What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday...WOYWW #269...feathers

You aren't going to believe how quick I'm going to be this morning...this could be a gold medal if they awarded medals for short posts for WOYWW.
If you visited my blog yesterday, then you'll know I had a 'ME' day and as part of that self-indulging day, I nipped into the art room and had a play.
I had hoped to finish the feathers but time ran away with me.
I'm hoping to nip back in there sometime today to carry on painting.
I've got a few appointments first so it'll be a squeeze but one I'm willing to make.
The feather appeared under one of the trees in our garden yesterday.
I'm not sure who lost it...maybe a buzzard perhaps, but if you know what bird it would belong to then I'd be really interested to hear from you.

If you're unsure what WOYWW is all about, then click here and you'll be transported to Julia over at Stamping Ground.

So that's it for today folks...

Have a brilliant day!

I feel like I'm always publishing unfinished work to WOYWW. I hoped to finish the feathers in time to link up but I'm afraid I ran out of time (Quelle surprise!)
Hugs and Happy WOYWW to you too xoxo

Yep the view is great and one that I'll never take for granted,,, but it can be a little distracting at times ;D
Sorry for my delay in visiting but I'll probably be on my way over to you in the morning, so a fresh cuppa would be great.

I'm trying to find out who left it for us but think it's most probably a buzzard.
Thanks for your lovely comment and for visiting my place.
I hope you have a great day too

  8. The feather is gorgeous, not at all like the plain boring feathers one usually finds. It reminds me of the owl feather I found once but much smaller. An owlet perhaps? Great job painting up the feather too! Judy #76

I just hope I can do it justice when I get to finish painting it ;D
I found a black feather with white dots on it a few weeks back and identified it as one from a woodpecker. We have a few baby woodpeckers visiting our bird feeders.
Oh I'd love an owlet to visit. I'll keep an eye out just in case.
Enjoy WOYWW Judy and I'll visit you soon

  12. Great painting! At first I thought, what crafting, your desk is empty and too tidy for crafting! But then I saw the painting. (less different materials and smaller tools). It looks like a peacefull and sort of meditational way of crafting. Calming, that was the word I was looking for. Would be nice if I could craft calmly, but I am a chaos crafter I think...

    1. I know my desk freaks some crafter/artists who visit due to it never really being messy or full on, but it's the only way I can work. Maybe it would help my painting if I loosened up a little but it's a lifetime's work to change now ;D
It was very peaceful mainly due to the fact that I'd actually shut up for a while (which doesn't happen very often) because my daughter was working on another desk. I was aware in order to share the space I needed to keep quiet. She was working on a particular tricky piece of art.
It is a lovely room so it's not a hardship.
Thanks for popping by...I hope you have a great day and enjoy WOYWW

The old desk is my daughters and the paint splattered chair belonged to my Grandmother. It's a complete new set up so we're still settling in.
I'm thrilled to hear your reaction to the feathers because I always want to loosen my paintings but never in my mind seem to achieve it.
I hope you're able to play too.
      Happy WOYWW

    1. Hi Margaret and I've missed you too ;D
No we still are unsure who lost the feather although I'm leaning towards the buzzard.
I know I haven't been a regular visitor to WOYWW with so much going on here trying to reclaim our home and summer but I hope to give a little more time to art soon.
I seem to be saying that quite a lot but I'm more convinced I mean it now.
Have a great day and God bless you too

  19. I have no clue what kind of bird feather that is (well, it's not a turkey I can tell you--LOL!), but it is stunning and I can see why you wanted to paint it. I hope you got time to steal away to paint and that you wlll show us when you are finished. :)

    1. LOL...what a giggle Rita. I've now got a vision of a big fat turkey sitting in my tree!
I'm pretty sure it's a buzzard's but it has been suggested it might be an owl. I heard an owl in spring but none since, so it's unlikely.
Anyway...today I finished painting them and I've just posted it for everyone to see. No doubt it'll come to you because if I remember rightly you receive my posts via your email, so they'll be a slight delay ;D
Enjoy your Friday night and have a wonderful weekend

Thanks for your lovely comment and visit.

  21. I love the idea that you found something so inspiring that it's worth squeezing some more time out of the day to make art. And want art, gal, your feathers are gorgeous....doesn't matter if it's a work in progress for us deskers, it's just nice to see it when it's finished as well!

I have good news because today I squeezed a little more time and finished it.
I've just posted it but will try to let the WOYWW gang see it next week
