Love Nature Gouache Painting...PPF

Well here we are on the first day of Autumn and it's a beautiful warm sunny day.
Blue skies above with fluffy white clouds to complete the picture.
If this is how autumn is to carry on...I'm all in favour.
Goodbye Summer... sadly you were a huge disappointment.
If you had an end of term report it would probably read..."Must do better"
Remarkably this week I actually managed to have a play with my new Turner gouache paints.
I certainly learnt quite a lot using them.
For instance, when I use watercolour paints I seem to use them as gouache paint, but when I'm using gouache paint I use them as I would watercolours.
Does that make sense or is it gobbledeegook!
Basically, I don't think I use either particularly well.
I much prefer drawing in ink!
I'm completely aware that I seem to be neglecting my blog in favour of the quick and easy Instagram. Here's a photo I posted earlier this week.
I just loved his fluffy butt!
But hopefully life will settle down soon and I'll be able to spend more time visiting and writing posts.
I'm linking up with the Paint Party Friday gang.
Thanks Eva and Kristin for hosting once again.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thanks for your visit today.
It's always great to see you.

  1. wonderful this sketch I like this font with flowers!
    Happy weekend

  2. I,too, love Nature and you couldn't have said it any more beautifully than you have here. I agree summer was a disappointment. The weather was unpredictable and look how it ended in Texas. I sincerely hope fall is a kinder, gentler time :)

  3. this is such a beautiful illustration Neesie- I love it!! Sorry you didn't have a better summer. Ours was just perfect this year, and it continues. Happy PPF!

  4. This is such a gorgeous page! Happy PPF

  5. What a pretty painting. I too am looking forward to fall, although summer was perfect as far as weather goes here. Not so perfect as far as heart break, but it has been a time of healing.

  6. i love bee bums. Hehehe. Hugs my friend. Hope that moose is getting closer!

  7. I will have to follow you on instagram as I have been migrating that direction for quite awhile now as well... it is just so much easier to post and comment there ...

  8. What a fun painting!! :) I have also been more active on Instagram myself... seems the blogging world is falling behind which is a sad thing!

  9. If I remember right, I think males stay in the hive and females are the ones that go out and get nectar. Besides the queen, I always imagined most stinging bees to be male

  10. I think it is great! Love the flowers. Such a fun piece.

  11. Hi Neesie, I saw this on your Instagram (I know what you mean about neglecting the blog for Instaposts, me too!) but this painting looks so fabulous on the big screen, it has sharpened my resolve to do more posts! I do love your buzzy bee's bottom, that needs to be on a big screen too!
Here's to a big blogging week for us both!

  12. And a nice fuzzy butt it is too! :) Lovely coloring using your new paints. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs

  13. Nessie this is so pretty. It looks like it could be a poster for a movie.

  14. I used to use watercolour paints like gouache before I bought bigger brushes that hold a lot of water.seemed to help me a lot :)

def not going to complain about the nice weather, just that I go back to uni in a week and its not fare :p

  15. What a beautiful and cheerful painting Nessie! I post on Instagram daily and on Friday I blog. You are right, IG is quicker and easier but I would miss my blog connections if I quit.
