    1. Thanks, I couldn't resist capturing them.
      It certainly does look real feast! I suppose with all of the wet weather we've been having it's hardly surprising they are in abundance. The rain is lashing down as I type... I honestly haven't seen this much rain since I was living in the tropics.
      But unfortunately we don't get the warmth to go with it!

    1. I think the fact that the logs have lost so much of their bark and are shiny and smooth, adds to the contrast of the frilly fungi.

    1. I don't think I'd chance eating them, in fact I'm a bit of a wuss where wild mushrooms are concerned. I don't know enough about them, so I would leave them to experts.

      I've always liked mushrooms both to eat and draw, but I think these are the most unusual that I've ever seen.

    1. I caught sight of the fungi on a walk through a place called Ness Botanical Gardens, whilst we visited with family for the Christmas holidays.

  20. Very cool texture. At first, I thought it was washing gushing thru drain pipes. After I enlarged the pics....lichen..lacy, frilly edged in white lichen!! How utterly beautiful. Isn't Mother Nature grand in this way! Thank you for sharing. And if I may, get your permission to use this in a piece of altered art (sometime in the future)? Hugs
