I think I should let some others welcome you here on this fanastic spring morning...
Sir William Wallace was a Scottish landowner who became one of the main leaders during the Wars of Scottish Independence.

Enjoy your day...I'm off outside to see what needs plucking, planting, pruning and perusing!
Thanks for stopping by...it's great to see you and even better if you have a quick natter.
xoxo
I'll have to go to Aberdeen next time I'm up there
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a plan Bill...there's lots to see ;D
DeleteHave a great week and thanks for stopping by
I've watched Braveheart enough times to know who William Wallace is, but didn't know he was knighted. His statue looks regal against the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteI've watched it a few times myself since it was released.
DeleteUnderstandably, there are quite a few statues throughout Scotland.
I immediately thought of a Blue Monday entry when I saw him, especially with the gorgeous blue sky.
I hope you have an enjoyable great week.
Happy Blue Monday
Enjoyed your bird song. Will have to play it a few times for a dose of spring. It is raining here this morning so no birdies are singing.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Oh that's good to hear Darla,
DeleteI'd explained to my daughter that I wanted to try to record the dawn chorus plus the woodpecker doing his thing, but every time I'd tried something would spoil it. She was staying here over the weekend and popped her phone out onto the window ledge as dawn broke to record it all.
I then had to fumble my way around taking it off my phone and getting it onto the blog via soundcloud (which I'd never heard about before).
Mastering these little techy challenges will hopefully help to keep me switched on! ;D
Thanks for stopping by...I'm really missing visiting so will try to catch up later.
Have a great week xoxo
wow, was the who the movie Brave heart was made from, very impressive statute! I hope you are well,
ReplyDeleteI am very well Laurie...and I'll pop over to you to see how you are as soon as I can.
DeleteI've missed you ;D
Have a great day and a wonderful week.
xoxo
Cool, sounds just like my backyard this morning! Really. We have a huge woodpecker and his mate laying claim to a dead oak tree in the back. Impossible to get a pic of them. I keep trying.. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the beautiful clear blue sky.
ReplyDeleteHmm...your garden and my garden sound the same??? You're still in Florida right? hehe
DeleteOak trees and woodpeckers...wow you could be here.
I too have tried to get a decent photograph of my two woodpeckers but they are very skitsy and camera shy but I'll keep trying.
I can't believe this weather...we're having another glorious one that I'm going to fully appreciate ;D
See you soon but in the meantime have fun and enjoy your week
xoxo
I'm sure Sir William appreciates the bright blue sky!
ReplyDeleteHoney on the Way
I bet he would...it would especially match the Saltire (one of Scotland's most recognisable symbols...Scottish flag...with it's blue background and white cross)
DeleteThanks for visiting my place and I hope you have a great week.
Sir William Wallace, definitely a great personality!
ReplyDeleteThere's such a huge amount of amazing facts written about him...some no doubt exaggerated eg he was somewhere between 6.6ft to 9ft tall. ;D
DeleteThanks for stopping by...I really appreciate it.
Have a fantastic week whatever you have planned.
What a treat that would be to visit Aberdeen, I am Scotch-Irish. I recently acquired a photo of an ancestor in a kilt.
ReplyDeleteWow...how exciting Hannah,
DeleteI love old photographs and looking into family ancestry.
I've managed to trace one side of my family back to 1738 and really should carry on tracing the other side.
I hope you'll post the photo of your kilt ancestor...I'd love to see it ;D
Have a super week ~ enjoy!
I've been to Aberdeen (ages and ages ago), but it was quite an unusual visit as we (me and my female friend) stayed at a B&B where some young male students also were staying. The landlady thought this was great so she put us together and I remember ending up in their car driving around the town. Well. Sir William was not on our mind that evening, I'm sorry to say.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll have to go back ;-)
LOL...what a giggle Anni ;D
DeleteYou minx!
I'm happy to hear you had 'fun' when visiting and yes I think you should revisit at some stage.
Have a wonderful week and thanks for your great comment. It made me chuckle
xoxo
Oh yes! I remember Braveheart! I didn't know they had a statue to William Wallace, but that makes perfect sense. Would make sense that there would be several of them around actually.
ReplyDeleteWe have had melty weather the past two days!! Whoohoo! :)
You're right Rita, there are several statues around Scotland for such a legendary figure ;D
DeleteWe are having yet another glorious sun filled day here so I'll be fully appreciating it pottering, planting and perusing in the garden once I've finished here.
I hope you continue to melt (somehow that doesn't sound polite but you know what I mean) Enjoy that springy feeling and I'll see you soon
xoxo
Hello Neesie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Wallace's statue against the beautiful blue sky, and thank you for your very kind comment.
Have a Happy Blue Monday!
It was the least I could do Sally,
DeleteI did feel rather awkward posting under the circumstances, but then I thought it might help in the coming week for you to see everyone's entries and caring comments.
Take care
xoxo
