Even when the day brings mist and drizzle (mizzle) there is always something to brighten the day.
I couldn't resist capturing the raindrops clinging to the peony petals.
It's such a pity that you can't smell their beautiful fragrance too, heightened by the still damp air.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by my place.
Gorgeous! I love peonies and these are stunning. What a colour!
ReplyDeleteSo do I Sara,
DeleteI think they are just exquisite and having to wait all year for them to appear just adds to the wow factor when they actually do burst into bloom.
Peonies are so pretty, I just love the colour on them and I keep wanting to buy new bunches!
ReplyDeleteI think they are beautiful and along with that gorgeous fragrance they are certainly a winner in my book.
DeleteThese are stunning Neesie, I have meant to buy some peonies but always forget when I am out x
ReplyDeleteI know I'm so lucky to just go into the garden and pick a bunch. I've recently taken a cutting to enable me to have more. I'm thrilled because it appears to have taken.
DeleteWhat beautiful flowers, I love peonies so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Each time I look at them I love them more Darren... and their perfume is sensational too.
DeleteThanks for hosting and I hope you have a brilliant week ahead.
That is a beautiful picture, I love Peonies and was really disappointed when I had some recently that didn't open. I absolutely love to see raindrops on petal too, so pretty. I have posted a similar colour rose today, I loved that because the raindrops too. Great minds think alike ha! Have a lovely Sunday xx
ReplyDeleteI thought exactly the same thing when I saw your rose Lisa.
DeleteI now realise what a popular plant the peony is... add raindrops and it's a winner!
They are beautiful - I love peonies #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThey are kind of special aren't they Rachel. I just wish they would last longer or perhaps flower twice, but then they wouldn't be so special. I think it's the wait for them to appear adds to the wow factor when they do.
DeleteFabulous photo. I love peonies this year it was so wet and humid when mine bloomed that they rotted, so lovely to see yours.
ReplyDelete#MySundayPhoto
I had a few rot last year so with having such a wet year this year I didn't expect much of a show... but they've been stunning!
DeleteI'm happy to share mine Catherine and maybe next time you'll have more success. Fingers crossed.
Peonies are so pretty and you have captured this one perfectly #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteI just happened to glance out of the window and saw them. They insisted that I captured them whilst they were having a shower.
DeleteI loved the raindrops.
Love the raindrops on the peony - what a pretty colour it is :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pink isn't it Louise. I've managed to take a cutting which has rooted so I'm thrilled that I will have another plant for next year if I keep it safe over winter.
DeleteLove peonies, and add the rain, they're beautiful
ReplyDeleteI think the raindrops just put that finishing touch to them. I am so happy that I was able to capture the image.

ReplyDeleteThank you Kim, they are beautiful aren't they?
DeleteThere are certainly up there in my top 10 flowers. I was thrilled that I actually captured them whilst they had the rain drops on them.
Gorgeous flower. And I love their scent. Think I'll use this one as inspiration for stamping today. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI find that so many roses don't have a fragrance, so it can be a little disappointing. Where as the peony certainly is one of the best fragrances. I love everything about the peony, it's shape, abundance of petals, colour and fragrance!
DeleteHave fun stamping and I look forward to seeing what you create.
Roses are definitely the in photo this week, love the pink of this one and those rain drops make it.
ReplyDeleteThe peony is very blousey, but I love it. That beautiful pink and along with the fragrance makes it one of my favourites.

Thanks Sandy, I'd been looking at the flowers all afternoon thinking I would capture them for My Sunday Photo, but when the rain started I just had to get out there. I think it just finishes off the image.
DeleteFlowers look delicate and resilient cover with water drops. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that they haven't rotted with so much rain. Thankfully they seem fine, so I'll keep looking, admiring and picking the odd few to come into the house.
