I had to open my mouth didn't I and say that we'd had no snow...
Well not twenty-four hours after making that statement it arrived.
Well not twenty-four hours after making that statement it arrived.
The wind has been blowing an icy blast (apparently from the Artic) all day and now snow has arrived with it.
Hence this Sunday's photo is of our inglenook with the wood burner blasting out heat.
You just can't beat it on a day like today.
The large tree trunks to the side of the burner are from a friends garden... they chopped down a tree some time last year, so it's perfectly dried out now and ready for burning.
I'm linking up with Darren over at onedad3girls.com once again
Have a great Sunday everyone
I'm off to have play in the snow... what are you up to?
Whatever it is have fun!
Ooh, lovely, That looks so warm and welcoming!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could live here without it... I love to gaze into it whilst toasting myself.
DeleteThere's a danger that I could singe ;D
Love everything about this, and yay for friends who chop down trees which can be used for fire wood
ReplyDeleteI don't like to hear or see trees cut down but this was a must so we've given it a lovely home who appreicate it fully ;D
DeleteOh, this is lovely, perfect on a cold day :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't live without it Sara and that's why we've added another one into another room. I love them ;D
DeleteHave fun with the link and enjoy your Sunday
That looks so inviting, I love the logs in the wall
ReplyDeleteYes well I'm beginning to think my hubby might have a problem because he measured and counted those logs to fit into that space. He nearly flipped once when I used one to light the fire. It was so dry I thought it was a good idea but he thought differently!
DeleteHave a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by to leave a comment.
It's always great to see you ;D
So cozy! We are suppose to get blasted with snow tonight, so this looks inviting :)
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if you're snowed in by now because I'm late coming back to you.
DeleteHopefully you're cosy too ;)
Enjoy your Sunday evening and thanks for stopping by my place
What a handsome inglenook and woodstove, with light from a window shining on it. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terra, I think it's rather handsome too,
DeleteThe light is actually shining from two lightbulbs... I had to put lights on because I took the photograph late in the day.
I'm beautifully warm today thanks even with snow lying on the ground.
Have a great Sunday evening
this looks very cosy. it is a lovely photo. what a beautiful inglenook. keep warm. we are sweltering here; one of the hottest summers for years.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that you are having one of the hottest summers there Sherry especially as the snow lies on the ground here but I'm cozy for sure with the fire blazing.
DeleteI love it but I'll be looking forward to spring ;D
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful evening.
Love this stove. Wood burning stoves are awesome. Great copper kettles too! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThanks John,
DeleteWe have always been a fan of wood burners and that's why we've put in another one in another room! The kettles are handy.
Thanks for visiting my place.... enjoy your evening
Very cool! Looks so warm and cozy! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh it is... extremely at times! Like tonight we've loaded it up with some of the large logs and it's roaring away beautifully.
DeleteHave a great night and thanks for stopping by to leave a comment ;D
I need that, it looks so cosy and warm, you are so lucky. Great photo x
ReplyDeleteI know I'm very lucky Cathy... I'm so grateful for so many things and try to appreciate them all daily.
DeleteThe fire is working very hard and we're enjoying it so much. There's something very special about a real fire.
Thanks for your lovely comment and I hope you are cozy tonight.
That's so pretty, perfect Sunday thing to sit in front of! :)
ReplyDeleteWell you're right about it being the perfect thing because that's just what we've done today. We had snow last night and today, so it was good to be cozy.
DeleteThanks for visiting and I hope you have enjoyed your weekend.
This looks so warm and welcoming
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
I'm so happy to hear that because I like to think there's always a welcome here and the kettle is never far from boiling!

I have had a wonderful Sunday thank you and I hope you did too.
Let's hope that the next week is as good
Gorgeous hearth. Love the logs at the top. Much nicer and cosier than ours.
ReplyDeleteThose logs were measured and cut especially for that particular place.
DeleteMy hubby takes his wood/log management very seriously ;D
It sounds like you have a wood burner perhaps? If so I'm presuming your toasty too.
Have a great evening and thanks for visiting my place.
Can I have one of those now please! I am really really cold here =P #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteOh if only I could Pixiedusk... I'd certainly let you have one. Not mine of course but you really would adore having one I'm sure ;D
DeleteWe've really enjoyed and appreciated it's beautiful heat today which is just as well with snow on the ground outside.
Have a great evening and I hope you're well wrapped up now with a hottie to keep that cold at bay.
Thanks for your visit.

Ooòh that looks so very warm and ever so inviting!xx
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, I don't think I could manage without it now. We love it so much we put another wood burner into another lounge.
DeleteThanks for popping by my place and I hope this coming week is a good one for you.
although snow is never heralded as a good thing, you gotta admit that a cozy fire in such a beautiful fireplace setting makes is all that much better. Keep warm my friend! Hugs and cuddles to the pooch.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind snow as much as grey damp wetness Jenn, especially if I'm indoors watching it with a fire blazing. I'm certainly keeping warm with thermal layers, two fires roaring away and constant piping hot cuppas! Oh yes and cuddling a furry wee beasties on my lap! 🐕
DeleteI hope all's well with you and your Mum... say hi from Muffy and me
Take care and have a great week xoxo
