Oh how I would love to say that this photo was taken of me doing a little yoga in the park...
but alas it isn't me... but it's my daughter!
Pretty good isn't she?
I love this photo for so many reasons... yes the light, composition and subject are all good,
but it's the fact that when I first saw it I thought 'Oh she looks like my daughter' not realising initially that it was my daughter.
I know she's been enjoying taking up yoga, but I hadn't a clue that she had become so good.
Now she's encouraging me to have a go... so if I become this good... you never know I might well post a photo of me one day! (ha)

Now that is seriously impressive, the photo and the pose!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just... every time I look at it, it makes me smile :D
DeleteOh wow! She is good! Fantastic photo! The light is just perfect x
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, I think she's fantastic, but then I am a little biased ;D
DeleteWow that is very impressive and I love the way she is silhouetted with the sun's rays streaming out behind her. Gorgeous shot.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it Louise. I think this might be one of my most favourite photos.
DeleteWow she looks like such a professional, look at that balance! Amazing photo too with the way you've captured the light. Yoga always looks so much easier than it is doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI know... pretty impressive eh? I tried to do this particular pose and I toppled over on the first attempt... on the second I wobbled and decided that I should start at the beginning before attempting this one again!
DeleteShe looks super impressive. You should take it up, too. You never know what may come of it!!
ReplyDelete#SundayPhoto
I possibly do know what might come of it Tracey and it isn't attractive in any way... but yes I think I will start soon. I think it's brilliant to keep supple and healthy especially as I am getting on now ;D
DeleteYea, I can do that too...I wish! Nice silhouette.
ReplyDeleteHaha Brooke, you got me there for minute. I was going to be impressed. Maybe I'll start with a downward dog first... or should that be an upward dog. Oh well you get the gist!
DeleteThat's pretty impressive! Lovely photo #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteWell I think so Rachel... but then I'm biased and an ageing, stiff jointed auld gal!
DeleteWow your daughter is obviously very good at it Neesie and you have captured it perfectly. A beautiful photo x
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't know she was this good Cathy, until I saw this. I think it would make a fantastic black and white print.
DeleteWhat a brilliant photo, I'd never be able to get into that position without falling over
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Well we all tried it Darren, and I have to say it's not easy. There were a fair few wobbles and tumbles involved!
DeleteThis is a fantastic photo - I love backlit photography and you have captured it so well. Your daughter is so balanced, it is clear she is enjoying yoga.
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria, I think it's one of my favourite photos. You're right she's really enjoying her yoga along with running. It seems to be a good balance between the two.
DeleteHi Neesie, oh, to be able to balance like that! Your daughters silhouette reminds me a little of Tinkerbell. I have no idea why!
ReplyDeletexx
I've tried it Debbie and it's certainly not easy, although I wasn't as bad as I thought I'd be. Nothing like this though and there were a fair few wobbles along the way!
DeleteTinkerbell would describe her perfectly. I'll have to call her that the next time we speak. She's away on holiday at the moment.
Great photo, there's so much to love in this image. Looks so peaceful #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteThank you... I think it's one of my favourites. I think it would be fabulous as a black and white print.
DeleteBeautiful photo, love the light.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol I think it's lovely too ;D
DeleteBeautiful photo -they say the apple does not fall far from the tree Denise. Be proud Mom - be proud!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Oh I am proud Sandy... I couldn't be more proud of both my daughter and son. Thanks so much.
DeleteBrilliant! She is really doing fantastic. That pose looks pretty tricky to me. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty tricky Rita... let me tell you, because I tried it!
DeleteWhat a laugh trying not to fall over never mind balance.
It's a great photo with the sun silhouetting (is that an actual word?!?) your beautiful daughter. You should try yoga. I did and I like it, it is very calming.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't a word Claudia it should be (hehe) I know exactly what you meant. I do intend to try yoga it's just I've got to juggle everything else in order to fit it in. Autumn sounds like a good time.
DeleteThat is such a fabulous shot! If anyone can encourage you I'm sure your daughter can.
ReplyDeleteOh she has been Katie, I've just got to knuckle down now and find the right class and time to fit it in. I'm thinking once the garden has calmed down... perhaps in early autumn, then it might actually be a good time to start.
DeleteThat is beautiful picture and I look forward to seeing one of you :-) #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteHA! You might have quite a wait! I think I better start off with the basics first. Thanks for your encouragement ;D
DeleteFabulous pose! She is so good, well done to her. :) I've just taken up yoga and also loving it! #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteGood for you... It's good to hear that you are loving yoga too. We'll have to post our photos when we can master this pose (hehe) ;D
Deleteit is a very nice photo, lovely lighting :)
ReplyDeleteYoga and me don't mix lol can't balance on two feet :p
Hehe... well I'm not so sure I'll be any good at it either Jennifer, but I'm thinking of giving it a go! Nothing ventured nothing gained.
DeleteLovely photo; awesome pose - I wish I could still do that! Look forward to your own photo ;) xoxo
ReplyDeleteps - did you get my reply yesterday Denise? I've been trying to sort out the 'no-reply' nonsense xoxo
That means that you used to be able to do it Mo... I'm impressed!
DeleteYou might have a long wait to see my photo so please don't hold your breath! I did get your reply and now we'll see if it works when I try to send you this reply. Fingers crossed
Such a brilliant shot of your talented daughter! Great light 🌸
ReplyDeleteThanks Catie, I think this could be one of my favourite photos.
DeleteGreat photo - why don't you start your yoga journey with a downward dog?! Then the whole family can join in ^..^
ReplyDeleteWren x
A downward dog sounds just about right for me Wren... but I know who would be right there in my face if I attempted it!
DeleteMuffy thinks if you go down to the floor it's game on and she's full on fun! I don't think there'd be much relaxation going on!
great photo and pose, lovely daughter you have.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Christine ;D
DeleteVery cool pic, Nessie! And a very limber daughter. Hugs
ReplyDeleteIsn't she just Nan. She always used to be when she was little, but I didn't realise it was ongoing! I told her to take a black and white print off it because when she was my age she'll look back on it, but her reply was 'I'll still be doing it then' and I for one believe her!
DeleteLooks so perfect! The pose and the light! #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI love the picture... it's one of my favourites :D
DeleteThat is absolutely beautiful, and made so much more special because it is your daughter! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly Cal. I love the photo... Thanks ;D
DeleteBeautiful photo, looks so serene and calming x #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThat's because my daughter is doing the balancing Jaylan... if I was on the photo it would be an entirely different story!
DeleteLovely photo, Neesie! I so enjoy long walks in nature...and just enjoying time outdoors in serene places like this. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Linda in Montreal. How's things over there? We visit Montreal, Saint-Sauveur and Morin Heights and love it!
DeleteAnyway getting back to your comment... I think there's nothing better than getting out and into the thick of nature. No matter what your mood may be nature is sure to make you feel better, or show you something spectacular.
mmmmm, me dreaming... that one day I'll be half as good as your lovely daughter is. great picture. lucky you for having such an encouragement.
ReplyDeleteMe too I think Klara, I know I've got all the encouragement... I just have to act on it now ;D
DeleteWhat a fabulous image
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
Thanks Molly... I love it too. Now I just wish I could do it too!
DeleteHave to say this is one of my favourite photos I have seen so far for this weeks #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteOh that's so kind of you to say... I personally love it, but then I'm biased.
DeleteWhat a beautiful photo - I love this!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/08/cats-consumate-contortionists.html. I truly enjoyed this shot!~
Me too Sue, but then I am slightly biased :D
DeleteThanks for hosting and leaving such a lovely comment.
My GP wants me to do yoga, I just looked at her like she had grown 2 heads. This fantastic shot make me laugh at the idea of my ever doing something like this - perhaps when I was in my 20's but not now.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a fantastic thing to take up... I just need to start. I think we should give ourselves a challenge... are you up for it? We have to post photo of ourselves mastering this pose! We can do it!
DeleteI said to my daughter that she should make a print of this to look back on, but her answer was why would she do that because she'd still be doing it at my age and well beyond! So there you go! ;D
A wonderful photo, as all have stated, and I am most impressed with your daughter's pose
ReplyDeleteShe's very good! I'm still struggling with balance but aiming for this one day :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely photo, and I wish I had her poise!
