What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday...WOYWW #185

I can't believe that I've finally managed to check in with Julia's WOYWW gang.
Well it is Wednesday after all...or is it?
I'm a little confused with crossing the over the date line for the first time.
Trying to remember the different time zones with having friends in Australia, and family and friends in the UK  is a little challenging to say the least!!!
Throw in a little jet lag and I'm beginning to think I can relate to how Santa might feel on Boxing Day.
I mean the last journey took 28 hours none stop from an Aussie summer day (30C) to a crisp white winter wonderland with pristine snow in Canada (-7C).
I don't think we could get any different comparison...all within 24 hours even if you tried.
It's a little surreal.

So here I am in our Christmas home ready to enjoy the holiday.
This is the driveway...yep it's a steep slope. Thankfully we have a four wheel vehicle to tackle it!
Can you see on the left hand side of the drive the depth of the snow and that's only after two days!
I haven't set up a work desk here obviously because I think it's time to relax and have a special time with the family creating treasured memories...but I do plan to do a few sketches or pen and ink drawings.
My daughter is due to arrive at the weekend and she is bringing a few of her art supplies with her
(unfortunately I couldn't manage to bring any due to my flight weight restrictions)
So here's a photo of me having a cuppa...taking in the view.....

(I did have a play with my photos adding the frames etc so I suppose that's a crafty activity)

We are supposed to keep the WOYWW posts brief in order for everyone to be able to visit lots of like minded creative people, so with that in mind I'd just like to end this post today with my sincere warmest wishes for a wonderful, happy, peaceful holiday for all the WOYWW gang, not forgetting Jenn's APR group and all my followers and visitors to my blog. I have enjoyed blogging so much throughout this last year, receiving amazing inspiration and encouragement plus making some great new friends.
I look forward to next year because I know it's going to be so exciting.
As a thank you I'm going to have a 'GIVE-AWAY' early into the new year so watch this space.

Meanwhile...the slopes are calling so I'll catch up with you later ~ I'll be back with lots more photos, elf antics and generally anything that captures my interest...so have fun everyone!

  1. Oh wow, it looks amazing! Yep I can imagine how the time differences must affect you! Don't think I could cope with the flights what alone the time zones! You have a fabulous Christmas, and enjoy all that snow! No desk from me today as I've got DT projects on there and I can't share them yet! So Merry Christmas and take care. Zo xx

    1. Hi Zo,
I'm actually surprised that I haven't suffered too much from jet lag but the boys have, but there again they're male!!! ;D
We split up the journey and that's why we initially stopped in Sydney for a few days. We then flew across in one go, just having transits stops in LA and Chicago. All the connections went well and on schedule thankfully on time. When we landed in Montreal it was midnight which was too late to drive after flying for 14 hours, so we stayed in the airport hotel overnight until morning. As you can imagine it was wonderful to lie down finally in a comfy bed! Then we drove onto the house.

Unreal snow here which makes everything look picture perfect. It's all very surreal from being in Australia just days ago.
As a guide to give you some idea of how much snow there is here at the moment...it's over my knees!

Merry Christmas to you and yours Zo...have a great time. xoxo

  2. What a contrast for you - but it looks beautiful!! Have a fabulous Christmas, and I can't wait to see some more photos. Helen, 3

    1. If you imagine a traditional snowy Christmas card then you have some idea what it looks like here.
Saint-Sauveur (a quaint cute nearby town) looks so picturesque with all the beautiful buildings decorated with lights and all the trimmings. I'll be sure to post some of those photos in the next few days.

Have a wonderful time too Helen ;D

Enjoy all that the holiday brings.
      Merry Christmas xoxo

  3. Oh my your photos are just lovely! Happy Wednesday and Happy Christmas, too. :o)
    Sue x (MiniOwner@45)

    1. Thanks Sue,
I'm having a fantastic time and loving sharing it with you ;D

Happy Wednesday and Merry Christmas to you and yours too. :o)

  4. Its lovely to think you are so close, you are in a beautiful spot and I hope you have the best of best holidays,

    1. I know...I'm thrilled to be so near you too. I'm keeping the kettle on just in case you pop in for a cuppa ;D

I still haven't seen any wildlife but my feeders are out and ready for them when they feel brave enough to show their faces.

I wish all the best for a lovely, happy, peaceful Christmas. xoxo

  5. I'm just popping by to say....
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with everything that makes you happy.

  6. Hi Neesie, I so envy you being in my home Country and having so much snow! Hope you have a wonderful time in Canada, a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year! Hugs, Anne x #20

    1. I thought you'd like to see your homeland. Yep an incredible amount of snow so early and in one day! It's surprised all of the locals too.
But even with this amount of snow we've been really impressed with how everyone deals with it. The driveways, carparks and roads are all cleared so everything doesn't come to a stop!

I don't think there's any problem with us having a wonderful time Anne, its just perfect thanks.

      Have a wonderful time too.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. xoxo

  7. What a fantastic view ... looks like a picture postcard. Andas you say a complete contrast to Aussie.
I hope you and your have a fantastic Christmas

    1. Nope I don't think we could have made it any more different if we'd have tried.
It's certainly one extreme to another. We're so lucky to be able to have experienced the two. :D

Have a fabulous Christmas with everything you and your family could wish for. xoxo

  8. wow....awesome! I am so jealous..::pouting:: lol waving hi from the the no snow hills of North Carolina :)

    1. When we head into the hot tub Sandee, I'll give you a shout.
We may need a little hot toddy first...just to keep the cold out! ;D

Waving from the snowy lakeside :D

  9. Oh, that just looks glorious! Nothing better than a white Christmas! Don't forget to try that sauna--LOL! ;)

    1. Hi Rita,
It was a perfect white Christmas which I'm so thankful for. I know we've been very lucky.

By the way I've been in the hot tub but not the sauna yet!
      But I will. ;D

  10. Hope you have a great time - I look forward to seeing some amazing photos!
It looks like the UK will be having a WET Christmas this time, with more severe flooding predicted.

    1. Hello again Mark,
I've been seeing and hearing all about the WET weather plus flooding across the UK. I'll be sure to try and post lots of sunny photos if I can.
