They say variety is the spice of life, well in that case I think we can safely say we've certainly had an abundance of spices today.
We've had all the seasons rolled into one and here's the proof!
The sun is shining, but there's a flurry of snow every so often, with a little rain too.
If you look past the car you'll see some of the hundreds of daffodils that I planted last year.
This weather is certainly confusing to us, so I can only imagine what it is doing to the wildlife.
The poor birds are building nest in my nest boxes... I think they'll need lots of insulation at this rate.
Whatever the weather try to turn that frown upside down.
As usual I'm linking up with My Sunday Photo
Thanks for visiting my place today and I hope you're enjoying your weekend too.
Isn't the weather bonkers?! We had hailstones so heavy it looked like snow, too. Poor mother nature!
ReplyDelete#SundayPhoto
Yes, I think Mother Nature must be either confused or very cross with us. No snow today, but it's still rather chilly.
DeleteThe weather has been insane hasn't it. We've had every kind of weather this week. Fingers crossed it improves. x
ReplyDeleteIt surely has to improve soon Susan. We've had all kinds of weather too, but thankfully no snow.
DeleteWow! We had a sustained flurry of sleet here, but nothing that settled. Whatever happened to spring?!?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what happened to spring Tim... but I do wish it would all be sorted out soon. I need spring!
DeleteJust brilliant! As usual we have missed all the snow in Cornwall but it does seem extraordinary in spring
ReplyDeleteI think I need to move to Cornwall!
DeleteWe've had a little sunshine today, but it's still really chilly.
In some areas here in the states, they are experiencing the same thing. My daughter lives in Colorado and they are getting several inches of snow. Beautiful daffodils!
ReplyDeleteWow thank goodness we didn't have several inches of snow. We haven't had any more snow here... but it certainly is chilly.
DeleteI'm loving all of the daffodils opening up and the tulips are just about to join them.
Oh no! Not snow, Its a good thing it melts quickly at this time of year. I hope your spring weather is back really soon. :) Erika
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Erika and thankfully we haven't had any more snow since that last flurry. Snow is beautiful (in winter not spring) as long as it disappears quickly. We did see the sun today, but it's still chilly.
Deletethat's a nasty last hurrah,, I HOPE!!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful blooms!
Thankfully no snow today Laurie... so I'm hoping that that was the last flurry. My tulips are just about to pop now, to join the huge swathe of yellow daffodils.
DeleteHi Neesie, I'd be tickled to wake up to a sprinkling of snow, but not in spring! I can imagine hedgehogs hitting the snooze button for another month and who would blame them?
ReplyDeletexx
I think I'd hit the snooze button too, if I was a hedgehog wouldn't you. Thankfully we haven't had any more snow, since that flurry, but as you say I think snow is for winter and certainly not spring.
DeleteThis photo made me smile, but the weather hasn't been a lot of fun lately! We haven't had a single flake of snow this winter, then we had some yesterday. I couldn't believe it!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly hasn't been fun here Sarah, but thankfully no more snow so far! What a shock to see your first snow flurry in April!
DeleteLet's hope it's the last.
Oh dear, we had a bit of snow but it didn't last long. Very frosty out again this morning. Let's hope it warms up again soon!
ReplyDeleteWe had a very crisp clear night which gave a lovely crispness to the morning. Thankfully we saw some sun too, although it's still chilly.
DeleteCrazy weather, isn't it - we drove through a snow storm yesterday and it's always odd to have snow at this time of year with the daffodils everywhere. Love the frown on the car - hopefully it didn't last too long!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is crazy Louise... and I've had enough. I need spring. All my plant think it's spring and so do the birds, so where is it?
DeleteThankfully the snow didn't last long as the sun melted it away.
Oh my word, the weather down here has been beautiful more Summer like. The weather is a crazy thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Argh! Really Darren that's just not fair. You should share!
DeleteIt certainly is crazy, but hopefully it will settle down soon. It's April for goodness sake!
Thanks for hosting and I wish you a great week ahead.
It's been a weird old Spring this year! Love the humour in this shot! We haven't seen any snow here!
ReplyDeleteHasn't it just... really weird.
DeleteI'm glad you like the shot. I just couldn't resist.
I'm just hoping that that is the last we'll see of the snow. It's time that spring got it's act together.
I was on Exmoor for part of last week and one morning we awoke to showers of sleet, snow and hail but it didn't settle. My FB memories tell me that 4 years ago back in France our blossom was all out but it isn't this year. It is certainly a cold spring that winter isn't keen to let go of just yet.
ReplyDeleteYep... we've had all that weather here too. It's crazy.
DeleteI seriously think that winter needs to visit someone else because I need spring... and soon!
Snow! There was a morning I heard my husband scrape ice off of the car which I couldn't believe #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you were possibly still cozy in your bed, if you only heard your husband scraping the car Jane. (hehe)
DeleteI wouldn't blame you if you were.
The weather we are having at the moment is crazy! Love this photo! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lily... I couldn't agree more... I think it certainly is crazy. It's time spring got it's act together and forceably remove winter!
DeleteOh! Everyone is getting snow except us! Only want a little flurry :-) #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteIf I'd have known I could have sent the snow flurry your way. We thankfully haven't seen any more since. I'm hoping things will warm up soon... it's surely time!
DeleteWe had the same in Shropshire yesterday morning, snow started at 4am, finished by 6 and it was all melted by 10 which lead to a gorgeous day. Even managed to dry some washing on the line... odd weather! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteI've only managed to dry some washing on my line twice this year so far. Thankfully I have an Aga that helps.
DeleteWe too have had lovely weather since that snow flurry, but it's still chilly.
It looks a bit chilly there neesie. Unlike here where it is still damn hot! And we are halfway thru Autumn. Winter please come!
ReplyDeleteIt is Sherry, do you feel my pain?
DeleteCould we come to some agreement and share our weather... that way yours will cool down and mine will warm up! I think that's a great idea.
Great photo! This weather is crazy isn't it....Today we have spring like weather. Last week it rained nearly all week.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is Kim. We've had so much wet weather this winter it's not funny and it's still so cold, but at least we have seen some sun today.
DeleteAahhhh, I remember days like that from when I lived in Denver Colo. My daffodils would bloom oh so pretty and in masses only to be stomped on by a foot of wet heavy snow n ice. Sending you warm sunshine from FL! With hugs from me and the Girls :)
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils bless them have put on quite a show Nan, with the tulips just popping open to join them, but I'm bothered they are going to be short lived. It's such a shame when we've waited all year for them.
DeleteOh thanks for the warm sunshine... I got it, but I could do with a little more heat with it please.
Hugs back to you and the girls.
ha ha ... what a great record of a crazy season. Love it, Nessie. Luckily, the sun is shining here today. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd have a little fun Donna, because I'm rather fed up waiting for spring to warm up.
DeleteEnjoy your sun... I'm not envious in the least! :/
Mother Nature is moody and erratic in the spring--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteShe's certainly got one on her Rita,
DeleteWhatever we've done I hope she forgives us soon.
Precisely!! Great image. I am grateful that we have had no snow in Somerset! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteLucky Somerset although it didn't lie for long... the sun thankfully melted it within the hour.
DeleteHaha what a great photo, we have missed the snow here, but it was bitingly cold this morning despite the sunshine Luckily it warmed up this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteYes, we've had sunshine, but it is still so chilly.
DeleteThankfully there's been no more snow since this photo was taken.
we seem to have summer here in Toronto all of a sudden, go figure!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope that happens here too Christine.
DeleteWe have all the signs of spring... just not the warmer temperatures.
oh my... still snow. brrr. the photo made me laugh though.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the photo gave you a chuckle Klara.
DeleteI'm also happy to report we haven't had any more snow since the photo was taken.
The weather is bonkers at the moment! But perhaps it's always that way here in the UK! We haven't had snow for years in Bath :-(
ReplyDeleteLaura x x x
Bonkers indeed Laura! We thankfully haven't had much so, but I didn't expect to see it so late. Spring needs to get her act together!
DeleteWe had snow as well, and hail, rain and sun. A total mix.
ReplyDeleteSadly, we had dead twin lambs which were born in the snow and really cold weather - my BIL hadn't been able to get to the sheep in time/know it was lambing to move it
Aww that's so sad Emma,
DeleteI'm so aware that it's lambing time this year, and fear for the new arrivals with it being such a cold snap just now.
We had exactly the same weather by the sound of it.
I hope all the remaining lambs here and to come keep cozy and safe.
i can see snow in the mountains again, but thankfully its just been a little chilly at night here. gorgeous shining sun today tho :)
ReplyDeleteOn Sunday morning the mountains had the most snow I've seen all winter, but thankfully it didn't last long. There's been very clear skies here too, with lots of frosticles each morning.
DeleteLet's hope spring warms up a wee bitie very soon.
Hey Neesie seen any good polar bears in them there woods of yours yet?!
ReplyDeleteFantastic picture I love your smiling face and your chirpy approach to all things nature throws at you!
Have a sunny week!
Wren x
I'm certainly keeping an eye out for them Wren!
DeleteThe wind is coming from Siberia today and oh boy you can feel it.
At least the sun's shining, so it's bright.
You've got to keep positive... even when you're freezin' your butt off!
Oh Denise! Sending you warm hugs to melt that snow. I hope you'll have a warm sunny week. xx
ReplyDeleteOoh Melody, it appears that your warm hugs have worked. The snow has disappeared and we have glorious sunshine this morning. It's a little cold still, but I can live with that now that it's bright.
DeleteThank you so much
Hi Neesie, also it is "sad" that there is still snow in April, I had a giggle watching your photo :-). Last night it was freezing here, but the days are "warm" - 10°C
ReplyDeleteHave a sunny and good week.
Moni
Is that 10 degrees or minus 10 Minkamo, because if it's minus 10 my heart bleeds for you. That's seriously cold!
DeleteOur little snow has disappeared now and we have lots of sun. I'd still like it a little warmer, but I'm not complaining.
We're currently 4 degrees this morning.
I have been looking for spring as well as its so cold lately again my child is asking if he can wear his gloves when we go to school in the morning! #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI don't blame him!
DeleteEven when the sun shines here, the wind is still so chilly.
There's also an arctic blast coming in a few days... which I'm obviously thrilled about... NOT!
I don't envy you seeing snow! I've had enough of April showers but snow is just silly!
ReplyDeleteThankfully it disappeared very quickly after I took this photo and hasn't appeared since, although I hear that there's an artic blast coming in the next few days!
