I've picked a very special week to revisit WOYWW (What's On Your Work Desk, Wednesday) because this week it's their 4th Anniversary!
I haven't visited the gang for so long that I'm actually surprised I remember what to do!
Since my last WOYWW I've visited the South Island of New Zealand, my son has celebrated his 21st Birthday, my studio has disappeared, my laptop has died and I'm about to leave Melbourne FOREVER!
It's quite a list isn't it....but thankfully my art has kept me sane....or as near to sane as I can be.
So here's a look at my desk....
Well I use the term desk loosely because yep, I'm back to creating on a dining table, although in this case this table isn't ours. This table is a rental and along with a few other pieces we've gone with the minimalist look.
We've packed all of our own worldly goods and they are sailing across the globe as I type. Hopefully they'll arrive at the same time that we do. Well that's the plan.
There's one thing that strikes me with our new minimalist home and that is if it's not here then it doesn't need dusting or cleaning leaving much more time for art! Yay!
Unfortunately due to all of this craziness, I'm not able to participate in the WOYWW anniversary ATC swap, even though last year I decided that I'd definitely be involved. But there again I thought I'd still be settle and not about to take part in our own BIG swap...on house move number 12!!!
So maybe you should check out what's going on over at Julia's Stamping Ground and see more desks. It's a lot of fun and everyone is so friendly and supportive.
Congratulations Julia on your 4th Anniversary and to everyone in the WOYWW gang.
Have fun everyone
Well, hello you!! You have been busy having a life since we saw you last, lol!! Happy 4th WOYWW, Helen, 39
ReplyDeleteIndeed Helen, I must admit it's been full on and will be until about September! ;D
DeleteThanks for popping by and I wish you a Happy 4th WOYWW too :D
Wow that tree is amazing lovely. SO glad you are still creating beautiful art work despite the upheaval and packing process. Take care Zo xx 79
ReplyDeleteThanks Zo...I must admit nothing seems too much as long as I can spend a little time designing, drawing and creating :D
DeleteIsn't it incredible that WOYWW is 4 years old. Am I right in thinking that you have been involved since the start?
I'll be nipping over to you in a few minutes so pop that kettle on...don't worry I'll bring Baxter a treat! ^..^
Happy 4th WOYWW Anniversary...enjoy! xoxo
Glad to see you are back to crafting so beautifully. Happy 4th WOYWW x Jo
ReplyDeleteHi there Jo,
DeleteIt's been pretty crazy here recently but thankfully I've managed to allocated a little time to be creative. It's kept me sane ;D
Happy 4th WOYWW to you too.
Have fun! :D
Your tree looks really great I love the colours you have used
ReplyDeleteAre you moving very far away from where you are?
Hope everything goes well
Jackie 5
Hi Jackie,
DeleteI wasn't sure whether to use colour at first but then isn't that what autumn is...a beautiful colourful display. I'm glad I went back to finish it with the autumn palette. ;D
Our move is taking us 12,000 miles so it is quite a way from where we are at the moment. We're heading back to the UK and although it is going to be sad leaving here I'm quite excited by the fact that 24 years of travelling is coming to an end. We can finally settle! :D
Enjoy the 4th WOYWW Anniversary!
HaPpY WOYWW 4 Neesie!! I spy a gorgeous tree!! Love love love! I do hope it's going to become a print or cards for sale? hmm? hmm? Lol :D
ReplyDeleteHave you told us where you're relocating too, and my addled brain has filed it under "Ha! You'll never remember!" ? Or is it not for general publicationisation?
Oops, just realised what time it is. Sorry if you're in bed, I'll try & close the door quietly on my way out. If you're still up - Put the kettle on, I'm gagging!! :0)) xx
Hmm...I hadn't thought about making it into a card...maybe I could do that later once I get set up with all my own studio equipment. But if anyone was to want any printing then of course I could sort something out!!! Are you interested LOL ;D
DeleteI haven't said where we are going to yet so don't worry it's not your addled brain. I may divulge a little later once the move is underway! Keep you in suspenders until then eh?
I nipped to the bathroom last night at 1.30am because something had disturbed me and saw your message...so you mustn't have closed the door quietly enough. But I forgive you don't worry...I just love to have you visit!
Sorry about the kettle not being on...you should have helped yourself! Maybe next time eh?
HaPpY WOYWW 4 to you too Mo :D
Love the Colour Neesie....btw....did you use the wipes this time...lol...
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Cynthia♥
I do too Cynthia and I'm really glad that I went and revisited it to add them.
DeleteNo I didn't use the wipes this time because I'm using my hubby's laptop and not a public one...although having said that I do clean his keyboard regularly from time to time! ;D
Have a great week and Blessing to you too xoxo
I like the tree drawing/painting you're working on!
ReplyDeleteThank you :D
DeleteAll of the autumn colours are prevalent here at the moment so it seems right to add them to the tree.
Have a great week whatever you have planned and thanks for popping by ;D
Are you on a new lap top? Less dusting and more art is a good thing!! Happy moving! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
ReplyDeleteNah...not yet Sandee,
DeleteI'm keeping that delight until I arrive back home. I want to do some research on all the equipment that I'll need because everything needs replacing at the moment. Camera's, printers, computers etc so I want to make sure I make the right decision and at the moment with all the move and leaving taking priority my brain is mush at times.
Okay some might say its always like that but there you go! ;D
Waving back to you from DownUnder (but not for long) xoxo
Beautiful piece of artwork there, I love the colours you've used. Good luck with the moving, hope it all turns up at the right time, Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #150 xx
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz,
DeleteThanks for your compliment and good luck wishes. With all the latest technology stuff that is available nowadays, we can actually track and see our container out there in the big wide world. It's amazing!
It's looking good for arriving just before us so hopefully there won't be any delays and we'll be unpacking before we know it! Hopefully for the last time ;D
Have a great 4th WOYWW Anniversary...have fun!
oh my goodness you have been sooooooo busy and so much has happened I am glad that you were able to join in today.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your zentangle tree it is lovely to see it being done with colour
Wishing you and everyone a Very Happy WOYWW today
Ria #49
Thanks Ria,
DeleteIt has been a crazy few months and probably will carry on for a few more but it will all be worth it (she says crossing her fingers) ;D
I'm glad you like the tree...I did have fun drawing and painting it. I love trees don't you?
Have a very Happy WOYWW too. Enjoy and thanks again for popping by my place :D
Your tree looks beautiful with colour :)
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

Much appreciated Laura. It's always great to get feedback especially when its good ;D
DeleteEnjoy WOYWW and I'll nip across to your desk soon :D
What a tidy desk, mine doesn't look quite like that! Valerie
ReplyDeleteHmm...is it? Well I suppose it is when I look at the photo.
DeleteI do like to have things in their place, so I suppose I like to work in a neat space. It helps having to work on the dining room table because I have to clear away regularly and don't forget most of my arty stuff has been packed and gone, so there's not a lot to make a mess with! ;D
Have a great week whatever you have planned. :D
I hope you are making the most of the light while you can... thinking it will be a bit greyish where you are headed... but all that snuggley Aga time with muffy pup will make up for it... and I love the tree... you have coloured it beautifully...xx
ReplyDeleteOh don't remind me Tracey,
DeleteDon't tell anyone but I'm trying to come up with a cunning plan on how to steal some from here! You have enough and I'm sure wouldn't miss a little. Wish me luck ;D
As to the Aga time, well yes that will be nice plus we have the largest capacity of wood burner that you can buy! So hopefully we'll be roasty toasty as long as we don't go outside! I think Muffy's daily walk might be a mad dash! LOL
Thanks for your compliment on my tree I really appreciate it.
Have a great week and I'll see you soon xoxo
That is one amazing tree! I just love trees in all formats, trying my hand at acrylics but ...... I couldn't be that good.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day
Bishopsmate #91
Aww thanks Christine, I too adore trees ;D
DeleteGood luck with your acrylic adventure and just remember it's all about the journey and as long as you are having fun and enjoy yourself in the process, then that's all that matters :D
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
WOW!!LOVE that tree Neesie.
ReplyDeleteHehe...thanks Judy,
DeleteI'm actually quite pleased with it myself which is very unusual ;D
Thanks for popping over and I'll do likewise asap.
In the meantime have fun! :D
Hi Neesie happy 4th
ReplyDeleteglad to see you still have crafty stuff, although you dont need much stuff to do your fab zentangles. Having said that the painted tree looks really different to the pen type ... love the colours.
thanks for sharing
janet #32
Hi Janet,
DeleteYep that's the beauty of zentangles isn't it...all you need is paper and pens. I painted this tree just by using my travel water colour kit, so I'm really pleased with the result.
It does make such a difference adding colour to the pen lines and I'm going to try other designs soon.
Thanks for visiting and I'll hopefully be able to pop over later today.
Have fun with the 4th WOYWW! :D
You coloured the tree!! It looks fabulous the colour really made a difference, even though it was gorgeous before. Still can't believe you're leaving (boo hoo). Happy 4th WOYWW and I'll write soon.
ReplyDeleteLuv Von.
Yes I did Von, LOL
DeleteI'm glad you like it...it does look so much better with colour doesn't it? Somehow an autumn drawing without the autumn colours just didn't seem right!
Hey...it's pouring with rain here and it's nearly dark enough to warrant turning on a lamp at 4pm, so the UK is going to be fine! It's so kind of Melbourne to turn off that fantastic autumn weather we've been having for the past few weeks! It'll help me get on that plane...well we'll see...I'm not promising anything just yet! ;D
Happy 4th WOYWW to you too sweetie...yep I'll write soon too.
Enjoy the rest of the week and have a wonderful weekend...whatever you have planned. xoxo
Beautiful zentangles once again. I love the pictures you have been posting. Wondered where you had disappeared to! I am glad I am not having to move cause we have been in the same house 25 years and I am sure my unnecessary junk has created more junk. It would be traumatizing to move! Thanks for sharing. Happy 4th Anniversary WOYWW! HOpe you have a great week. Vickie #14
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th Anniversary WOYWW to you too Vickie,
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. It's great to see you again.
You have been static for the last 25 years whilst I've been gallivanting the globe...sometimes I think I'd like to have stayed in the one place, having lots of junk around me. We have a clearing session every time we move, but sometimes that can be difficult to do. I'm not very good at it...but my hubby is! Sometimes too good! ;D
Have fun this weekend whatever you get up to :D
It is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAww thanks ;D
DeleteSorry to have taken so long to reply to your comment.
I'll be on my rounds later today...the rain is pouring down here, so it's just perfect for visiting everyone's desks!
See you soon :D
Your art is amazing, just beautiful. Good luck with your move i hope you will be happy in your new home. My son also celebrated turning 21 this week, where does the time go.
ReplyDeletehappy WOYWW4
Gill x #132
Oh thank you Gill for your kind comment. I really appreciate it.
DeleteIt's always great to get feedback especially when it's so positive ;D
Belated congratulations to your son for his 21st! It is frightening where the time goes. My daughter informs me that she's 28 but I just don't believe her! Well I'm only 19 (:O)
Happy 4th WOYWW to you too ~ Have fun :D
Hey Neesie, so glad to see you on WOYWW I must say I have been a bit lacksadaisical in blog commenting, though I have popped in to see what you have been up to, now and then. I was just talking about you and your beautiful Zentangle art work at dinner this evening, and here is another stunning piece.I hope you have a safe journey back to the UK and will keep an eye out for your next post. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHappy Zentangling
Hugs Lottie #92
Hi there Lottie,
DeleteGreat to see you again ;D
I've been very lackadaisical too with one thing and another lately. I can't really see things settling down either until at least September, but then who knows? I suppose it makes life more interesting eh?
I can't imagine you taking about me at dinner but I'm very flattered by your lovely comments on my drawings.
I just wish I could find more time but I suppose with moving from one country to another and all that entails, I'm amazed I've even managed what I have!
Thanks for stopping by and I'll pop across to you as soon as I can, to see what you've been up to.
In the meantime have fun and enjoy your weekend :D
I’m sorry to be late in visiting but I’m still on my quest to get round everyone this week. I know it’s going to take some time, but I wanted to say that it’s amazing that the internet can bring together so many likeminded people and I’m grateful that WOYWW has also brought along so many new friends, thanks to Julia.
ReplyDeleteI’m not surprised you not been around recently with so much going on Nessie. I hope your move goes smoothly for you. Loving that beautiful tree, the colours are stunning.
Enjoy your weekly snoop, especially as we’re celebrating WOYWW’s 4th Anniversary.
Happy Crafting!
Sue @82

It is amazing isn't it Sue...but please don't apologise to me for being late. I'm the world's worst at the visiting, even though I try so hard to get to as many as I can. Sadly I've never managed more than half of the desks even with the best intentions. It's such a huge success and such a credit to Julia but with the numbers growing I know I could never tick the whole list. :D
DeleteThanks for your lovely kind comments on my tree and your good wishes for our move.
I'll pop over to see your desk later. Have a great weekend whatever you have planned ;D
OMGosh! Your tree is even better lookin' with color!! Marvelous!
ReplyDeleteHow long will it be before you leave Melbourne?
I hope you get a new laptop soon so you are spared the germs and distractions of the motley assortment of folks at the library. ;)
Yeah I think so too Rita,
DeleteI knew that I'd have to revisit and add the colour because that's what makes autumn/fall isn't it? The colours!
We leave Melbourne early next month so there's still time to cram lots of things in before then.
I've now got a laptop to use so no worries as they say here but thanks for your concern. ;D
Love the tree both in black/white and in color. I admire the fact that you continue creating in the midst of all the shake up moving has to include.
ReplyDeleteDarla
I think it's keeping me sane Darla...or as near to sane as I can be ;D
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a lovely comment.
I can pretend that everything's normal a midst the ciaos!
Enjoy your weekend whatever you get up to...have fun :D
Wow, Neesie, that is some autumn coloured tree! Well done. Trust all your hopes, dreams and plans come together for the big move back to UK. Every blessing.
ReplyDeleteMargaret #70
Thank you so much for your lovely comment both on my tree and the move ahead Margaret. I really appreciate it.
DeleteThanks for popping by and I'll do likewise soon. In the meantime have a great week ;D
Lovely colours and pattern! Your zentangles are always so intricate.
ReplyDeleteI hope things settle for you soon...Sept is a long ways away but with a pen and ink, maybe it will go faster than you think!
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment. I find doodling very relaxing so enjoy creating the designs. I'm sure I'd find painting far more stressful ;D
DeleteI plan to try to keep sane through all the madness and I know that art will be there like a trusty friend :D
Thanks for stopping by...have a great week!
