I've scored a hat trick...whoohoo...

I've always thought that I'm quite lucky...but today it has been confirmed!
Nope, still no lotto win...(well I can't expect to win really can I, especially if I don't buy a ticket!)

Why am I grinning like a Cheshire cat?
Well, I have received three separate gifts from friends...how special is that?
And it isn't even my birthday!
Two actually winged their way into my post box today.
So of course I had to maximize the pleasure...I sat armed with a cuppa and a large white chocolate freckle that I bought at a Chocolatiere over the weekend.
(More about that on my next post...once I get the photos to co-operate and transfer over...it's a work in progress and it's protesting at the moment...maybe I need to eat more chocolate instead of looking at it?
I'm not going to show you the pressies because some things I like to keep to myself...they are special and personal to me.
Oh okay...you've twisted my arm...
I'll show you just one...
How fantastic are these babies?!?!

I'm thrilled and excited but terrified all at the same time because I'm now going to have to use them...eek!
I don't want to rush it, so I'll wait until I get back from our next trip.
Oh yes our trips...
Last weekend, we went to the Yarra Valley for wine tasting and the weather was just perfect.
Quite fantastic for autumn...beautiful warm sunny days and crisp nights.
The wine was incredible and we had a brilliant weekend staying right in the middle of a vineyard.
I'll share a little of the trip with you soon.
In the meantime, I've got to repack only this time for chilly climes because we're off again tomorrow.
I know...there's no stopping us...and it's a wonder I find my way home.

I can't believe that even though I've been busy and I missed the APR entry time... I did manage and enjoyed a little doodle in my journal. I don't normally like to show unfinished work but I thought today I'd be brave.

I couldn't decide if I should zentangle him or not...and then I thought I'd like to try and add those fantastic peacock plumage colours...because let's face it that is what peacocks are renowned for.
What do you think?
I took a whoosie approach and thought I'd photograph him at this stage, just in case he doesn't make the grade on the next stage...or it all goes pear shaped!
I'm going to add colour because I feel that a peacock's main feature are those amazing colours...plus I love them. I'm just hoping I can reproduce them. Wish me luck!
Why a peacock? Well...peacocks were the topic for last week's APR challenge...so if you'd like to see some more artists work then click here to visit Jenn's Artist Playroom.
I hope to visit the gang myself soon although times flying by and I actually fly out myself tomorrow!

I hope you have a lucky day too...with lots of surprises....
keep smiling or better still pass it on Emoji

  1. wow, that is amazing Denise. I cannot imagine the patience it takes to do something like this in black and white. I know when I was doing the stamp designing for Imagination Crafts my eyes used to go really wonky with just black and white! Well done you! Congrats on the gifts, too. Can't wait to see what you create! xxoo

    1. Thank you for your lovely kind words Marie, I find drawing these designs so relaxing and enjoyable but I have to admit they do play with your eyes.
I've still got so many designs fighting to get out...I just hope my eyes last out!
Have a great week..hopefully you're now seeing signs of spring ;-)

  2. Enjoy your presents! Your drawing is lovely. You seem to be a very busy lady just now - have fun! Valerie

    1. Busy, busy indeed Valerie, but that's the way I like it!

  3. Wonderful peacock Neesie! Colour on him will be fabulous and you don't need luck, cos you can do it easy :) As for your prezzies, wow-whee, you are a lucky lady (curious as to the others tho, hehe (I'm naturally nosy...er, curious, haha)
Ooh, a plane has just taken off into that lovely sunset, haha. I was just going to say I think it must be a busy airport.
Enjoy your evening Neesie and enjoy your trip (again - cor, I'm jealous lol) :0) Mo x

    1. It's okay for you to say that Mo ;D
I'm going to wait until I feel brave enough to add the colour...or maybe after I've had a glass of wine?!?!

Okay I'll put you out of your mysery about my other pressies but only because I like you...they were fantastic art prints, cards and a beautiful keyring that had everything that I love on it!

      Hugs Neesie

  7. Great peacock, anxious to see him in color. The brushes you received as a gift look really interesting.

    Enjoy your travels.

    1. I have similar paintbrushes from my silk painting and calligraphy days. But that big dude in the photo above is certainly going to be interesting...getting to know him! ;D
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to visit soon, although I'm away just now...I've just snook on-line whilst no-one is looking! LOL
Have a great week and I'll look forward to seeing what you've been creating soon

  8. The pooches in the last post look very happy together and a perfectly mischievous pair...and you are a lucky thing getting all sorts of goodies... I received a lovely surprise in the mail just before we went away and it made me smile the whole time we were away...and your bird is really lovely... not sure he needs any tangling... think he looks wonderful as he is...xx

    1. Oh I hope you had a lovely time whilst you were away...is it all over so soon?
I think I can guess what you received in the post ;D

Nah..I'm not going to tangle the peacock...I just thought that perhaps I'd like to give him some colour...when I'm feeling brave enough that is! Or not!

I dread to think what those two mooches are up to at the moment, but I'm away so I'll not think about that now. I'll no doubt hear all about it when I get back ^..^
      Catch up with you soon.
In the meantime have fun xoxo

  9. Oh, I want to see your peacock in full royal color!
I have dabbled in chinese ink painting just a little bit--tried some bamboo and orchid painting. How did you get interested in it? Looks like you have a good set of brushes to begin your journey. Have fun! It's like another world of art! :)

    1. I hope to add the colour but just not sure when I'll get the time at the moment ;D
I first came across silk painting when we lived in Brunei. I had such fun learning the techniques and then after a few months found myself taking the class.
It was great fun helping people discover a new skill.
I'm hoping to get back into it but I need some new supplies first.
      Another thing on my list!
I've got an old favourite brush that has been on the journey with me...but I'm sure the new ones will join in equally as well.
I'd love to see your dabbles...I'm sure they're more than a dabble! ;D
Have a wonderful week and enjoy whatever you have planned.
Thanks for popping by...I hope to see you soon :D
