing what I do and I'm not sure where it will lead...I'm just enjoying the journey :D
I have to confess I nearly wanted to shoot that Roo in the butt too because he put up quite a fight. I knew I wanted to draw one but he didn't want to play...I won in the end but as you say...bulls-eye!

I'm not really getting round anyone's blogs this week so don't worry! I've had so many lovely comments hoping I'd soon be better, and thanks for yours too! Yesterday I started feeling a lot better, and this p.m. I've been to our village fete. Crashed out for a sleep afterwards and now feeling much better again! Hoping the catch up with everything over the next few days.

    1. Thanks Shoshi,
That's certainly wonderful compliments coming from you. I'm grinning like a cheshire cat!
By the way I've started to play with the Intense pencils but I have a lot to learn by the look of it!!! I'm thinking I need to watch a tutorial on how best to use them.

It's good to hear that you're feeling better and seem to be recovering. It's a tough call when you want to do lots of activities but know in advance that it's going to cause you discomfort later.
Take it easy and rest up this weekend ;D
Thanks for taking the time and effort to visit me ~ I really appreciate it.

  44. I'm so glad I was late arriving at your desk this week, Nessie as I feel so refreshed after that trip to the Maldives, just what was needed after the awful Summer we are having here in the UK this year. I've topped up my tan and paddled my feet so feel able to tackle the rest of the desks now!!!!
Thanks so much for the invite!!
Love your beautiful dining table covered in your amazing drawings. That turtle is fantastic.
Enjoy the sunshine, hope it's still with you and Happy WOYWW

    1. I'm afraid the sun's forgotten us over the last few days...I'm sitting in the doom and gloom this morning. I think I may need a revisit to the Maldives myself.
Thanks for nipping over to my place and leaving such a lovely comment.
Let's hope whomever has the sun at the moment, thinks to let us all share a little!!!
Have a great week ~ creating craftyness ;D

  46. Your artwork is amazing!!!
    Would these be considered zentangles?
I have just learned about them recently and made a card with one I created.
Just checked out your photos from your trip....just stunning.

    1. Hi Tracy,
I couldn't find your comment at first because I went automatically into this weeks WOYWW 161...but this is last weeks but I've got you now ;D
Yep some call my art zentangles but I'm not so sure because I've heard that 'tangles have set rules over sizes and patterns etc and I just started to draw before I'd even heard the term zentangles. I think mine are more doodles.
I don't like to think of restrictions when art is concerned ~ I like to just 'do'!
Thanks for nipping into my world and I'm glad you enjoyed the trip too.
      Have a great week ;D
