As the temperature dips and winter approaches I find myself dreaming of sandy beaches, pure crystal clear blue water, warm sunshine, stunning skies and scenery.
My mind wanders back to fantastic holidays whilst living in Australia... one particular favourite was when we visited New Zealand.
We made two separate trips... one to the North Island... and one to the South Island.
(If you'd like to see more of our New Zealand adventures then type New Zealand in my search box in my side bar of this blog. You'll see lot's of posts about our trips to both Islands)
Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve as it is known in Maori or Cathedral Cove as we knew it is located on the Coromandel Peninsula of the North Island and is accessible only on foot, boat or kayak.
It's a magnificent beach.
Thanks for joining me for a little flash back photo.
I'm going to link up with the Sunday Photo gang over at Darren's place if you'd like to see lots more photographs.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone
xx
Wow what a beautiful spot to sit and spend some time. No wonder you've been dreaming about being back there :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was a fantastic trip and I'd love to return one day.
DeleteWe seem to be heading into winter up here so it's nice to take check back on sunny locations.
Ah, this takes me back. Coromandel was one of the first places we went to when we were travelling around NZ. Beautiful beaches and scenery - and the best fish & chips we've ever had.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to know that someone else has visited too. We had a very special holiday there... I think I enjoyed every minute of it.
DeleteI loved New Zealand when we visited many years ago, it is somewhere I want to go back to one day. Gorgeous photo
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go back too one day... but it is an awfully long way from here! ;D
DeleteSuch a stunning picture, its looks like a beautiful place. I wrote about looking at sunny pictures this week too, I hope it helps you, it does me. Thank you for sharing x x
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Lisa, but then there were so many other beautiful places in both the North and South Island. We fell in love with it.
DeleteI didn't plan to post an old sunny photo but I came across them and couldn't resist.
I would love to visit New Zealand, definitely on my bucket list. This looks like such an idyllic spot, gorgeous photo x
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you do get to go there Sara, its a fabulous place.
DeleteThere are so many idyllic places and such stunning scenery that your camera would definitely be working overtime!
what a wonderful photo neesie. we love NZ and are hoping to go again early next year. such a glorious place.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just Sherry,
DeleteI would love to revisit, but it's such a long way from here that I'm not sure I'll ever take that trip. It was so easy from when we lived in Melbourne. That's why we went to both the North and South Island.
If you do go then I'll be keen to see your photo's.
So beautiful, New Zealand is a place I really want to visit soon. It looks stunning whenever I see it
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
It is stunning Darren, it's definitely a place that has something for everyone.
DeleteYou'd love it but your camera may get a little overworked! There's amazing scenery everywhere you look.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for hosting ;D
Wow that's a gorgeous photo, the sand looks so white and clean.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many amazing beaches like this one, but I particularly like this one because of it's limited access. We walked down so many steps from the clifftop, then under that cathedral arch to reach the beach. It was very special.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place. New Zealand is definitely on my bucket list of where I want to see #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI don't know of anyone who didn't love their visit to New Zealand. I think it's got something for everyone. It's amazing as a photographic destination too.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place to visit. It looks idyllic x
ReplyDeleteIt was fantastic Kim... I just wish I could be whisked away there now. Instead I'm sitting in a grey drizzly foggy day. Ho hum... it'll soon be spring! ;D
DeleteThat really is stunning. I've never felt the urge to travel, luckily I have top photographs like this to see the world by! x
ReplyDeleteAww bless you Jo,
DeleteI never had the wanderlust until my hubby came on the scene... then I traveled for 24 years. I think we're ready to settle now but you never know ;D
Oh my how gorgeous does it look there. Xx #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteThere are so many amazing places to visit both in the North and South Island. Beautiful scenery is all around you. I hope to go back there one day (although it's such a long way from here)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous photo and a wonderful place to visit. I have been day dreaming today too of warmer climates and beach holidays. There is definitely something in the air
ReplyDeleteIn the freezing air Zena,
DeleteWe only managed 6 degrees today, so it's not surprising we're dreaming.
I'm consoling myself with the fact that when we get to 21st next month, then the lighter nights are coming our way! Woohoo!
So beautiful - I am trying to be sick and the thoughts of being out in the warm sunshine sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
I hope you are feeling okay Sandy,
DeleteA bright but very chilly day here today... only 5 degrees Celsius (which I think is around 41 degrees Fahrenheit) No wonder we're dreaming about beaches, sun and sand!
Have a great week whatever your weather is... enjoy!
I could so do with being sat on that beach today
ReplyDeletemollyxxx
Oh me too Molly,
DeleteIt was only 5 degrees here and that beach just looks perfect right now.
