My Week On A Page #1 (PPF)

I know I left a snippet of what I've been creating in the studio earlier this week, but amazingly I'm now able to show you the whole thing today.
Here's a snippet from my previous post, just in case you didn't manage to see it.
If you'd like to see the post then click here
I took the idea from Tracey Fletcher King (with her permission of course) and it's just perfect for me. I often struggle to find a subject to draw/paint, but this idea of creating a page containing things that have been part of my week is just ideal.
It's just a snippet of my week but quite fun to pick which things to include.
So for this first week I've included Gardening Gloves, Gardening Tool, Summer Slippers, Home Grown Peas, Telephone and Mobile phone, a Baking Spatula and a book with a idea bubble.

The gardening gloves have certainly earned their keep since I returned from being away for a few days, along with my magic wand... well it's almost magic, but unfortunately it needs a little input from me. I'm absolutely thrilled that along with some strawberry's and tomatoes I've managed to grow some beautiful sweet garden peas. They are so gorgeous I'm hardly managing to bring any into the house... popping the pods and enjoying they're gorgeousness before I reach the kitchen.
You don't get fresher than that!
With the weather improving, although not quite where I'd like it to be, I've brought my summer slippers out into the light from the dark recesses of my wardrobe.
Fool-hardy perhaps but it is August after all.
The phone is always a big part of my day whether it's the landline or my mobile phone, so I felt I had to include them. The book is something I'm mulling over and have been for the last year.
Hey, I'm world class when it comes to procrastinating!

And finally the blue spatula... which is from a Donna Hay baking range.
I got it along with an oven glove when I purchased one of her books when I lived in Melbourne.
I wanted to include it because baking has taken off here in a BIG way this week.
The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) is back.
I just heard that the viewing figures have been incredible for this new series, but rightly so.
The programme airs at 8pm on a Wednesday evening and is an hour of pure entertainment for me.
I've even baked a cake this week in it's honour.
I could go on about it, but I fear I might lose some of my audience... especially if you've never seen, heard or even like baking... so I'll shut up!

I'm noticing quite a change in my painting style and it's certainly loosening up, which is thrilling for me and something I've wanted to do for some time.
Thanks Tracey xx

Because it's Friday I'm going to link up with Kristin and Eva and Paint Party Friday

  2. Love your painting of items! Such a fun and bright illustrative style. Super art!

    1. Thanks for your lovely comment. This style is so different than I normally paint so it's exciting to see it develop.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by my place.

  3. Fabulous! You really caught the essence of all those items.

    1. You are too kind Erika. Thank you so much for your comment.
This is a completely new project and style of painting for me, so it's great to get such lovely feedback.
Happy PPF and I hope you have a wonderful weekend

  4. Wonderful piece ~ with all those elements of your life!

    1. Hardly exciting elements Rose but it was exciting trying out this new style and subject. So much fun that I think I might paint another week soon.
      Happy PPF to you

  5. Fabulous! I love this style of page - perfect for an art journal or even in a home made and bound book!
    Sandy xx

    1. I had such a great time creating this page Sandy, which is completely weird for me, because as you probably know I tend to get bogged down with the detail. With this piece I just went for it and surprisingly it really worked. I even had a giggle to myself half-way through and there wasn't a drop of alcohol in sight!
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for popping by.

  6. Lovely job fabulous painting!

    1. Thanks so much. It's always reassuring when you receive positive comments when trying something new.
      Have a great weekend

  7. I'm brand new to Art Journaling and this Paint Party Friday. I love your style in this page and the details are beyond amazing. I work with watercolors and so all of this is new to me. I love what you did. Feel like I could step into your collage.

    1. Well welcome to the party Wanda, it really is a great group with so many talented artists and masses of inspiration out there for you to enjoy.
This particular piece of artwork is a new style for me, I'm normally squeaky tight and get stuck on detail... so it's great to hear positive comments about my loose approach. It really was so much fun. I hope to paint another week soon.
By the way these were all done in watercolour too, plus a little the ink pen of course ;D
I'll look forward to seeing your work as soon as I can nip over to your place.
In the meantime have fun and enjoy the weekend.
      Happy PPF to you

  8. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love what Tracey did this past week and I love what you've created too... its the real meaning of a visual diary! I am so interested in this!! Love your watercolour style!

    1. Hehe.. thanks mandysea,
I've had such a lot of fun creating the pages. They've certainly loosened my work which was what I desperately needed and Tracey's class was so great in helping me achieve that. I would recommend you try a page and if you do I'd love to see it.
Have a great creative week no matter what you get up to.

  9. What a great idea and the painting is absolutely wonderful. Blessings, Janet PPF

    1. Aww bless you JKW, your kind words mean so much to me especially as I'm trying to find a new style... or a looser style at least.
Have a great week and blessings to you too

  10. I missed this last week somehow but what a wonderful collection of items - I can certainly see Tracey's influence in your painting style - it has changed and it looks wonderful! I like the idea of a week on a page - great idea of Tracey's - maybe she could make it a thing and everyone could post their week each week!!

    1. I'm hoping that I'll develop my own new style as time goes on and I paint regularly. I certainly like the looser style and it's been so much fun, which is new to me. I normally get worked up and so tense when facing a blank page.
I was thinking it would be a great linky theme too. It would be fun to peek into everyone's week.

  11. Neesie, first off, please accept my apologies for such a late visit. It's been a crazy week with deadlines and such. Secondly, love LOVE your work. Tracey is my big sis and a long-time inspiration of my own. You've done a fabulous job and this style suits you very very well. I can't wait to see more of your work. :)

    1. Oh please don't apologise for being late as I'm the world's worst for being a tail-end Charlie. For example look how long it's taken me to reply to your comment (in my defence I have been away but even so I'm always late)
REALLY... you love my work? WOW I'm so thrilled Alexandra, it means so much to me to hear that. I'm trying different styles and I'm really liking this looser style. I normally get so hung up on the details.
Tracey is a darling and so generous with her time, encouragement and inspiring art.
(Is Tracey really your big sis or is that metaphorically speaking?)
I'm working on another page and loving creating it. Hopefully I'll be able to share it soon.
Have a great creative week and I can see you're enjoying Christmas thoughts already. I'll think I'll wait a few more weeks before I start singing jingle bells ;D

I get so excited to see you here and love to read your thoughts and comments.
I always try to answer each one personally (I think it's only polite)
...♥...I truly appreciate your precious time here so thank you ...♥...
