Thanks, I couldn't resist capturing them. It certainly does look real feast! I suppose with all of the wet weather we've been having it's hardly surprising they are in abundance. The rain is lashing down as I type... I honestly haven't seen this much rain since I was living in the tropics. But unfortunately we don't get the warmth to go with it!
Oh wow, I wondered what on earth this was a photo of from the thumbnail. It looked a bit like chains. I agree with you, it's beautiful. Happy new year (sorry I'm a bit late) :) #MySundayPhoto
Hehe... I do like to add mystery and intrigue Tara, I'm glad that you like it. Don't worry about being late with me because I am a 'tail-end Charlie' So Happy New Year to you. I hope 2016 is a great year for you
I know I haven't Cathy and that's what caught my attention. It just shows how damp our weather has been over the last few months. I hope you've had a wonderful weekend and have a great week to come.
I thought it would be a little different for my Sunday Photo... I like to try to find something interesting or out of the norm for this link. Hugs back Donna
I didn't know that and that's what I love about this Sunday link... you are guaranteed to see something you've never seen before or find out some interesting facts. Thanks for both the information and your visit. Have a great week.
I don't think I'd chance eating them, in fact I'm a bit of a wuss where wild mushrooms are concerned. I don't know enough about them, so I would leave them to experts.
I caught sight of the fungi on a walk through a place called Ness Botanical Gardens, whilst we visited with family for the Christmas holidays. I hope you've had a wonderful weekend and have a great week ahead. Maybe the rain might even stop if we're lucky!
Very cool texture. At first, I thought it was washing gushing thru drain pipes. After I enlarged the pics....lichen..lacy, frilly edged in white lichen!! How utterly beautiful. Isn't Mother Nature grand in this way! Thank you for sharing. And if I may, get your permission to use this in a piece of altered art (sometime in the future)? Hugs
Hehe... I'm so glad that you liked them Nan, Mother Nature always provides surprises... we just have to look out for them. I'm flattered that you want to use my photo and yes you most certainly can us it... on one condition that you let me see what you create! Deal?
neesie what a fabulous shot. so very pretty. that fungus looks like- well i don't know what but amazing. oh yes someone said flamenco dress- yes indeed.
Hehe... yep I agree with the flamenco dress idea too Sherry, I just thought it looked so unusual that I'd have to share it with everyone. I'm glad you like it.
I certainly had to take a second look at them when I passed by Sandy, I'm not sure about my eye, because things just jump out at me shouting... "take me, take me..." so it would be rude not to.
I get so excited to see you here and love to read your thoughts and comments. I always try to answer each one personally (I think it's only polite) ...♥...I truly appreciate your precious time here so thank you ...♥...
Great lichen!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly caught my eye Brooke, I just couldn't walk by without capturing them.

The patterns on these logs formed by the fungi are mesmerising - beautiful #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing aren't they... like lace.
DeleteIt just shows how much rain we've had!
That is so beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you think so Melody because I thought so too.
DeleteThe fungi is so pretty, a lovely contrast to the tree
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that the logs have lost so much of their bark and are shiny and smooth, adds to the contrast of the frilly fungi.
DeleteBeautiful. I recently photographed lichen on a log in a swamp near home.
ReplyDeleteWell we've had so much rain lately Laurie, that we nearly have a swamp now.
DeleteSuch a fabulous fungi formation. Great find!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I just caught sight of it out of the corner of my eye and obviously had to capture the image.

ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, I was pleased with the shot
DeleteWow, that's a lot of mushrooms on a couple of logs. They look really frilly, like a flamenco dress.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just Emma, I thought they looked frilly too but now you mention a flamenco dress... I think you're spot on there.
DeleteThis is the coolest picture! The colors are cool and there is even a bit of texture to it, if that makes any sense. Hah. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you Leslie, I pleased with the photo and what you say makes perfect sense to me.
