What's on Your Wordesk ~ WOYWW 158

Happy WOYWW everyone,
I thought I'd try and keep today's post really brief because there is a chance that I could write 'War and Peace' describing what a wonderful, incredible bunch you all are. You have been so supportive, encouraging and inspiring, so I want to take this opportunity to thank you all so much.
My first 'giveaway' ends today, so I'll be writing a seperate post about that later when the grand draw takes place.  I have to tell you I'm so excited and can't wait to notify whomever wins!
If you entered then once again thank you....I just wish I could send everyone the prize but unfortunately we need to eat and pay the bills so I can't!
So on to my desk...well once again I moved towards the sun and here I am having some quality time drawing in the dining room. The studio is a little too fresh at the moment, I'll have to wait until spring to migrate back. Thankfully my son knows me well and used soft focus otherwise you'd be looking at paper bits, drawing pads and pens again and not me!

Note that I have to wear glasses doing these designs...they do play with your eyes but they are oh so good for your mental state. In fact Ritu says its 'Yoga for the Mind' and I thoroughly agree. My mind wanders off whilst I'm drawing and I find them so relaxing....
...anyway....
I've also started an inspirational wall in my studio, but unfortunately the light wasn't bright enough when I snapped this shot....sorry.....you may recognise a few items there....

It's a large white wall so there's lots of space for lots more inspiration....

If you're new here or confused as to what on earth WOYWW are all about, then nip over to Julia
at her place and all will become clear....you'll have a great time and see some amazing things...but beware it can be addictive!

    1. Hi Shaz,
It appears a few of us rebels are at play whilst Mr Linky is away!
I'm really excited and looking forward to the draw...we've had the rehearsal to iron all the kinks out so we should be good to go.
Rafflecopter's not playing the game ~ it must be off with Mr Linky ;D
Have fun and enjoy your desk hopping. Thanks for popping over to my place I love to have visitors! :D

  2. Oh, I love that there is a little bit of you in the picture, if only a tiny bit! I think that's a great way to show your creative space, with you in it, as you are the most important part of the creativity! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

    1. Hi Sandee,
I wasn't sure about showing myself but I suppose with it being out of focus I can get away with it. Dressed in your old fleece with your hair tied back is okay for being creative but not when you are going to receive so many visitors. I'd normally make an effort ;D
Thanks for stopping by...it's always great to have you visit.
Enjoy WOYWW ~ have fun :D

  3. Thanks for stopping by already today. I really enjoy zentangles, but simply don't make them. Guess I'm one of about four people in the art community who doesn't like to make them. In fact HATE is probably the right word (grin). I have no grip in my hands, so even holding a pencil or pen becomes a challenge. And then when I actually TRIED to do it, I gripped so hard my fingers cramped for two or three days.

Good luck with your giveaway. Looks like you got a lot of new followers as a result, too. No number for me, either, yet.

    1. Hehe...so you really don't like doing them? ;D
I can understand that if you don't have any grip because they can be a little intense but then I find I start to relax and they just flow.
Art and crafting shouldn't be stressful so maybe you're just as well to keep doing what you love best!
Thanks for your good luck wishes...I'm just waiting for the 'Diva' to get her act together and we can get the prize giving underway.
Have fun ~ enjoy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by ;D

  4. Hi Ros,
I just use blue tac on the wall...we are only in transit so don't want to put holes in the wall for a noticeboard but it still seems to work well.
When I finally settle...wherever...I'll make sure a notice board is on my list too.
Thanks for popping by...I love to have you visit ;D
Have fun desk hopping and we'll have to see what Mr Linky gets up to once we decides to grace us with his presence.

  11. and now it's my turn to snoop while you snooze! (or maybe not) Yes, I have to doodle in glasses, it's such a pain! Soft focus is a great idea, I really hate it if hubby comes in while I'm doodling in my glasses, saying, 'that'll make a good picture!' when said glasses are screwiff, pillow hair, and tongue hanging thoughtfully to one side! Happy Woyww! Have a great week

  34. Hi Neesie!

Having come across your blog last week in WOYWW, I'm back again! I hadn't discovered the world of Zentangles before, but thanks to those links you posted on your giveaway I sat and watched loads of videos. Very very inspiring! It makes me want to have a go, but I'm not really confident of where to start. Anything you can suggest?

    1. Hehe...great to see you again Scrappydiva, it's lovely that you popped back :D
Now then let me fess up...I've never watched any video's or tutorials about how to do any artwork! I know shocking and maybe I'm missing out there but I started drawing 'tangles' before I knew what I was doing...some kind WOYWW told me what they were. Having said that I don't think mine are truly zentangles because I think there's even names for the patterns that are used.
It all sounds terribly involved and it's much simpler to just say I doodle!
My advice would be to not get too caught up in it all...just draw a shape (whatever takes your fancy) and then start to put some lines and patterns inside...relax and just let your hand and mind wander. Really its that simple.
Just remember to have fun doing them...that's the most important thing. Enjoy the process.
Please let me know how you get on...I'd love to see what you do.
No hassle I'm just interested. If I can do it so can you ;D
Until you pop by again...(hopefully) enjoy your desk hopping.

  40. Hi Neesie, it sounds as if you've got a serious addiction problem, from the lovely comment you left on my blog lol lol!! The breathlessness, the secrecy... I know what it's like, the pounding heart, in case your hubby turns up (as he always seems to do) just as the store clerk takes your card and shouts in a voice for the whole shop to hear exactly how much you have spent! Lol lol!!! Anyway, I am So Glad you got your Inktense pencils, and I know you will have fun using them. You just colour with them like you would with ordinary crayons (takes me back to my childhood), building up the shading, and then go over it with a water brush to blend it all! It's super easy and the colours are so lovely and bright. Have fun!!

Love your idea of an inspirational wall. I have a cork board on my ARTHaven wall which is supposed to be for lovely things I've received from people but at the moment there's nothing on it but pins because it's so difficult to reach!! Most of my wall space is taken up with shelves, filing cabinets and stuff piled high. When we eventually move I am determined to factor in some wall space to put lovely things on.

I could tell you about the lengths I had to go to get them into the house undetected but then I'd have to kill you ;D
Anyway moving on swiftly...I haven't had any time to even open the tin yet...but tomorrow could be the day! Yeeha! They sound brilliant and I can't wait!

  42. Love the soft effect of your photo, a great way to present your desk this week. Love your inspirational wall too. Zentangling looks like fun and I am becoming more intrigued each week. Might give it a go one day, but then I think I will be hooked. LOL It would be good to do at work in my down time. LOL don't need many supplies. LOL

    Have a great crafting week

    1. Hi Eliza,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
I adore doing my drawings (not sure they are truly zentangles but near enough) but they should come with a warning...once you start you don't want to stop. Well I don't!
You should give them a go though...they're fun.
Have a wonderful week and a busy crafting week ;D

  43. Sorry to be so late visiting Neesie but the decorating has meant that getting into my craft room has been difficult. Decorating is done now so as soon as everything is put back in its place things will be back to normal…whatever that is!

It’s good to actually see you working. I’m sure they not only pay with your eyes but also take one hell of a time to create each masterpiece.

Thanks for stopping by this week.

    Happy Crafting!

    1. No problem Sue, I've ran out of time this week too...I really intended to visit as many desks as I could, but once again Wednesday is fast approaching!
I'm surprised to hear so many visitors have liked being able to see me working, but I really didn't have anything new on my desk. Well that's not strickly true because I am working on a few new designs, but I didn't want to show them just yet ;D
You'll be pleased that your decorating is finished...I hate the distruption, but you can't make an omelette without cracking eggs as they say...its great when everything can be put back in its place.
Thanks for popping over to my place and leaving a comment. I appreciate it because I know how busy you have been ;D
      Have a great week :D
