The Chicken or Egg...PPF

So which came first...the chicken or the egg?
I've been having a little more fun with my art this week.
Although I haven't had much time, I did manage to try out something new.
I started with a water blob on my paper...then blended a few colours and finally I tried blowing the paint outwards with a straw. It was more difficult than I thought and I was quite out of puff when I'd finished.
When I looked at the results I saw a little chicklet!
(Maybe with the worst bad hair day or been caught in an electrical storm)
I know we're getting 'cluckling mad' around here.
I promise I'll try to bring you nothing referring to chickens/hens next week!

Talking of being mad... we had a rainy few days and worryingly hubby was online.
I'm always nervous when he spends time browsing the internet because I never know what's coming next. Quite literally... and here's what arrived in a huge truck yesterday!
To give you some idea of their size I am 5'.4" and they are shoulder height to me!
My son thought that the driver had possibly had a wee tipple which concerned him, being a driver, but he didn't know that the barrels had previously contained whisky!
Our garage now smells like a distillery!
I'll be revealing more details as this next crazy antic gets underway.
Retirement has a lot to answer for!

And finally because this has to be a quick post today, as my daughter arrives for the weekend in a few hours. I thought that I'd show just how cute my little wee Muffin figurine is that +Nic McLean created for me. Some have asked what size it is...so here's an indication.
If you'd like to see more of this figurine then click here or visit Nic here
❤ I adore it
Have a great weekend peeps...whatever you have planned.
Have fun!
I'm linking into the Paint Party Friday as usual.
Please pop along if you'd like to see lots more art from all over the globe.
Happy Friday Everyone
😊

    1. Thanks Valerie, I'm still visiting from last week and I'm having internet problems this week, so everything is a trial.

  5. What ... my hair looks like that all the time, Ha! Just kidding, your chick is adorable. So I think you must be in the early stages of retirement if you are still bringing in antics ... we are in the getting rid of stage as our children have no interest in what we have and wouldn't know what to do with them if they did inherit them. You might want to think aboput that as it isn't easy to get rid of stuff ... take it from me. Have an enjoyable week (can you get tippsy by inhaling the fumes in your garage?

  8. LOVE the chick Neesie - clever you. I have tried a similar technique using the empty barrel of a Bic ball point pen - you know, the basic ones with a little stopper in the top and a pull off lid. It seems to work a bit easier as your 'puff' is channelled into a narrower exit - if that makes sense? Anyhow, you did brilliantly! Of course I adore the wee figurine of Muffy, absolutely darling and what a lovely thing for Nic to do.

And, I'm going to make a guess at those barrels. Now you've said how tall they are, I'm wondering if they might be destined to be a couple of garden wrap around chairs after some careful sawing by your hubby? Ha, if they are you could end up being slightly tipsy - just sitting in them :)

  12. I'm so glad you got little Muffster. Nic is awesome. I'm guessing rain barrels will somehow work their way around your down s pouts and help keep your garden hydrated. Ahh retirement! Have a great weekend my friend.

  13. Denise, your little chick is darling. I love blowing air through a straw at alcohol inks on slick paper. You never know what will appear. Your little Muffin figurine is precious. Nic does such good work. Will the whiskey barrels be planters or rain barrels?

  18. I don't know where to start - I guess with the little statue of Muffin - amazing for the little statue has captured Muffin's spirit!
On a lighter note - I love your little chicken -- couldn't help but laugh - a cute little baby chick and right above a picture of scrambled eggs!!!!!!
    Love this post Denise.
