It appears that winter has arrived.
The temperature today hasn't risen above 4 degrees celsius... so obviously I haven't been out for a photo shoot. Instead I chose to embrace the new craze of 'Hygge' and stayed cosy and warm next to the fire.
For those of you that might not have heard the word 'hygge' before, it's the Danish lifestyle craze... it's the word of the year apparently.
(a little like Feng Shui that became so popular a few years ago).
In essence, hygge means creating a nice, warm atmosphere with fires, candlelight, cosy blankets and not forgetting eating and drinking comfort food with friends and family.
So for my Sunday photo this week, I delved into my huge collection of photographs and came across this little chap.
He's one of my favourites and used to be a regular visitor to our patio when we were staying in Canada a few years ago.
Cute critter isn't he?
I'm linking up as usual with Photalife link.
I'm linking up as usual with Photalife link.
Have a cosy weekend and I hopefully will see you again soon.
Oh my that's adorable and I'm rather jealous of your snow layer
ReplyDeleteSorry Faye... that layer of snow was quite a downfall and was actually in Canada! We were there over the Christmas period a few years ago and they had the most snow for 27 years that Christmas... but it was really magical!
DeleteOh what a cutie! I have yet to get on the Hygge bandwagon, maybe I should!
ReplyDeleteWe have been embracing the Hygge way of life since we arrived in Scotland from Australia... we just didn't know it had a name.
DeleteWe have wood burners, open fires, fur blankets on sofa's and an aga to cook warming healthy casseroles and stews ;D
Lovely capture. Loving the Hygge idea
ReplyDeleteThanks... he was a gorgeous visitor every day.
DeleteI couldn't believe that he sat so sit whilst I tried to capture this shot.
He is lovely, I bet he has embraced Hygge back in his drey
ReplyDeleteI think you might be right there Catherine. He certainly seemed to know the good things in life... like visiting our patio where there was fresh food waiting for him each morning.
DeleteA beautiful photo, blimey you've had it cold
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Haha... no actually we haven't seen any snow yet Darren.
DeleteThis photo was taken whilst in Canada.
Thanks for hosting once again :D
Socute little guy, nice photo.
ReplyDeleteHave a hygge sunday :-)
Thanks Mascha, he was very cute especially with the ice on his nose.
DeleteWe are having Hygge days every day here as winter starts to take a hold.
Ah such an adorable pic and wow I struggling with 7 degrees at the moment x
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel Sarah because my tolerance level used to be 16 degrees!
DeleteI've had to rethink that one since being back here in Bonnie Scotland.
What a great photo! We never get close enough to catch them on film! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteI was very lucky with this little chap because he was more interested in having some peanuts and not my camera. I was behind glass but he came every day so it wasn't a one off shot. I had many blurred images before I managed to get this one.
DeleteSuch a gorgeous photo, and so lovely that he was a little regular #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteHe was Canadian and they had had the most snowfall in over 27 years, so he was very happy for us to give him a helping hand with some fresh nuts. He appeared every day and we felt very privileged to see him up close.
DeleteAww! What a cutie...Lovely photo! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, he was very sweet and cute. We got quite attached to him.
DeleteHe is gorgeous - I love the snow on his nose! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteYes that's my favourite photo for that very reason Sharon. I spent many times on my tummy lying on the floor trying to get the best photo I could and then one morning he just turned his face with those icicles covering his nose. So cute.
DeleteHe is so cute! I think hygge should be mynew word, love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, I have to admit he was adorable especially when he turned around with the icicles on his nose.
DeleteI didn't realise that I've been embracing the Hygge way of life since we came back from Australia. We just didn't know there was an actual name for it.
Oh, he is SO cute. He looks so fluffy! A great photo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria, I took quite a few photos of him before I managed to get this one. Thankfully he was wanting to eat more than being camera shy!
DeleteNever heard of hygge, but I love it already.
ReplyDeleteI remember the squirrel! :)
I certainly approve of the Hygge way of life during winter. I didn't realise we had actually adopted that way because we always have the wood burner and candles etc
DeleteDuring a Scottish winter we like nothing better than to hunker down and stay cosy!
What a super cute capture! It has been so cold lately - I think you have the right idea being all cosy indoors!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jade... I'm like a cat... I always gravitate to the warmest place in the house. Normally next to the wood burner!
DeleteAh cute. I've been taking squirrel photos today too
ReplyDeleteSnap! I hope you were successful. I'll have to pop over to your place to see how you got on Emma :D
Deletethat is one adorable squirrel. i love the whole idea of hygge. those clever Danes.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Sherry... but I never realised that I had embraced the Hygge way of life... it just seems to be natural here in Bonnie Scotland during winter!
DeleteI hope your storms have subsided and you're enjoying cooler temperatures now.
I keep seeing the whole Hygge hype about but never really looked into it. I do love the idea of being cosey though, especially in the winter. Love that squirrel photo!
ReplyDeleteYep it's definitely for me too especially as the Scottish winter starts to show it's hand. I think there's nothing better than to hunker down and wait for spring!
DeleteGreat capture #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, it took a few attempts but I was pleased with the results of this one.
DeleteSuch a cute little squirrel and love the snow! Embracing hygge sounds like a good plan :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise, he was so cute and I was pleased that I finally managed to get a decent photo of him.
DeleteI never realised that we had already embraced the Hygge way of life, but that's exactly what we do here in the North of Scotland. Hunker down and wait for spring!
odd considering how many trees are in the area, but we hardly see any squirrels (prob due to the cats) but the few se do see are Red ones :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet - he looks like he is warming his little hands.
