My Sunday Photo... Cosy Toes

With an arctic wind blowing a hoolie around the house, what better photo could I have for My Sunday Photo than one of our wood burner blasting out beautiful warmth with gorgeous flickering light.
It never ceases to bring me pleasure.
For anyone who needs or misses an open fire...here's the video below...

My Sunday Photo... Where's Spring gone?

Today was a terrible day weather wise, so I didn't manage to get out and about to capture any spring-like photo's for My Sunday Photo.
Muffin knew where to find the best seat in the house.
This photo was taken in the late afternoon... hence the grainy dark image.
It sums up the day perfectly.
I'm sure that they'll be some bright sun filled photo's over at Photalife.com
Thanks for visiting my place and I hope the sun shines for you
Enjoy your Sunday

My Sunday Photo... Autumn Synopsis

This may not be the best photo, but in my defence it was such a dull grey day, so I suppose the result is not surprising.
I thought I'd show you a synopsis of where we are at this moment in time.
Autumn is just getting into full swing after a very mild start, so the trees are only just putting on their colourful display and as you can see here some plants are still flowering.
I've started to take the tender plants inside, just in case a sneaky frost creeps in to visit during the night, but it's such a shame whilst they are looking so healthy.
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.
The Virginia Creeper has been virtually changing colour right before our eyes.
I couldn't help thinking that this next photo looks like a string of hearts.
I love those little love hearts on the top right of the photo.
As you can imagine with the weather turning chillier and a wood fanatic on the premises, there's a fair amount of wood management going on.
Sourcing, stacking, sawing and standing back to admire your handy work.
I did wonder when I saw this pile, if my hubby was expecting rain... a lot of rain.
It looks like a raft!
These logs haven't seen the chainsaw yet.
They have just been raised off the ground for now, so that they don't rot over winter.
We have a full wood store with prepared logs and we're not afraid to use them... daily!
Our wood burner is doing a grand job of keeping the house cosy and there's nothing more homely than having a fire flickering away on such a dull day.
And finally here's a shot of the sky to show you just what I meant when I said we have had a grey day!
I'm linking up with My Sunday Photo
Thanks for visiting

Decoration or devastation?

I can't believe that it's been over a week since I last blogged.
So what have I been up to...???
Up and down ladders fighting with Christmas fairy lights... or decorating the house from top to toe for the Christmas holiday... or dashing around the shops participating in rugby style tackles for those last minute pressies and bargains... or planning menu's for the big day... or...
pulling out a fireplace to install a new wood burner which caused a snowdrift an inch thick of dust in every nook and cranny of the house.
Yep that'd be the one (will I ever learn... apparently it appears not)
I'm not sure if this is the reno carried over from Phase 1 or the beginning of Phase 2
Well when the main man says can we come to start work on your fireplace this week, what can you say?
Yes of course I'd like nothing better.

Here's the evidence...
Impressive isn't it?
But at least the sun was shining...
And finally the mess started to clear...
I just kept my fingers crossed that it'd be completed in time to get everything in order before Christmas Eve.
We just need a little plastering here a bit of painting there...
A maiden flight...
and voila!
Now the mad panic to get the furniture back in... plus adding a little Christmas magic.
No problem... there's plenty of time right!!!
(hyperventilating hysterically here...)

I'll hopefully get there...
and then I'll be able to come back to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
