The theme this week for the APR challenge is Monochromatic and I'm hoping that a photograph will be okay. I'd love to have drawn or painted something to enter, but it's the same old story...the week just ran away with me trying to hang on!
Just have a peek at some very gifted talented real artists!
Well it's almost the weekend...so make the most of it...have fun and keep smiling everyone ;D
That looks like a beautiful place to holiday and it's monochrome to me. Bummer about all the rain and I saw your temperatures (ouch). Hope the sun comes out soon, sending some of our sunbeams in the meantime :)
ReplyDeleteVon.
Ouch indeed Von,
DeleteAt least the rain has stopped just now but there's a really cold breeze coming from somewhere!
There's even talk of hail on the radio...I just have to remind myself its not as bad as a British summer...oops I meant to say winter! ;D
Can you turn the sunbeams up a notch because I can't feel them yet!
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy that sun!
That is a very clever photo. I like it not only for the light and shade but also for the composition. The "tunnel" effect is really nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you like it Mark...I actually walked right underneath it whilst chatting (what's new?) but then stopped and backtracked. My brain must have clocked it without me realising but I knew it was just what I wanted as soon as I took it.
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend ~ could you send the sun back please I'm missing it!
This is an incredible shot; perfectly lined up. I feel chilled at this end in the shadow.
ReplyDeleteThe tunnel looks like it goes on forever and I love the detail showing on the worn legs.
I've just spotted your Live gadget there on the right. Awesome sunset showing just now! Have a good evening :0)
If you feel chilled then perhaps click on the Girlie Getaway link and you'll see the photo all warm and full of sunshine ;D
DeleteThanks for stopping by and for your great compliments.
The live gadget is great but sometimes I've noticed it shows we're colder than we actually are...but not today...Brr!
Temperature is supposed to drop to 4 degree's tonight which is really cold for here.
Have a great weekend ~ enjoy!
I'm loving this photograph and yes it's totally monochromatic. Beautiful is what it is too!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Jenn
Phewph...it's good to hear the photo fits the criteria Jenn,
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment.
Have a wonderful weekend ~ enjoy ;D
Wow I love this pic, reminds me of standing under a pier when little looking down to the sea. Very clever of you to capture it. Zo xx
ReplyDeleteHi Zo,
DeleteI was so busy nattering (as I do) with a friend walking along the beach that I'm amazed I spotted the photo opportunity!
But I'm so glad I did.
On a few of my other photos of the pier there actually is a little girl.
Enjoy you're weekend and hopefully we'll be celebrating a win on Sunday! It'll be silly-o-clock on Monday morning here for us but I know my hubby will probably get up! Which means I'll be awake too ;D
what a beautiful shot, amazing, try to stay warm, its quite warm here, for our area, not warm like your summers, but warm for us, take care,
ReplyDeleteBoth the fire and heating is on here Laurie. Brrr....the temperature is supposed to drop to 4 degree's celcius tonight...which is very chilly for us. I know it doesn't compare to your winter temperatures though.
DeleteBut I'm happy to hear you're having some warmth for your summer. I know the UK is struggling and hardly seen the sun and it's been missing here over the last few days ~ so it's with you! I did wonder where it had gone!
Enjoy ;D
Your photo is absolutely stunning!! I love everything about it! It is so amazing that we can be having 104 degree weather when someone else is cold. I would take something in the middle and be much happier!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Laurie, I'm now thinking about having it made into a print.
DeleteIt's still rather chilly here but thankfully the sun has returned, although not too much heat in it...it's still good to see.
Meanwhile 104 degree's is a little serious...I agree something in the middle would be much better ;D
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by. I love visitors popping in!
OH...WOW... this is an amazing photograph! The shadows, light and angles are so stunning and draws me in!
ReplyDeleteWow back at you for your lovely comment...I'm thrilled that you like it.
DeleteThanks and have a wonderful weekend ~ whatever you get up to ;D
gorgeous! i'm a photographer first, dabbling/learning artist second. i love your offering this week - the perspective is wonderful and fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Alice,
DeleteI've only just returned to photography since I started blogging.
That's one of the reasons why I love to blog. Seeing so many wonderful things and capturing them to share. I now look at everything so differently and always seem to be looking through a len, even when I've not got my camera! Does that make sense?
Thanks for your kind comment...I really appreciate it.
Have a wonderful weekend ~ enjoy!
Outstanding image ..totally gorgeous and brilliant!! Love the perspective..love the smooth stones..the gradual dark hallway towards the light...beautiful and visual-metaphor/potent symbology too!!
ReplyDeleteShine on...love it!
Victoria
I guess you like it then Victoria ;D
DeleteWhat wonderful compliments! It's alway great to get people's opinion of your work but brilliant when the feedback is so positive.
Thank you so much for making my day!
What a gorgeous shot! Looks like you had a lovely getaway.
ReplyDeleteIt was fantastic Beth...I just drove out of Melbourne down to Point Leo on the Mornington Peninsula to join girlie friends.
DeleteIt always does you good.
Thanks for stopping by :D
I love the photo Neesie/- it's got a lot of character. I love black and white images---
ReplyDeleteVicki
Me too Vicki,
DeleteI have the colour version but I think it's better as a black and white image given the subject matter ie shadows, light and lines.
Thanks for popping over to my place ~ it's always good to see you :D
Real artists indeed... I have told you and told you that you are too... if you weren't then you wouldn't be on the wall of wonderful... sorry I am late seeing this piece of gorgeous work... balance in black and white can be a real challenge but you have nailed it... thinking all your lovely tangles mean you are comfortable with monochrome...
ReplyDeletehope it has warmed up there because it is still scarily Melbourne like up here!!!!
Messy Buckets Trace... (translated means 'merci beaucoup'!)
DeleteI still have difficulty believing it, but if I'm on the wall of wonderful, then I suppose it must be true?
You've made me a very happy bunny for sure :D
I do love black and white but then I've got the intense pencils sitting looking at me and if I could just face the fear and open the tin, then I'd love to have a go at colour. They look amazing.
It's been quite some time since my silk painting days when my world was a vivid mass of colour...but I'm thinking it's time.
The weather's still wintery here but I still can't compare it to a British winter (or perhaps even a summer) so I think it's great. I still embrace each month with all it's changes after living in locations where each month remains the same.
Stay cosy and thanks for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment.
Have a fantastic week ~ enjoy!
