He's in his element out there ;D
Have a great Sunday... hopefully a little more relaxed than this

  2. We are doing plenty of this with our guests piling through our logs in the evenings. Great capture

    1. We are having to get another delivery of wood next week. I was hoping that that would be it for this year.
Although I'll miss the fires I'm ready for a little alternative heat.
Thanks for stopping by... enjoy your Sunday and hopefully a little rest!

  3. Was surprised to see him still chopping! Mr. Sun has disappeared and I thought maybe it had run away up north to give you some warmth. :) :) Maybe mr. Sun will see you still have alternative heat and come back. We Need him!

    1. Yeah but he's addicted I think Nan, although we are still needing the fires. I've no idea where your Mr Sun has gone but we sure could do with him here. I saw him briefly, but maybe it was too cold for him to stop... he may have carried on to the South of France or Spain. I have to admit if he comes back this way, I'm hanging on to him... sorry!
We need him more I'm sure ;D

  4. Oh, but I can hear the clunk. Great photo.
Love log and coal fires, we'll have ours on in the evening for a long while yet.

    1. Yeah me too Sheila, it's much better than when the chain-saw's on the go!
Not exactly a quiet relaxing Sunday. We've got our fire going now as I like to just have it ticking over during the day.
Hopefully it'll not be needed soon.
Have a great Sunday (hopefully quieter than here) and thanks for stopping by to leave a comment ;D

    1. Thankfully not me... well not wood chopping anyway.
Even if I did want to do it I'd have to fight off my hubby to do it. Quite frankly... he's obsessed!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Sunday

    1. Someone would be very sad if he didn't need to do this job. I can imagine that he'll be sorting wood during the summer... just in prep for the winter ahead!
      I know... he has a problem :/
Hopefully you're having a peaceful quiet Sunday

I do like to have the fire ticking over but it would be good to have warmth from another source like the sun!!!
Thanks for popping into my place. I hope you're having a great Sunday

    1. Oh we call him Captain Safe here and although I wanted to get in nearer for the shot he wouldn't let me.
I like the sound of it being too warm... I'm sure it's not a senior moment.
      You're far too young ;D
Enjoy your Sunday and the warmth. If you can spare any I know someone who'd be very grateful

  11. It might be frosty on the ground, but I bet this is a good activity to warm everyone up!
Looks like wood chopping is down to a fine art in your household these days!

    1. Well he never seems to be cold Wren. Maybe I should give it a go as I'm always feeling chilled. I'd have to fight him for it though as it's his baby.
I think I'd probably like the chain-saw much better, but then it wouldn't warm the same.
He's had lots of practice so he should have it off to a fine art by now ;D
I hope you're enjoying your Sunday and if you've had enough warmth for today could you spare me a little... pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeese?

    1. We love our wood burner... so much so that we've put in another one now.
It is lovely especially when someone else does all the work... (hehe)
I'm not daft... I delegate that job ;D
Have a great Sunday and thanks for calling in to my place.

    1. Well I've had the fire lit all day and the weather report just stated there's hail and snow possible later in the week.
I do hope spring gets the memo and comes soon ;D

    1. A little of both Darren, although reports are coming in that they really aren't dry enough to burn for this year. But there's no need to worry because we have another delivery of logs coming next week.
It would be good to have a little more warmth other than the fire though.
      Roll on spring!
Have a great Sunday and thanks for hosting as well as visiting.
It must take up most of your day to get around everyone.

    1. Thanks Claire,
I think it helps keeping warm but I delegate this part of the process. I just enjoy the fires at the end ;D

  16. Fab pict, I can just hear the chop and smell the wood. Hopefully you won't need much more, or is it for storing? xx

    1. There are two huge piles of logs on either side of the wood burner now and I can tell you that the smell is fantastic.
I'm not sure what my hubby would do without this activity in his workout, but I am hoping that it gets warmer soon.
In the meantime I'll just settle down in front of the fire and enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by... have a great Sunday evening

Not a day goes by that I'm not thankful for being here, especially for leaving it to travel and always wondering if I'd return. Thankfully we did ;D
It's incredibly rural but we are only minutes from the city. We can see the sea, farmland and woods.
Thanks for popping in and I hope you'll visit again.
      Have a great weekend

    1. Oh I know... I love our wood burner. So much so that we've just put another one into another room. I can't comment on the getting warm whilst chopping the wood as I'm not allowed... my husband wouldn't let anyone take this chore from him. He loves it.
Personally, I think he might have a problem ;D
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment and I hope that you have a great weekend too.

Anyway I hope you have a lovely weekend without stress

I will miss the fire when (hopefully) it gets too warm but in the mantime we'll continue to enjoy it.
Thanks for calling by and I hope you're weekend is going well... have fun
