I'm not going to say the usual...I can't believe its Wednesday again...but really I can't!
It suddenly gallops up and bites you! So because I posted a mammoth photographic post of an artist's retreat called Monsalvat yesterday, I'll keep today's post short and sweet...which is what the lovely Julia requests.
I have to apologise before I go any further if I didn't get to your desk last week...it's not that I didn't want to or couldn't be bothered ~ I really just couldn't fit it all in. I wish I could visit you all and not only on a Wednesday...I know there's some amazing blogs out there....so if you have a tactic on how to manage this task....please tell me your secret. ;D
Oops...I better show my desk before I ramble on...well yet again it’s the dining table. It’s still chilly here so no studio for me for a while.
It's a good job that my art doesn't require masses of equipment because I have to pack them away each time I need the table...but then it's cosy and the sun shines in here, so I'll put up with that for now...
After last week's comments my son's been playing and took this shot of me working but through the glass reflection from the dining room door. I think we need to tweak this technique, but you can see a little of my view...but unfortunately the sun wasn't shining when he took it.
If you're new here or confused as to what on earth WOYWW are all about, then nip over to Julia
at her place and all will become clear....you'll have a great time and see some amazing things...but beware it can be addictive!
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone....keep smiling :D
Your tortoise is absolutely fabulous. He is the cutest thing. A huge congratulations on your sale in the new Etsy shop, yes, I've been spying on you:) That is excellent as is your art!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever son you have, taking that picture. I have trouble just taking a normal one.
Don't blame you for coming into the dining room, I've been going in the family room, chasing the sun. Hurry up summer I say!
Have a great week.
Von #28
Hmm...well I'm not sure whether to mention he's not a tortoise but a turtle...oh well it's out there now. I'm really pleased with him.
DeleteHehe...spying...snooping, nosying, sticky beaking, desk hopping, what are we like?
Thanks Von for supporting me with the Etsy shop...it's very nerve wrecking being out there with my stuff. Like in the beginning with blogging, there's just so much I need to learn. Not that I'm an expert blogger either. Sometimes my little brain hurts :$
I'm like a sunflower turning towards the sun...I just love it!
We're nearly half way through winter already so not too bad so far.
Have a wonderful Wednesday ~ Have fun ;D
Silly me, I meant turtle, but tortoise came out!!!
DeleteLOL...I forgive you Von :D
DeleteHi Ros,
ReplyDeleteYou're right it is a turtle. I've had such fun drawing him. ;D
I suppose I was lucky to get any photo from my son as he's not normally available during daylight hours! (hehe sounds like he's a vampire!) Typical that the sun had been out before and after the photo but he couldn't possibly come back and take another...so much to do...so much to see!
Happy WOYWW to you ~ have fun!
I like the paned glass door in the photo behind the table. Looks inviting to me. Love your drawings. Valerie #36
ReplyDeleteIt leads out into the al fresco and pool area. Lovely when the sun's visiting.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a comment Valerie :D
Fabulous drawings it is always inspiring to see what you create. I am sure it must be lovely to sit at your table with the sun shining in. Hope you weren't affected by the earthquake rumbles in Victoria.
ReplyDeleteSandra @32
Hi Sandra, thank you for such a lovely comment.
DeleteI do feel very priviledged to be able to sit here creating. I have to pinch myself sometimes! ;D
I feel quite put out really because I didn't feel the quake although both my hubby and son felt it...they were both sitting on the sofa and turned to each other with a funny look on their faces and said "did you feel that"?
I wasn't sitting relaxing at the time (nothing new there) so that's my excuse.
A friend who lives quite near to me commented that her windows actually rattled. Scary!
Have fun ~ enjoy WOYWW and thanks for popping by :D
Awesome drawings. I am always in awe of the intricate patterns you create and how they come out looking fantastic! It was sunny and 94F here today and I gladly would have shared with you! Earthquakes can be scarey things especially around here. Nice picture that your son took. Has a vintage feel to it. Vickie #23
ReplyDeleteThanks Vickie, you say the nicest things ;D
DeleteI could do with a little of your sunshine right now...its really blowing a hoolie here this afternoon, but my heatings on keeping me all toasty!
The vintage look could be because I'm in my old fleece with my old face and body! Lol
I heard about your luck with the giveaway. Congrats again...
Have fun and enjoy your desk hopping!
Thanks Nessie I just saw that I had won the dies!
DeleteOops...I hope I didn't spoil the surprise! Eek :$
DeleteStill staggered at the beauty of your drawings! Have a creative week, Helen, 33
ReplyDeleteOh Helen you've made me blush! ;D
DeleteThanks for popping by and leaving a lovely comment.
Have fun with WOYWW ~ enjoy!
Super duper art work going on there! Love your candle sticks too, great pic of you working but I think we need to see a pic that's not filtered, go on be brave, show us the real you! lol Take care & enjoy snooping. Zo xx 74
ReplyDeleteI forget when I post my photo just what can be seen. I never thought about my candlesticks, or placemats etc. hehe!
DeleteOh I'm not so sure that you need to see a real me...it can be scary depending on the hour of the day!
Have fun with WOYWW ~ enjoy and thanks for popping over :D
Love the turtle, beautiful work. Don't know how you get any work done with that garden view.
ReplyDeleteAnn B
#67
I have to turn a blind eye Ann, because there's quite a lot of garden out there and it calls regularly.
DeleteI could be out there daily and not get to sort everything.
Enjoy WOYWW ~ have fun!
You blog, tweet, Pinterest AND create those amazing drawings? I could almost hate you! I love the mysterious photo, very cool. Any chance you could email a copy to me? I have a piece of art in mind... (And i won't be offended if you'd rather not!)
ReplyDeleteHave a great WOYWW,
rachel #19
LOL...you gave me such a giggle with your comment.
DeleteHmm...I must admit I'm intrigued by your request for a copy of the photo. I'll send it through as long as you let me know what you do and see the outcome. ;D
Have fun with WOYWW ~ enjoy!
Hi Neesie, loving the turtle zentangling, it is so intricate and beautiful. I love visiting your desk to see what beautiful creations you are showing next and you never disappoint. I quite like your Son's pic, looks very ethereal, tell him to keep up the good work! Crafty hugs, Anne x #43 PS - great post yesterday, loved looking at all the photos.
ReplyDeleteAww Anne you're so kind. You never disappoint with your comments either!
DeleteI think my son is very talented with his photography but he doesn't seem to believe me :$
I'll pass on your praise and see if that will help keep him motivated.
Monsalvat would be a great WOYWW meeting place. I can imagine all the gang having a huge picnic there on a long tressle table...maybe I should mention it to Julia. :D
your art is amazing! just beautiful! are your placemats from the Philippines?
ReplyDeletehappy WOYWW!
blessings and hugs from #15
peggy aplSEEDS
Thanks for stopping by Peggy,
DeleteHmm...let me think about the placemats...I think I got six from Bali quite some time ago and they are the one's that you can see...but then last year I bought another six from a shop here in Melbourne. The new one's are quite light in colour.
Have a great WOYWW ~ enjoy!
Absolutely stunning turtle, I'm truly awed by your talent.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Zoe #57
Oh Zoe that's so kind...thank you ;D
DeleteYou've made my day
Happy WOYWW to you too!
Superb drawings. I quite like the rather sepia look of that photo thanks for the opportunity of having a peep at your workspace - trying to make a few visits early this week! Hazel, WOYWW #87 x
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping to my place Hazel.
DeleteI hope to have my biggest desk hop this week...I've tried every week so far and sadly not managed all.
Have fun with WOYWW ~ enjoy! :D
Oh Neesie that t Turtle is awesome!! Thanks for popping by to see me, Cindy #8
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy...I've really enjoyed drawing him.
DeleteI think he may be my favourite so far ;D
Have fun with WOYWW ~ enjoy!
Just stunning work. I am intrigued by the little orange car on the postcard on your desk? It doesn't seem to be the same style as your drawings but it's so darn cute (and I am SO not a cat person and I still like it) I had to ask.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy WOYWW!!
Mary Anne (4)
Thanks Mary Anne,
DeleteAs well as visiting Monsalvat on Tuesday my friend and I also popped into 'The Light Factory Gallery' located quite near to Monsalvat. There were a few exhibits by artists that I really admired so I took the cards so that I could research further.
The Cat is by a very well known artist called Leigh Hobbs
see his work here http://www.leighhobbs.com.au/
and also another by Anna Walker http://annawalker.com.au/
I really love her work.
The exhibition is open from 13th June until 8 July.
Thanks for popping in and commenting...I always love to have visitors. ;D
Have a happy WOYWW too ~ enjoy!
Look at that amazing turtle you are drawing. Looks like you have a wonderful spot there for your art. Sandy :)
ReplyDeleteI know Sandy...how lucky am I?
DeleteI've loved drawing the turtle and he's almost done now.
I'm so pleased with how he's turned out ;D
Thanks for your visit and have a great week.
fabulous desk. Loving the art work - is that a fabulous zetangle I see?
ReplyDelete#101
I seem to be stuck on 'tangling' at the moment. Not that that is a problem for me but I do plan to get to try some colours soon and other possibilities ~ when I have more time to play!!!
DeleteThanks for popping by Miriam,
Have fun with WOYWW ;D
OMGoodness! Your art work on your table this week is amazing! So glad I have a little piece to keep forever! (Never going to use it!) My elephant looks a bit, a lot, rubbishy, but it can only get better! Did you print it on to matt photo card because that really finishes it off very professionally! Happy zentangling! HaPpY WoYwW
ReplyDelete((Lyn)) #20
Oh how kind Lyn,
DeleteI'm so thrilled that you like your card so much. It's been pure pleasure for me producing them.
I think you're elephant is not rubbishy as you describe...I think he's really good and so cute. I love his shape and the 'tangles'
You do realise that they are totally addictive.
I can't look at anything now without seeing it 'tangled'!!!
Enjoy your desk hopping and thanks for stopping by with such a wonderful comment yet again. I really appreciate it ;D
I agree with Spyder. Your work is amazing! I love your zentangles. Dani22
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle,
DeleteIts great to have such wonderful comments. It's always a little scary when you put your work out there! :$
Have fun with WOYWW. Enjoy!
Loving the turtle!
ReplyDeleteLaura 94
Thanks Laura,
DeleteI think he may be my favourite so far but don't let the others hear that! ;D
Happy WOYWW!
Awesome turtle!
ReplyDeleteSophie no.93
Thanks Sophie,
DeleteEnjoy WOYWW ;D
Amazing drawings and lovely candlesticks too. x Jo #84
ReplyDeleteI never thought about the candlesticks being on the table when I took the photo...they always sit there, but I have to explain there's no way I do my art by candlelight!!! lol
DeleteI need as much light as I can get doing these 'tangle' designs. ;D
Thanks for stopping by ~ enjoy WOYWW.
It’s virtually impossible to get around to everyone each week Nessie so I wouldn’t worry about it. I work on visiting about 10% and then a few extras if I get time……it works for me.
ReplyDeleteI’m loving your ‘posh’ table this week, complete with candlesticks………...very classy and Your turtle is just amazing. How many hours of work have going into that?
Happy Crafting!

Classy? I think I like that Sue ;D
DeleteI'm very naughty really because I don't notice the time when I'm drawing (which can get me into trouble sometimes) so I haven't a clue how long the turtle's taken me. I don't mind really I just loved drawing him.
I always try to visit everyone who visits me and also have a quick run through at the start of Wednesday and see how many I reach off and on during the week. Some weeks are better than others obviously...but I don't think I'd every get to everyone.
Happy crafting to you to ~ have fun!
Again ... when i clicked on to you I gave out a 'wow'. As I look at what you are creating, I just wish I had your talent ...my doodles look rather like a childs lol xx#9
ReplyDeleteYou're so kind Angie,
DeleteIt doesn't matter what the outcome of a doodle looks like, it's just how much pleasure you get from drawing them.
Keep doodling and let the child in you have fun!
Thanks for popping by ~ Happy WOYWW!
Hi Neesie,
ReplyDeleteLove the turtle and I can see the kangaroo in the background. You are lucky that your art doesn't require a lot of supplies! It seems that the things I like to do best has LOTS of supplies to go along with them.
I'm not linking up this week (yes, time did get away from me) but wanted to pop in to see what you've been up to.
Hugs,
Kay
Hi Kay,
DeleteYep the kangeroo is there with his friends...the magpie, koala, and turtle. I've also got a few more designs in mind to keep in with the Aussie theme.
I am lucky that I don't need much space or equipment to do the 'tangling' but I do have plans for other things which will take up more, whenever I manage to squeeze more time out of my day! HA!
I'm amazed when I see some of the WOYWW desks by how many supplies they have.
I feel honoured that you came to visit me, even though you haven't linked up. I really appreciate it.
Have a great week...whatever you get up to ;D
Such beautiful work and I saw from Vonny's comment that you had a success at your Etsy shop, congratulations on that! I love the "misted" picture your son took, I love seeing pictures of us at our desks, even if yours is currently you dining room table! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandee,
DeleteYep...a little success but it's a start. It's been quite a challenge setting up and a steep learning curve, but like back in the early days when I started blogging, you learn something new everyday!
I like to see people at work too ;D
Have fun in those wonderful hills of North Carolina.
Love the turtle... you have been so busy with all these fabulous creations... Have a happy week, Hugs May x x x#62
ReplyDeleteI know I've been busy May and I apologise that I haven't visited you, but I will...hopefully later today!
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by.
Have a great crafting week ~ enjoy! :D
Ooohhh...your dining table/workdesk looks like there's a lot of fun going on there!! I love the drawings you're doing!!! And the pic your son took is really cool!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my Father's Day card! I was really happy with how it turned out. Oh, and a Gypsy is a hand held device that works with a Cricut die cutting machine. It's more portable than the machine, and you can design things that you can't with the machine alone. The remotes and Pepsi can on the Father's Day card were done with the Cricut and the Gypsy.
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Amy,
DeleteThanks for all your praise...I really appreciate it.
I'm just having such a great time with drawing and feel very lucky at the moment.
Whenever I visit crafters desks on the WOYWW desk hop, I'm always amazed and have to admit a little lost by all the equipment, names and terminology that's out there.
Thanks for keeping me informed. ;D
Enjoy your desk hopping!
you are so busy!!! I LOVE the turtle!
ReplyDeleteI know Kimmie and that's why I've been struggling to visit others...but I plan to rectify that today.
DeleteIt's a dark, wet day here so far...so perfect to call in on friends and fellow bloggers!
See you soon ;D
Tanks for letting us look at your lovely drawings...Is it Zendoodle? It looks so detailed and precise.
ReplyDeleteI've been told they are zentangles (or doodling or whatever)...I have no idea...I just draw them.
DeleteI'd never even heard of 'tangles before someone from WOYWW told me that's what they looked like.
Thanks for popping by and commenting. I appreciate it ;D
I love the intricacy of your drawings and your clean work area. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe secret is I keep moving my work area... ;D
DeleteThat way it stays clean! lol
Thanks for visiting...Have fun!
Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog today :-) Getting very excited to see more of your creative work! xx
ReplyDeleteIt was the least I could do... I didn't expect you to return to my space...so thank you :D
DeleteI hope you enjoy your visit. xox
Hi there Neesie ah some lovely things here at your place as usual,

Please respond only to the queenartoypia blog.
I keep telling my son he should do more with photography but he doesn't listen. What do I know??!?!?
DeleteI'll have to pop back to your place to spot that badge. ;D
So happy you managed to link in the end...this t'internetty thingy is great when it works, but when it decides not to play then...Grr!
Happy crafting week to you too Eliza and thanks for stopping by :D
Love your art work as usual. They do call it zentangle and mine never look like yours. You are a very talented lady. #14
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Joynana,
DeleteI'm sure your zentangles are great...I'll have to take a peak ;D
Thanks for popping by my place. I appreciate it.
Have fun ~ Happy WOYWW!
So sorry I'm late!! Beautiful work on a beautiful dining room table1
ReplyDeletexxDaniella#167
Thanks Daniella,
DeleteI'm so late trying to get to everyone's desks too. I think have to try again today. It's dark and wet here today so maybe perfect for nipping around the world to see where the sun's hiding!
Have a fantastic Friday ~ Happy WOYWW ;D
Thanks for visiting my desk, Sorry i'm a bit late.
ReplyDeleteI've said it b4 and i'll say it again, your artwork is amazing.
Hugz Minxy #11
Hi Minky...don't apologise for being late...better late than never as they say!
DeleteI'm just happy that you popped by...Thanks ;D
Have a fantastic Friday and crafty weekend ~ enjoy!
I love your table, mine is hidden under all that stuff. Did you feel the earthquake this week?
ReplyDeleteBridget #13
Well I have to confess I didn't but my two boys did...it was quite funny to watch their faces with rapid eye movements checking if the other was aware of what was happening.
DeleteIt was quite a shake, but I was busy so didn't notice it. Typical!
Thanks for stopping by...have fun desk hopping.
I hope to do some more today. Happy WOYWW!
...loVing your workspace Nessie, it looks romantic to craft by candle light...your art looks amazing as always, you have very skilled hands...than you for dropping by me, have a wonderful day...Mel :)
ReplyDeleteSome of the things on my desk have been put to good use now :)
I dread to think how bad my eyes would be Mel, if I did my art by candle light :$
DeleteThey are bad enough with good sunlight some days...
Thanks for popping by my place. I appreciate it.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I'm just about to start mine...glass of wine, candles lit (not the ones in the photo) and feet up...ahhh bring it on!
Love these tangles.Just getting round to the desks thios week. My knee is aching, so can only do a few visits at a time!
ReplyDeleteJudy #78
Oh hello Judy...lovely to see you,
DeleteI had been wondering how you were getting on. I feel honoured that I'm one of the few visits that you've managed! :D
I hope the ache will subside soon...that can't be fun.
Have a cosy, comfortable Sunday and thanks again for visiting!
Your Tangles are amazing!!!! So very intricate! This is a technique that completely befuddles me! What a talent!
ReplyDeleteYou really should give them a go because they aren't so involved...just draw a shape and fill it with patterns. It can be very relaxing and if you don't stress about the outcome then you'll have fun I'm sure ;D
DeleteThanks for popping over to my place and leaving such a lovely comment. I really appreciate it.
Have a great week once you've enjoyed your Sunday.
Hey-- is that my sea turtle on your desk-- wow!!! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteVicki
LOL...it is indeed Vicki, (he says 'Hi' ;D)
DeleteI'll be posting him on Wednesday so you can see him up close and personal then.
He's very happy here with us, so thank you for letting us adopt him.
I'm very pleased with how he worked out and hopefully did him justice. He's such a fantastic turtle...I'm glad you like it.
LOL - that's a funny shot, but looks very vintage! Thanks for stopping by my desk this week....
ReplyDeleteHi Morti,
DeleteWhen there's not a lot to show on your workdesk .... anything can happen. LOL
Have a creative, productive and fun week!
Thanks for popping by my place ;D
I love your intricate drawings. It is nice sometimes to be creative out in the middle of all the family goings-on (or at least that's what I'm telling myself while missing my little "cave.") Happiest of WOYWWs (on Monday) from Laura #126 (Thanks for already popping over to visit.)
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment...I appreciate it.
I do like being in the thick of things but having to clear the decks everytime we need the table is getting to be a little tiresome. I would like to be in the studio but there's no heating in there and with all of the vents, it's rather chilly and I don't think my fingers would work!
I'll wait for spring to arrive before I head back there. :D
Have a great week...hey...it's nearly WOYWW again! wow that comes around quickly.
