Hellooooo....remember me?
How you doing? It's great to see you again....
It's been so long since we chatted but as you may or may not know I've been living in another dimension.
Hopefully after this weekend I'll be back on some sort of even keel.
Well that's the plan anyway.
So basically just a quick update today...
We packed up and left Melbourne...arrived to the wonderful meet and greet from our family for a week...then on to our daughter for an overnight stay before finally arriving home (wow that sounds very surreal)
Literally upon our arrival the 40ft container of furniture arrived on the driveway...although that's not strictly true. It couldn't make it onto the driveway so had to park up further down the lane and unload to a smaller van for that final leg of the journey. What a drama but that's for another day.
We are currently living in a sea of packing boxes which by some strange phenomenon hasn't diminished in anyway...or that's how it seems even though we've been working from dawn to dusk.
260 boxes in total...argh...where and when did I get all this stuff.
And to think I thought I'd downsized too!
But like most things in life there's always something to make you stop and be thankful for admist all the chaos and here's a peek at what I saw from my back window on our first day...
Yes...that is blue sky and I promise I haven't used photo shop. In fact everyday since we've arrived back in 'Good Old Blightly' the weather has been fantastic.
I hope you're sitting down when I tell you that it even reached 30 degrees celsius one day!
And so our first day back reacquainting ourselves with our home comes to a close...it's been an exhausting day but a good one.
I think this view might be a regular feature on my posts as the weather and seasons change...
Anyway this is a quick post this morning because today we are off to a fairy tale wedding in a Scottish castle.
I would just like to say thank you to everyone for all our kind wishes and comments. It's been lovely to know that you are there, but I just couldn't manage to reply.
But I hope to rectify that soon.
In the meantime take care and I hope to see you again soon...I've got so much to show and chat about.
Toodleloo for now
I'm here Sweetie! Glad you are safely back - have fun with unpacking, and sooner or later it will all be finished. The view from the window is wonderful! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteFUN!!! Oh yes Valerie we're having so much fun! :$
Delete260 boxes nearly unpacked...or at least peeked in to.
I think it might take us some time to get organised and have things as we would like...but at least we are a little clearer now.
I'm actually sitting looking out of the window at that view, as I type. It's not a bad way to end a busy day.
No television yet, but we've hardly noticed it. Who needs it with that view? There's always something to watch! At the moment the rabbits are dashing about in the field. I just hope they stay there because I do have plans and don't want Peter Rabbit coming to call...especially into my carrot patch!
It's great to hear from you again...I'm hoping to be able to snatch the odd few minutes online here and there, so will be able to catch up with everyone.
xoxo
Hey lovely! So glad you are back and 'home' again. What a fab view and I look forward to seeing it change over the seasons!. I was talking about you to my mum yesterday saying how since you got back in the UK it's been fab weather! Amazing really to think this time last year we had floods and so much rain!! Well I hope the unpacking goes smoothly. We'll catch up soon. Take care Zo xx
ReplyDeleteHi there Zo,
DeleteI'm glad that you realise we brought this fabulous weather with us because it was quite a task I can tell you...but well worth it! ;D
It's been the same on every holiday that we've had over this last year...the weather has been great even when it wasn't supposed to be and although this time it isn't a holiday we're loving it!
We've even had al-fresco dining over the last two days! I NEVER thought we'd be able to do that.
See...never say never eh?
I hope to pop over to visit you soon. In the meantime enjoy the summer and sunshine :D
xoxo
Beautiful views - so glad you have brought the lovely weather with you!! x Jo
ReplyDeleteNot bad is it Jo?
DeleteI really can't believe it after hearing all the weather reports before we arrived. I hope it lasts until at least September, but I feel I may be being a little ambitious there ;D
I can't believe the light nights either...I'd obviously forgotten about them.
Thanks for stopping by...and I hope to visit you soon
xoxo
Hello! Of course I remember you. I'll always remember your beautiful snowy trip to Canada for Christmas too. We will chat soon!
ReplyDeleteHello Debbie,
DeleteI'll certainly remember that Christmas trip to Canada too!
At the moment our next adventure is unfolding and I hope to share lots with you soon.
Just grasping a few minutes online here and there for now but hope to resume normality soon! HA! (that'll be the day!)
Catch up with you soon but in the meantime thanks for popping by...I really appreciate it ;D
xoxo
Ah, that's a proper English view!! :)
ReplyDeleteWell actually it's a Scottish view Laura...hehe ;D
DeleteIt's wonderful but can be a little distracting I have to say. I find myself constantly looking out there and there's always something to catch my attention.
Thanks for stopping by...it's great to see you again :D
Have a great week and I hope to catch up with you again soon.
xoxo
What a fantastic view you have. So glad you made it safely to your home. How did my friend, Mufifn, do with the travels?
ReplyDeleteThanks Boo, I'm also glad that everything went so well :D
DeleteYou wouldn't believe just how well Mufftypup managed that journey and all the changes that have been part of her everyday life in the last three weeks! ^..^
It just shows you how resilient they can be...as long as their bowl is topped up regularly and they are with you then life carries on just the same! Just a different location! I'll be posting more about her travels soon.
There was a little 'fraca' this morning, when a cat appeared under the coffee table in the family room...oh boy did both cat and dog move!
Not sure where he belongs but he certainly wasn't welcome with Muffy! :$
Anyway must dash as I want to get to everyone and I'm trying to draft a new post too...It's all go! hehe
xoxo
Well hello there ma quine! How lovely to have you back on native soil and how kind of you to bring the weather with you, it's been sorely needed up here. Whilst we've been lucky without the extremes of weather, the sun has been poorly lacking. So I thank you ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are haveing a lovely time at the castle, (get you!), and the sn is still shining for the happy couple. I ws at a wedding in Gretna last month and it rained everyday except the wedding day when it was glorious. Wonderful!
Wish I could pp over to helo with the unpacking but with school on holiday for what seems an eternity, I have a six tear old to entertain/keep out of mischief/prevent from being bored/etc, I know you know what I mean. However, I do have today to myself whilst he's in your neck of the woods for the day. So I'm off to create something *shoulders shrug* whilst I have peace. See ya later ;) xx
I'm so glad that you are enjoying the weather Mo, because let me tell you it wasn't easy having it sent by sea freight. It was an extortionate price too, but well worth it I think! ;D
DeleteThe wedding was just like a fairy tale...the bride and groom looked so happy. It was a perfect day and one I'll remember. I'll be posting about it once I get my act together. I've got so much catching up to do.
I certainly remember the trials and tribulations of school holidays, so I'll let you off...besides we've made real progress with the 260 boxes. The air freight is due to arrive soon, so we've still got a little way to go yet...but we're getting there.
I don't think we'll be straight for a year or so, but there's no hurry.
I can't get over these light nights and they've caught us out because we've been working away then realise we're about to collapse and it's way past bed time!
The morning light is waking us at 4.00am too, so it feels like we're still working our way through jet lag!
Good luck with the rest of the holidays and I'll pop over to see you soon. Thanks for stopping by...it's great to hear from you
xoxo
Hi Neesie
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you made it safely to the other side What a lovely view from your back door, it is good to be able to picture you hard at work, with blue skies and 30 degree days. I am sending you love and magic sprinkles to help those boxes disappear! Wrenxx
Aww thanks Wren, I must say I didn't expect to have the weather quite like this. We've even managed al-fresco dining for the last three nights and it looks like we'll be doing the same again tonight. It's positively freaky.
DeleteI thought we'd be lucky if we managed one or two throughout the whole summer!
By the way your magic sprinkles are good because we've managed to get through most of the boxes (even if it is only to peek in)
The air freight was due to arrive today but so far hasn't but at this stage I'm not too bothered. I've got boxes before my eyes and I need a little rest!
I hope to visit you soon and also to get back to posting...I've got so much to show and tell! hehe
Thanks for you lovely comment and I hope your magic sprinkles makes light work of all your chores this week :D
xoxo
My oh my, this is one stellar view out your window! Hearing about England instead of Melbourne is going to take a little getting used to....so glad you're home and starting to settle in. I know what a big chore it is to move and unpack and find a place for everything but it's also quite rewarding....especially when you're "home". Good to hear from you again!
ReplyDeleteIt's a view that I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing Terrie, but I know what you mean about having posts from here and not Melbourne.
DeleteIt's going to take some time to get used to for me, never mind my visitors! ;D
Thankfully I have got that sense of 'home' already and it feels good. I didn't want to leave this house in the first place, so it's a great feeling to be back. I've fell in love all over again! ;D
Thanks so much to popping by and leaving a lovely comment. It's great to hear from you.
I hope all is well with you and yours...take care until we chat again.
xoxo
What a beautiful sight! I will love seeing pics of the sky across the fields. So happy that you are finally there and can slowly settle in. I can believe it's 86 there if we've been around 90 over here in Fargo. Been a warm summer. Enjoy the wedding!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rita,
DeleteSorry to take so long in replying. I can't think what I've been up to to keep me so busy! LOL
I really can't believe this weather either...we've had al-fresco dining for the last six nights! I don't think I can ever remember it being like that before. I thought we'd left all of that back in Melbourne...but there you go! ;D
We did have a fantastic time at the castle wedding. It was just like a fairy tale which I hope to post about soon.
Just got the 260 boxes emptied and then the air freight arrived today! Not too many so we're nearly done.
Great to see you and thanks for stopping by.
I hope to be online more from Monday onward, so my nip over to you soon.
In the meantime...enjoy your day...whatever you get up to.
Say 'hi' to Karma ^..^
xoxo
What a beautiful place you've moved to! It all sounds very exciting! The wedding you're going to today sounds fun too...even magical. I look forward to more posts and more pictures. Good luck with unpacking and settling in. Have a terrific weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
DeleteThanks for popping by...I really appreciate it, especially when I haven't had to chance to visit anyone for what seems like years!
But I plan to rectify that next week ;D
The wedding was beautiful and set in a perfect location, which I hope to share with you soon.
I've also been snapping so many photos...so I better get a wriggle on next week. It'll be easier then because we will be set up with our internet.
Have a fantastic weekend too
xoxo
Hi Nessie, Welcome home and you brought the hot weather too....has wee Muffin arrived yet!!! Have fun unpacking it wont be too bad once you going I'm sure.... Have a super time at the wedding...Boy o Boy may I say what a view you have from your window...simply Beautiful!! Enjoy... Hugs May x x x x
ReplyDeleteWell hello there May,
DeleteThank you for the lovely welcome home ;D
Yes it was a little tricky bringing the weather but I thought it would be worth it! Everyone seems to be very appreciative so blow the expense...it was worth it!
Muffin's been incredible ^..^ You wouldn't believe just how well she's adapted but I intend to write a post about her, so you'll hear all about it soon.
I also plan a post about the beautiful wedding too. It was a fantastic venue and everything was like a fairy-tale. So far removed from my own wedding day! But that's another story...hehe.
The view is spectacular isn't it? I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of looking at that. I'd forgotten just how special it is.
It's great to share it with you :D
Have a wonderful weekend and I'll be up and running visiting soon.
xoxo
Oh there ypua re, safe and sound from long travels! happy new home, so glad you're here!
ReplyDeleteYep we're all home and dry Julia...well dry! ;D
DeleteHow about this weather? Are you enjoying it?
It cost an arm and a leg to freight across but so worth it don't you think? One of the removal guys said that they haven't had weather like this for SEVEN YEARS!
Thank goodness it's here now to make our transition less painful.
We get our full internet access on Monday, so hopefully I'll be able to get back into the swing of things then.
In the meantime have a wonderful weekend whatever you have planned. Enjoy xoxo
I would stare at that view all day long. Beautiful photos !
ReplyDeleteHi Marianne,
DeleteThat's the trouble I'm finding that I am...and before I know it the times slipped by. But it's good to stop and appreciate these things ;D
I plan to take a photo of it each month, so that you can see the transition from month to month and season to season.
Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate you comment.
Have a super weekend enjoying the weather.
Have fun :D
xoxo
so exciting.... looking forward to seeing more glorious pics....and pics of a scottish castle too might be fun... :)
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Cynthia♥
Hi Cynthia,
DeleteGreat to see you again. ;D
Yes I've got masses of photos lined up as usual. We will be up and running on full power or should I say internet access from Monday onwards so I'll be able to share more with you then.
The wedding will be in there somewhere as it was such a special day.
Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you soon.
xoxo
Hello, I need to wave at a different part of the world for it to reach you now. Your view is spectacular. I'd love to see the house. I'll bet you will have those boxes unpacked in no time.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Not sure about unpacking in no time Darla...it's taken a full week! But at least I feel there's light at the end of the tunnel now.
DeleteThe air freight arrived yesterday, so that's the last of it. I really don't know where all this stuff came from. We seriously declutter with each move but somehow we still had over 260 boxes!
I need to rethink which way I need to turn to wave back at you too.
Have a great weekend whatever you get up to and I'll visit you soon.
xoxo
Wonderful! I love the view from your window and I love the idea that you will make it a regular post! Best wishes for starting your "new life"!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for you kind lovely comment Stefanie,
DeleteI think it might be interesting to show the view each month...that way I'll capture the weather and the changing seasons. Well it's a thought. ;D
I hope all is well with you and after we get connected to the internet on Monday I'll be back up and running as per usual.
Enjoy your weekend xoxo
Hi Denise,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you are home if not quite settled yet.
Was thinking that it might be the weekend for the wedding- looking forward to seeing the photos from that! Keep enjoying that nice weather,
Love Wilma xx
Thankfully we're getting there Wilma,
DeleteJust the air freight to unpack and then that's all the boxes sorted (or at least looked at and stored). I think it'll take us a few years to get everything as we would like but there's no rush ;D
The wedding was just fabulous. The Castle and church were perfect to offset a fairy-tale wedding. We stayed in the stables which were perfectly located too. I've got photos so will be posting about it soon.
Have a wonderful weekend whatever you get up to...have fun.
Chat soon xoxo
Hi Neesie; Welcome Home! Hope the transition has not been too traumatic. We laid on the best weather we could, in order to make your transition that much easier...
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark, it's great to be here ;D
DeleteThe weather has been incredible but I thought I packed it in my freight but however it's come about...I'm so grateful!
Can you believe we've ate our evening meal outside for the last six nights, which has been so unexpected. We thought we'd left all of that behind in Melbourne.
One of the packing chaps said that they haven't had weather like this for SEVEN YEARS!
We keep pinching ourselves because it all just seems so unreal.
I just look out at the vast wasteland of my potential veggie plot and groan. It's going to be tough work as you know, so I think we'll leave it for later! Although maybe we could manage to pop some tatties in for our Christmas dinner :D
Enjoy the weather this weekend and keep busy watering your plot!
xoxo
Glad to hear you've arrived at your nest and are settling in, Neesie. Yes, we're out here. We hear you! I wish you well. ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteHello there Zuni,
DeleteI'm so glad that you are there and have taken the time to comment. I really appreciate it ;D
Yep we've landed in the nest and trying desperately to find a home for what appears to be masses of bits and pieces! Where did I get all this stuff from I have no idea and to think I declutter each time we move!
It's a good job that this place has lots of room to hide things.
I'll be posting more soon and hope to nip across to your nest too.
In the meantime...have fun and enjoy your week! :D
xoxo
Glad to see you made it safely. How's Mufty pup doing? It looks fabulous over there, such a glorious view and even warm weather for you too. You must be miles away now as your blog post didn't show up on my computer until today!! Enjoy putting all your bits and pieces away and getting rid of some of those boxes. Will write soon.
ReplyDeleteLuv Von xx
Yep we're here Von and guess what? So is the lovely summer weather! lol
DeleteSee you just have to have faith in these things! ;D
Muffy is doing so well and in fact you wouldn't think she's been anywhere else. It's absolutely incredible to think she did that journey all on her own and has coped so well with three weeks of craziness. But then she does live with us, so I suppose she's used to it!
The boxes have left the building (well they're outside and in the garage truth be told) so we're looking a little straighter.
When you're ready come and pop over...I'll have a cuppa waiting!
The internet is being connected today, so that's a big tick...and I can't wait. We've all been sharing a dongle and it hasn't been pretty! :$
I have missed visiting so will hopefully rectify that soon
xoxo
She swoons.. she sighs... she actually places her hand upon her brow!! Why? Because she was so sure that the first photos she saw would look EXACTLY like a scene from Lark Rise to Candleford!!And they do!! Oh my!! I. Am. Soooooo. Envious (insanely jealous really!) ... on the other hand I am happy to hear you are safe and settling. Cannot wait to hear/see/devour more!! xx
ReplyDeleteHehe...what are you like Angy? ;D
DeleteI'm so glad that my first photo lived up to your high expectation!
You'd better brace yourself because there's more to follow. Even better dare I say, especially a Scottish Castle fairytale wedding!
I'll be posting more after today's internet connection is sorted. It's not been pretty sharing a dongle!!!
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you will continue to have the 'Lark Rise' and 'Candleford' experience. (Dare I admit I've never even watched them...BUT I WILL...just so that I know what I'm up against.
I draw the line at having to wear a period costume though ;D
Have a fantastic week whatever you get up to.
Enjoy xoxo
