We've been enveloped in fog for two days and this shot was taken just as it began to lift. It was after 8.30pm as the sun ( well hidden) began to set. We've had thunderstorms and torrential rain too.
It was rather eerie Louise because the fog that has been with us for two days finally decided to lift. I just loved the light as the hidden sun began to set.
Thank you Sara, I was pleased with the outcome as I wasn't sure it would show just how atmospheric the scene was. Two days of fog finally lifting to a strange sunset.
Well that clearing is rather a long way off Sherry. You'd definitely need your hiking boots on. We are surrounded with cow parsley which is positively humming with visiting bees.
Oh we desperately wanted the light to emerge Cathy, because we'd been living in thick fog for two days. It was a very strange sunset and I'm glad I captured it.
It was the other way round Darren... the calm after the storm. We had torrential rain with thunder and lightning plus fog for two days. Horrible when you see the rest of the country bathed in beautiful sunshine. Thanks for hosting and visiting my place. Have a great Sunday.
The weather has been crazy this week up here, a mixture of everything. Your pic really captures it. Summer bloom with thunderstorms and overcast hot weather
It sounds like you've had the same weather as us, although for two days we were engulfed with fog. The air was very heavy when I noticed that the fog was finally lifting to reveal a very strangely lit sunset. I was pleased with the outcome of the photo.
It's always a fantastic view Claire... because there's always something to look at and this strange sunset was no exception. Especially after being stuck n thick fog for two days.
The air was very still Jane, I've not seen the light or a sunset like it. As the fog finally lifted after two days it really was something that shouted to me to capture.
It is a special view I have to admit but I haven't felt the urge to run through it yet... but who knows. Thanks for your lovely comment and visit. Enjoy your week
Great picture, makes me want to go for a walk! Sorry it's taken me so long to comment. I'm just getting back on track after a busy few weeks! Thanks for linking up to #CheckOutThatView
Hey Emma, no need to apologise to me... just look how long it's taken me to reply. I've been away for a few weeks so now I'm playing catch up. It's just lovely to have you visit no matter when. Have a great week and hopefully I'll see you again soon.
I get so excited to see you here and love to read your thoughts and comments. I always try to answer each one personally (I think it's only polite) ...♥...I truly appreciate your precious time here so thank you ...♥...
Gorgeous, that looks like a sky clearing after one of last weeks downpours.

DeleteWhat a beautiful image - I wonder what caused that gap in the middle of the photo?
ReplyDeleteIt's the view from the rear of our house Victoria,
DeleteThe gap was the fog finally lifting after two days... Causing a very strange sunset.
Love this, there is so much atmosphere to it, and I love the way you've framed it. Beautiful x

DeleteSuch a lovely photo. It has such a calming sense to it. Are those white flowers called cow parsley or am I totally wrong? :) #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteFi @ www.fawnsandfables.com
You are totally right Fiona, we have them completely surrounding us and they positively hum with bees.
DeleteBeautiful, is it the calm before or after the storm?
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up

DeleteThanks for hosting and visiting my place. Have a great Sunday.
I love the perspective in this, the flowers are just gorgeous
ReplyDeleteThanks Zena,
DeleteThere are masses of wild flowers all around our garden (and some inside it too) which are helping to keep the bees very happy.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it just Kim, I'm always snapping shots of it because it's always putting on a show. This sunset was no exception.
DeleteVery atmospheric with the fog in the distance.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo :)
That fog in the distance had been up close and very personal for far too long Jayne. Two days to be exact and I was glad to see it finally lift.
DeleteIt is a beautiful shot Neesie - well captured :-)
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Cathy, I just had to grab my camera to capture it.
DeleteIt was so strange and different from the usual sunset.
You are so lucky with these views just like your picture last week too. They are stunning. xx
ReplyDeleteI know I'm very lucky so I try to appreciate them to the full and share them whenever I can.
DeleteBeautiful feast of Nature, it looks so peaceful, a haven for urban people!
ReplyDeleteIt's a haven for anyone Carraol,
DeleteIt's a special place and Nature is always putting on a show for us.
Thank goodness that's cow parsley not frost, you being up north and all that :)
ReplyDeleteWren x
Argh... frost don't remind me Wren, I'm trying to encourage higher temperatures but not being too successful. This could be as good as it gets.
DeleteWhat a lovely ethereal light, turning the green grey.
ReplyDeleteIt was incredible lighting... and I'm thrilled I was able to capture it to share.
DeleteLooks so cool and magical in there! Lovely capture =) #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteIt was very still and a strange light as the fog began to lift.
DeleteThanks and my apologies for taking so long to reply to your comment.
