Happy WOYWW everyone,
I thought I'd try and keep today's post really brief because there is a chance that I could write 'War and Peace' describing what a wonderful, incredible bunch you all are. You have been so supportive, encouraging and inspiring, so I want to take this opportunity to thank you all so much.
My first 'giveaway' ends today, so I'll be writing a seperate post about that later when the grand draw takes place. I have to tell you I'm so excited and can't wait to notify whomever wins!
If you entered then once again thank you....I just wish I could send everyone the prize but unfortunately we need to eat and pay the bills so I can't!
So on to my desk...well once again I moved towards the sun and here I am having some quality time drawing in the dining room. The studio is a little too fresh at the moment, I'll have to wait until spring to migrate back. Thankfully my son knows me well and used soft focus otherwise you'd be looking at paper bits, drawing pads and pens again and not me!
Note that I have to wear glasses doing these designs...they do play with your eyes but they are oh so good for your mental state. In fact Ritu says its 'Yoga for the Mind' and I thoroughly agree. My mind wanders off whilst I'm drawing and I find them so relaxing....
...anyway....
I've also started an inspirational wall in my studio, but unfortunately the light wasn't bright enough when I snapped this shot....sorry.....you may recognise a few items there....
It's a large white wall so there's lots of space for lots more inspiration....
If you're new here or confused as to what on earth WOYWW are all about, then nip over to Julia
at her place and all will become clear....you'll have a great time and see some amazing things...but beware it can be addictive!
Hi Neesie thanks so very much for popping over and hey let us play whether Mr Linky does or not hope the rafflecopter and your celebrity enjoy the draw this arvo and do love your pickies of your garden down below, happy WOYWW Shaz in oz.x
ReplyDelete# no number yet :D
Hi Shaz,
DeleteIt appears a few of us rebels are at play whilst Mr Linky is away!
I'm really excited and looking forward to the draw...we've had the rehearsal to iron all the kinks out so we should be good to go.
Rafflecopter's not playing the game ~ it must be off with Mr Linky ;D
Have fun and enjoy your desk hopping. Thanks for popping over to my place I love to have visitors! :D
Oh, I love that there is a little bit of you in the picture, if only a tiny bit! I think that's a great way to show your creative space, with you in it, as you are the most important part of the creativity! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandee,
DeleteI wasn't sure about showing myself but I suppose with it being out of focus I can get away with it. Dressed in your old fleece with your hair tied back is okay for being creative but not when you are going to receive so many visitors. I'd normally make an effort ;D
Thanks for stopping by...it's always great to have you visit.
Enjoy WOYWW ~ have fun :D
Thanks for stopping by already today. I really enjoy zentangles, but simply don't make them. Guess I'm one of about four people in the art community who doesn't like to make them. In fact HATE is probably the right word (grin). I have no grip in my hands, so even holding a pencil or pen becomes a challenge. And then when I actually TRIED to do it, I gripped so hard my fingers cramped for two or three days.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your giveaway. Looks like you got a lot of new followers as a result, too. No number for me, either, yet.
Hehe...so you really don't like doing them? ;D
DeleteI can understand that if you don't have any grip because they can be a little intense but then I find I start to relax and they just flow.
Art and crafting shouldn't be stressful so maybe you're just as well to keep doing what you love best!
Thanks for your good luck wishes...I'm just waiting for the 'Diva' to get her act together and we can get the prize giving underway.
Have fun ~ enjoy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by ;D
Hi Ros,
ReplyDeleteI just use blue tac on the wall...we are only in transit so don't want to put holes in the wall for a noticeboard but it still seems to work well.
When I finally settle...wherever...I'll make sure a notice board is on my list too.
Thanks for popping by...I love to have you visit ;D
Have fun desk hopping and we'll have to see what Mr Linky gets up to once we decides to grace us with his presence.
Happy WOYWW Neesie! I love that you started an inspiration wall. I'm in the process of setting up a new studio and definitely plan to have an inspiration wall too! I love the pic of you drawing! ~Robin
ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
DeleteI'm not so sure I like the photo but I didn't want to show my work again after having them all out there last week...but I do have some surprises soon :D
It's a pity my wall is now not where I'm working but I hope to be back there as soon as winter's over. I'll just keep adding to it in the meantime.
Thanks for visiting ~ Happy WOYWW to you too!
Have fun ;D
Wow Neesie, love the wall, so nice to have enough space to have one! Glad to see that you need glasses for your close work, makes me feel better about having to wear mine all the time! Like that soft focus. No Mr Linky yet but visiting anyway. Happy WOYWW, Anne x
ReplyDeleteHe's playing with us Anne, but we've decided to play on our own. I hope Julia doesn't put us on detention! :$
DeleteI'm not happy about the glasses, but I suppose it had to catch up with me one day. Both my brother and sister have needed glasses for some years, so I can't brag anymore much to their amusement.
Hey...I NEED soft focus and my son knows it! :D
Have fun being a rebel desk hopper! Enjoy and thanks for popping over. xoxo
Oh it is Addictive Neesie, (WOYWW). You look like you're on a roll with the Zentangling.I feel a real need to be drawing again.
ReplyDeleteJudy
I adore my drawing time but unfortunately I can't get to it as much as I'd like.
DeleteI'm going to add colour soon so that's exciting ~ psst don't tell anyone will you, but I've bought some Inktense pencils recommended by Shoshi so will have to play soon ;D
Thanks for popping over to my place ~ enjoy the desk hopping even without Mr Linky!
...great to get a 'here's me working shot' on another masterpiece...loVe your inspiration wall the beach sure does look inviting...thanks for sharing & have a fabby week...Mel :)
ReplyDeleteWell yes and no Mel...I suppose. I'm never happy in front of the camera.
DeleteThe beach was from our weekend in Rye...here's the link if you want to see it in colour (http://neesienatters.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/steven-seas-of-rye.html)
It was a pity that my colour cartridge was empty but it still hits the spot even in black and white. It's a fantastic beach.
Thanks for popping by...Have a great desk hop ~ enjoy ;D
Love your inspiration wall.. great pic of you creating another of your fabulous makes..Have a fun week, Hugs May x x x
ReplyDeleteThanks May...I'm excited about my latest work but its been quite a week and I've neglected it. Hopefully I'll finish it before the weekend. I've still got so many designs I want to do...oh yes...and I have colours too ;D
DeleteHappy WOYWW ~ enjoy your desk hopping and thanks for stopping by my place. It's always good to see you :D
I like your soft focus shot and the idea of the inspiration wall is a good one. and yes us WOYWWers party on, mr linky or not!
ReplyDeleteHehe I need all the help I can get Bella ;D
DeleteMr Linky's decided to make an appearance so I think he realises we'll party without him.
Have fun desk hopping and thanks for popping over to my place. Enjoy!
and now it's my turn to snoop while you snooze! (or maybe not) Yes, I have to doodle in glasses, it's such a pain! Soft focus is a great idea, I really hate it if hubby comes in while I'm doodling in my glasses, saying, 'that'll make a good picture!' when said glasses are screwiff, pillow hair, and tongue hanging thoughtfully to one side! Happy Woyww! Have a great week
ReplyDelete((Lyn))#30 (I was)
Nope I'm not asleep yet although a wee snooze sounds a great idea.
DeleteIt's just coming up for 5pm so still a few hours off bedtime.
What a picture you conjured up there Lyn, such a giggle.
Creating take a lot of effort sometimes...it's not easy balancing glasses, hair and tongue that way...years of dedication go into these skills ;D
You're hubby is very privileged to witness this amazing feat!
Happy WOYWW to you too ~ enjoy and thanks for stopping by :D
Hi Nessie you look very busy at work on your desk today, love your inspiration on the walls. Have a great Wednesday, hugs Erika.
ReplyDeleteI wish this photo was taken today but alas I haven't managed to draw today...my son took the photo yesterday.
DeleteToday I've been busy getting the 'giveaway' ready to go live.
Thanks for popping by Erika ~ I appreciate it.
Happy WOYWW ~ enjoy! ;D
So great to see a little bit of how you work and your inspiration wall will be crammed before you know it. I do like the 'mind set' poster. Enjoy the rest of your evening. I've just finished breakfast here in NE Scotland :0)
ReplyDeleteYour breakfasting whilst I'm about to have our evening meal ;D
DeleteI love that 'mind set' poster too.
Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving a lovely comment.
Have a great day ~ enjoy WOYWW!
Great art on your wall, and the soft focus shot too!! Happy WOYWW, helen #3
ReplyDeleteSoft focus is the only way for me now Helen, ;D
DeleteThanks for visiting...I love people popping in.
Have fun with desk hopping ~ enjoy WOYWW!
Ah Neesie, bless you - showing yourself is the hardest thing, huh! And believe me, you'll just be busy congratulating yourself that you've managed to be incognito and someone else will post a picture of your meeting on their blog!! Nice to see you at work...I imagined there's be more to producing such fab artwork than sitting in front of a pad with a pen...maybe it's the candle.........
ReplyDeleteYou've found me out now Julia...why didn't I think of that before I posted that photo. All I need is a pad and a pen! Oh and my eyes working properly...and good light....and my sketched design...and a cuppa....and....and....
DeleteThanks so much for popping over to my place...I know what a effort it is to visit everyone ~ I keep trying! :D
Have fun and Happy WOYWW to you!
Hay Nessie, I think you'd call that a "Smash" wall like the smash journals, don't you think? Thought I needed glasses for the photo of you at first - LOL - Thanks for stopping by BJ#8
ReplyDeleteHmm...I haven't heard about smash journals or walls BJ.
DeleteDon't forget I've been living in a cave for the last 12 years so I've a lot to catch up on. ;D
You made me giggle with your glasses comment. I know just what you mean :D
Have fun with WOYWW ~ enjoy!
Great looking wall! I hate to admit it but I have to wear glasses now to do any kind of up close work. Hate getting old eyes! Have a great week. Vickie #42
ReplyDeleteOh so do I Vickie....and to think I'm only 19! ;D
DeleteI've put up a fight till now but I'm afraid I can't do that any longer. It's all very sad!
Have a great desk hop with WOYWW and thanks for popping over to my place. Enjoy!
So lovely to see you in action and your wall looks amazing, am highly honoured to see you've put my little piece on there. Take care & have a good time snooping the WOYWW desks of the world ! Zo xx 55
ReplyDeleteHehe I wondered if you'd notice it Zo...it looks great doesn't it?
DeleteThanks for stopping by and you have a great time desk hopping too. ;D
Nice to see you at work Denise!!! I can well imagine that working in black and white would really play with your eyes! I am so in awe of what you do! Love your inspiration wall! I have one too! xxoo
ReplyDeleteHello Marie, Lovely to see you to (sort of)
DeleteMy eyes have needed glasses for up close and personal for the last year or so, so I can't really blame the zentangles.
I'm not happy about it but then what can you do Confused smile
Have a great week ~ enjoy ;D
Your drawings are so lovely, Nessie! Need to pay the bills, indeed! I hear you. ;) So great to see into your world. xo
ReplyDeleteHi Allison,
DeleteI'm so happy that you like to see into my world. It's my pleasure to take part in a show and tell ;D
Thanks for popping over to my place and leaving a lovely comment.
I really appreciate it ~ have a great day!
Hi Neesie. Your inspiration wall is a wonderful idea. You are so right about the zentangling your troubles just melt away. WOYWW Hugs from Helen 14
ReplyDeleteHi Helen,
DeleteI just wish I'd have had a chance to do some 'tangles today. It's been a busy one and unfortunately there's been no time today.
Have a wonderful WOYWW ~ have fun and thanks for coming by my place. :D
I've been away from WOYWW for a few weeks and had forgotten the delight in discovering a new WOYWWer. You have some gorgeous things on your blog and the art work is stunning. Love your photos too.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Hugs Lisax #74
Oh Lisa that's so kind of you to say...you're making me blush :D
DeleteI adore blogging and can't imagine not posting regularly.
There's always something that catches my eye and I like to share with everyone.
I happy that you came to visit and enjoyed your stay...I hope you'll come back again soon ;D
Happy WOYWW ~ enjoy!
I love your inspiration wall idea, amazing work too.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Zoe #12
Thank you so much Zoe...I plan to fill the whole wall with inspiration!
DeleteI appreciate you popping over to my place ~ Happy WOYWW too.
Have fun :D
ooooh you zentangle as well, oh my yours are absolutely exquisite. A few of us aussies are trying to get together a WOYWW meet and greet. I'm in the middle of you all in Canberra
ReplyDeleteBridget #13
Hi Bridget
DeleteThank you so much for your lovely comment. I think it helps that I love drawing them.
Wow a Aussie WOYWW meet and greet ... sounds great fun ;D
Happy WOYWW ~ enjoy!
Wish I had the space for an inspiration wall as it is a great idea but I don't think it would add the right look to my dining room. Will be back to see who wins the cards - fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteAnn B
#21
Hehe ~ well I'm working in my dining room but my inspiration wall is in the studio at the other end of the house, which isn't ideal.
DeleteIt's too chilly in the studio at the moment so I'll just pop in and out when necessary ;D
I'll be posting the prize draw result in a wee while.
Have fun desk hopping ~ enjoy!
Love the inspiration wall.
ReplyDeleteLaura 78
Thanks Laura,
DeleteHave a great day and thanks for stopping by ;D
Love your inspiration wall - gotta get me one of those too! The soft focus is something I REALLY NEED, otherwise people may run away screaming when they see me or my desk. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
LOL...thank goodness for soft focus I say!
DeleteI'm loving putting the wall together...there's always something to catch my attention so it's a good job that the wall is quite large.
Have fun desk hopping Teria...enjoy and Happy WOYWW to you too ;D
An inspirational wall, what a delightful idea...#99
ReplyDeleteHi Darla,
DeleteMy wall seems to be causing quite a stir ;D
Thanks for your visit and enjoy your desk hopping!
I'll have to start snooping tomorrow now as it's getting late here ZZzZzzZZ....
I'm photoless blogging recluse too! Loving the wall and fab zentangles... Thanks for calling by...Sarah at 2
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
DeleteI wasn't sure about putting the photo out there but with it so fuzzy I thought I might as well.
Thanks for stopping by ~ have fun with WOYWW! Enjoy ;D
How wonderful to build up an inspirational wall, and the good thing is you can change it up as often as you like. Nice to "see" you too!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Brenda 107
Thanks Brenda,
DeleteThe wall seems to be a hit...It's amazing how quickly you can gather stuff together.
Glad you stopped by and left a lovely comment.
Have fun with WOYWW :D
Hello!
ReplyDeleteYour WOYW is today! I love the beautiful photos of this past week! Your work is wonderful as always! Wishing you a happy day!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
I'm so happy to hear that Barbara because without you there it would all seem pointless although I'd still probably carry on....I'm definitely hooked!
DeleteThanks for you kind words...they're really appreciated :D
Loving your Inspiratiion Wall.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Carol
Thanks Carol...it's proving very popular with the gang ;D
DeleteThanks for popping over to my place.
I hope to desk hop later today...I'm off out to a gallery this morning which should be fun.
Happy WOYWW to you too :D
Hello Nessie. I am not sure I have had the pleasure of visiting you before. Mine is tea, black and no sugar!! (You do say the kettle is on!)
ReplyDeleteYour zentangles are fabulous. I have to wear glasses when I am doing close work nowadays. I have been told it is my age! Maybe you have the same problem! But I think we are both a bit too young to worry about that yet!!
xx
No problem Samantha,
DeleteKettles always on! Sit down and make yourself comfortable...it's so nice to have you visit :D
Age ~ blah what do they know? Load of rubbish...I'm only 19 anyway!
So happy to hear you like the 'tangles and thanks for popping in.
I hope to see you again soon ;D
Hi Neesie!
ReplyDeleteHaving come across your blog last week in WOYWW, I'm back again! I hadn't discovered the world of Zentangles before, but thanks to those links you posted on your giveaway I sat and watched loads of videos. Very very inspiring! It makes me want to have a go, but I'm not really confident of where to start. Anything you can suggest?
Thanks for sharing!
Scrappydiva (#125)
Hehe...great to see you again Scrappydiva, it's lovely that you popped back :D
DeleteNow then let me fess up...I've never watched any video's or tutorials about how to do any artwork! I know shocking and maybe I'm missing out there but I started drawing 'tangles' before I knew what I was doing...some kind WOYWW told me what they were. Having said that I don't think mine are truly zentangles because I think there's even names for the patterns that are used.
It all sounds terribly involved and it's much simpler to just say I doodle!
My advice would be to not get too caught up in it all...just draw a shape (whatever takes your fancy) and then start to put some lines and patterns inside...relax and just let your hand and mind wander. Really its that simple.
Just remember to have fun doing them...that's the most important thing. Enjoy the process.
Please let me know how you get on...I'd love to see what you do.
No hassle I'm just interested. If I can do it so can you ;D
Until you pop by again...(hopefully) enjoy your desk hopping.
Toddleloo for now!
Ah - there is sunshine in your room, I can see it shining on the chair back! We had some of that here today but it's still cold and I'm back to wearing my socks in bed :(. I like your inspiration wall and your gorgeous drawings.
ReplyDeleteHelen S #23
Hi Helen, yep if the suns about you can be sure I'm somewhere near.
DeleteThankfully the drawings are easy to do in any room because my studio is far too cold at the moment...my fingers would cease up and I haven't got any on those fingerless gloves.
I don't think you can beat cosy toes! :D
Thanks for stopping by...I love to receive visitors.
Happy WOYWW ~ have lots of fun desk hopping!
i enjoyed my peek at your desk and wall today. nice to have a wall for all the inspiration. i love that sheet filled with inspiring words! elevate the ordinary! love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that each time I read it I'm inspired in a different way. I've tried to find the blog I got it from, but I've had difficulty...I'm thinking its from http://www.superherojournal.com I've spent quite a time searching for it again but still can't find it ~ sorry.
DeleteThanks for popping over to my place ~ I appreciate your visit ;D
That is a desk full of wonderful and scrolling back I caught up on your other posts... you have taken some gorgeous photos and you do have a way with words... great post today and even though Yoga for the brain is a bit of a stretch I think... I adore you all the same...xx
ReplyDeleteDo you mean a way with words like 'unique' or 'gobbledeegook' or just 'write as I speak'?
DeleteSince I started blogging I've been trying so hard to improve my writing along with my photography, subject matter, blah, blah, blah,
You know how it is...I'm just so amazed that people read what I have to say, thrilled that people take the time to visit and even better to stop and comment!
I love so many different aspects to blogging and can't imagine life without it now.
Additionally just think about all the lovely new friends that you come into contact throughout the world...it's brilliant :D
But I'm preaching to the converted here aren't I ~ hehe ;D
I guess 'tangles' aren't for you then Trace...but then if I could paint like you, I'd just paint! Life would be perfect!!!
Psst...I adore you too xoxo
I think I would need glasses to do that intricate a detail too! Love your inspiration wall, it's lovely to be able to glance up and see things you love.
ReplyDeleteThe inspirational wall seems to be a hit with a lot of people. It was such a blank white space that needed something so it evolved by itself really. ;D
DeleteI could blame the 'tangles' for needing glasses but unfortunately I've had to succumb over the last year to wearing them for reading etc. I put up a fight for quite some time but I've had to give in.
Thanks for popping by...have fun!
I love the inspiration wall too, fabulous idea x
ReplyDeleteSophie #68
Thanks Sophie,
DeleteI'm enjoying slowly filling up the space.
Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great time desk hopping :D
Hi Neesie, it sounds as if you've got a serious addiction problem, from the lovely comment you left on my blog lol lol!! The breathlessness, the secrecy... I know what it's like, the pounding heart, in case your hubby turns up (as he always seems to do) just as the store clerk takes your card and shouts in a voice for the whole shop to hear exactly how much you have spent! Lol lol!!! Anyway, I am So Glad you got your Inktense pencils, and I know you will have fun using them. You just colour with them like you would with ordinary crayons (takes me back to my childhood), building up the shading, and then go over it with a water brush to blend it all! It's super easy and the colours are so lovely and bright. Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteLove your idea of an inspirational wall. I have a cork board on my ARTHaven wall which is supposed to be for lovely things I've received from people but at the moment there's nothing on it but pins because it's so difficult to reach!! Most of my wall space is taken up with shelves, filing cabinets and stuff piled high. When we eventually move I am determined to factor in some wall space to put lovely things on.
Sorry to be so late commenting. I've been having problems with Blogger and couldn't see any of my comments yesterday.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #15
I know Shoshi...but it's worse than you describe because I pretending to go to the pet shop (knowing full well where I really intended to go) only to nip across the road when no-one was looking to make my purchases. Wearing my hoodie and shades, checking both left and right at the doorway before leaving with my stash tucked under my arm behind the dog food bag. I could tell you about the lengths I had to go to get them into the house undetected but then I'd have to kill you ;D
DeleteAnyway moving on swiftly...I haven't had any time to even open the tin yet...but tomorrow could be the day! Yeeha! They sound brilliant and I can't wait!
I am using blue tac on my wall as we are only here temporarily but like you I'm putting a wish list together for our next house.
Don't worry about being late visiting I'm just so happy to have you call.
Have a wonderful weekend ~ enjoy those Inktense :D
You are very artistic and have great ability! Your pieces on the wall are beautiful. Love the soft focus picture of you drawing! Valerie #26
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie,
DeleteYour very kind to leave such a lovely comment. I really appreciate it.
Have a fantastic Friday ~ enjoy! ;D
Love the soft effect of your photo, a great way to present your desk this week. Love your inspirational wall too. Zentangling looks like fun and I am becoming more intrigued each week. Might give it a go one day, but then I think I will be hooked. LOL It would be good to do at work in my down time. LOL don't need many supplies. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great crafting week

Please use this link when replying or the stamping Ground blog link.
Hi Eliza,
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
I adore doing my drawings (not sure they are truly zentangles but near enough) but they should come with a warning...once you start you don't want to stop. Well I don't!
You should give them a go though...they're fun.
Have a wonderful week and a busy crafting week ;D
Sorry to be so late visiting Neesie but the decorating has meant that getting into my craft room has been difficult. Decorating is done now so as soon as everything is put back in its place things will be back to normal…whatever that is!
ReplyDeleteIt’s good to actually see you working. I’m sure they not only pay with your eyes but also take one hell of a time to create each masterpiece.
Thanks for stopping by this week.
Happy Crafting!
Sue
x
No problem Sue, I've ran out of time this week too...I really intended to visit as many desks as I could, but once again Wednesday is fast approaching!
DeleteI'm surprised to hear so many visitors have liked being able to see me working, but I really didn't have anything new on my desk. Well that's not strickly true because I am working on a few new designs, but I didn't want to show them just yet ;D
You'll be pleased that your decorating is finished...I hate the distruption, but you can't make an omelette without cracking eggs as they say...its great when everything can be put back in its place.
Thanks for popping over to my place and leaving a comment. I appreciate it because I know how busy you have been ;D
Have a great week :D
