Well hello all you lovely WOYWWer's out there...
(which for anyone visiting who doesn't know what 'WOYWW' stands for...
...its the brainchild of Julia over at Stamping Ground.
Everyone shows their work desk each week and it's creations for all to enjoy.
The only trouble is for me I've nothing to share this week except my temporary desk.
I've been missing from the Wednesday gang for many weeks due to moving from one side of the planet to the other (Melbourne Australia to Scotland - yeah very similar aren't they?) But hopefully now that we've unpacked or at least looked into the 120 packing boxes, I'll be able to get back to some artwork soon.
I've missed it so much! :(
I thought I'd possibly left my mojo back in Melbourne but thankfully it's been constantly trying to catch my attention.
I just need to set aside some time...in fact I've sneaked on here now when I should be doing lots of other tedious tasks. Shh...no-one will know if I keep my key tapping to a minimum.
So with that in mind, I'll just show you my temporary desk...well kitchen table really. I've a room that will be converted into a studio that I'll show you soon which is a very exciting thought.
I know the tablecloth hasn't been ironed...so sue me! As I say I've been busy!
I'll be creating some thank you cards soon, so hopefully by next week I'll have some art to share with you. :D
I'll also be writing Part 2 of the Scottish Castle Wedding hopefully later today, if you were visiting to catch the follow on ~ my apologies.
It is nearly ready for the publish button so don't go far...well except to visit all the other artists/crafters desks at What's on your Workdesk that is.
Have fun everyone ~ enjoy!
Lovely to hear you have landed in Scotland and what a gorgeous view from your kitchen table. Quite different from Melbourne. Looking forward to future posts of your lovely artwork.
ReplyDeleteSandra @46
It is a very different view from Melbourne Sandra...but one I'm enjoying. Heaven knows if I'll feel the same in the midst of winter but we'll see ;D
DeleteI'm so desperate to get back to my art so fingers crossed you won't have too long a wait.
Thanks for stopping by.
It's great to see you again...enjoy WOYWW!
xoxo
Who cares about the tablecloth????:) Gorgeous view! Happy WOYWW!!
ReplyDeletePrecisely my thoughts Evalila (what a beautiful name by the way)
DeleteI also see that you've become my latest follower which has me doing my little happy dance! ;D
Thanks so much for that and I hope that I can nip across to visit you soon.
Enjoy your WOYWW visits :D
Evalila, I've tried to send you an email copy but it keeps bouncing back. I'm not sure why but will pop over to visit you soon.
DeleteNessie hello
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you back in the fold ... I have missed your lovely art work... Although I do look at your calendar hanging in my craft room to remind me .... Welcome back to blighty old girl!!! ( must add your not old)
Jackie 29
Scrapbangwallop
Aww thanks Jackie,
DeleteI've missed everyone from WOYWW too ;D
Thanks for the welcome back...it's very surreal being back in our house after so long.
But it does feel that's it's a good decision.
OLD ME?!!? Never! lol
Enjoy your WOYWW visits and I'll try to get to see what you've been up to soon
xoxo
What a super view. You mean, we are supposed to iron table cloths? Needless to say I only iron the necessities so don't you worry about it! Glad you are settling back into UK life. We'll have to catch up soon. Take care Zo xx 72
ReplyDeleteIt is rather special isn't it Zo,
DeleteI'm hoping that we have the lambs come into the field early next year, as we did one year when we last lived here. We had so much fun watching all the antics from the comfort of our lounge.
Although I'm not sure what Muffy would think of that? ^..^
Table cloth still isn't ironed but do I care? Nah!
I'd rather try to use the time on other things...hopefully arty things!
Thanks for stopping by...oh I've just noticed you've changed your photo.
Catch up soon but in the meantime have fun with WOYWW!
xoxo
Lol yep a new summer pic. Me in a dress. A rare sight indeed!! Fab to see you over mine. Tc xx
DeleteMy pleasure Zo...just wish I had more time to visit more often.
Deletexoxo
Welcome back Neesie! I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of a task you have on your hands in relation to creating / renovating a garden.
ReplyDeleteHi Mark...oh yes there's going to be big projects ahead, which I have to admit is a little daunting.
DeleteWe've got the well established mature garden to bring into line but also a whole area on the other side of the house which I'd like to devote to a veggie garden. Raised beds etc.
So it's going to keep me extremely busy...unless you're free for a little freelancing! LOL
I really don't know where to start on the veggie plot except to ask the farmer to swing on by with his tracker to turn it over and level it first! I think that would save months of back breaking work. Tatties by Christmas would be nice but we'll have to see.
Wish me luck ;D
You know just how much work lies ahead! :( But all rewarding hopefully.
Thanks for stopping by...I'll be in touch no doubt soon if only to ask your expert advice! LOL
Enjoy your week :D
So back to Scotland is that for good now?.. Your view is so wonderful look at those fields.. So much inspiration just outside for you there, will look forward to more of your wonderful tangle art.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Sandy :)#61
Never say never Sandy...but for now I never want to see another packing box! ;D
DeleteSeriously though we think our expat days are done. We'll be travelling but for fun and holidays in future.
It is a wonderful view isn't it. I find myself staring out of the window far too many times during the day!
My head hurts with all the inspiration jostling for attention, so I really need to get some of it out and soon! :D
Happy WOYWW to you to...enjoy desk hopping. I hope to start visiting later.
Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate it.
Have fun xoxo
what an amazing view from that window, you will create easily in that spot.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Laurie...if only I could find some time.
DeleteI'm just watching the rabbits running around the field having lots of fun...see what I'm up against?
They keep distracting me. It's not easy concentrating having so much to look at! ;D
Have a great week and I'll be over soon.
xoxo
I had to go back to the picture and look at the tablecloth after you said that, Neesie! If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed it! What a beautiful window, letting in so much light all around. Glad you've got back to the UK all right. It's so long since I've visited that I didn't even know you were on the move. We are moving too, and it makes our paltry 1/2 hour journey to the new house pale into insignificance compared with your move half way round the world!! My new ARTHaven is almost ready for me to fill with all my stuff and I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Shoshi #75
Oh me and my big mouth! ;D
DeleteIt is a great window just for the light aspect never mind the view.
It's been quite some time since we spoke (as it were) but I've been keeping a close eye on your move (I just didn't get the time to stop to comment etc sorry)
I certainly can understand you getting excited about your ARThaven. I'll possibly need your expertise when I'm sorting out my room.
Good Luck with it all although you're almost there now :D
Happy WOYWW to you too
xoxo
That is quite a move, Neesie! A gorgeous view, too. You know, I never would have noticed the tablecloth if you hadn't said anything. But it's funny, I have a "thing" about ironing them, I guess if they're on my own table, it's something I "see", but elsewhere, not really? Not sure why.
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry, we won't tattle about your computer time!
:)trisha
#17 this week
Grr...will I never learn to keep my mouth shut!!! ;D
DeleteBut I'm the same over bedding too. White cotton sheets and duvet covers have to be ironed otherwise it plays with my mind.
Thanks for keeping 'mum' on the computer time...I've sneaked back after a few hours away.
The boys are in the garage (sorry that should read...Nerve Centre!) so they don't know I'm here.
I just have to make sure I don't get carried away and delay dinner otherwise they'll know!
Have fun with WOYWW and I'll try to sneak over as soon as I can.
Thanks for stopping by xoxo
So what your tablecloth hasn't been iron, you should see my bedroom curtains. The wrinkles will fall out, eventually. Love the view from those window. Thanks for stopping by. happy crafting #1
ReplyDeleteLOL That's brilliant Regina and makes me feel so much better.
DeleteThe table cloth needs washing now so I can shed that now ;D
I love the view too and it's constantly changing. I'm going to take a photo on the first day of each month to show just how the weather, seasons and farmers work changes the landscape.
Happy crafting to you too...have a great week and enjoy WOYWW
WOW just noticed you're No1 (Impressed) :D
Thanks for popping over xoxo
I'm really so not envious about your moving ... I don't want to have to do this any more. I'm always saying that I'll moove only once in my life again, to Ireland or to my hometown :-) I know exactly what you are talking about missing the crafting. I nearly get withdrawals when I'm not able to do something for too long. Hopefully you'll have reorganized your stuff pretty soon. Suzanne #49
ReplyDeleteMe neither Grainne and that's why we've returned to the house we left many years ago. It's sort of home but after 24 years of being an expat it's difficult to know where home is.
DeleteI tend to think it's when all four of us are together in the same nest! ;D
I'm wondering where your hometown might be? In Ireland perhaps?
Yeah...I'm definitely getting withdrawals over not being able to do any art but I'm going to sort that soon...it's time enough! :D
Have fun with WOYWW and thanks for calling!
xoxo
Oh the light! Oh the possibilities..how marvellous. And frankly,it's a miracle that you've found a tablecloth..would have been the last thing on my mind! There's always so much to do after such a humongous move..but it will be worth it. And I always find my mojo goes into overdrive just as soon as I can't make time to do anything!
ReplyDeleteHey everyone Julia's in the house! ;D
DeleteIt's pretty good outlook isn't it? But remember it is Scotland so I'll need all the light I can find.
I'm glad you're impressed Julia because quite frankly I'm amazed too.
I feel I can just about see the tunnel now but not quite the light at the end...but we'll get there. There's no rush with timescales on this house. As far as I know we're going to be here for some time. Hubby is mentioning some great big projects so I can't see the removal van returning anytime soon.
My mojo is in overdrive right now and itching to get going so I'm trying to allocate some time over the weekend if not sooner.
Thanks so much for popping over...I know what a task you have trying to visit so many followers. Super woman has nothing on you!
Enjoy WOYWW and thanks for letting me back into the fold! :D
xoxo
That view has just taken my breath away - I love Scotland, its my dream to move there one day. Look forward to watching you build up your new studio when you get a chance.
ReplyDeleteLynda #82
Oh I'll have lots more views for you Lynda ;D
DeleteDid you manage to see my previous post on the Scottish Castle Wedding?
I've still got Part 2 to write but I can't seem to fit everything into my day right now.
I just wish I didn't need sleep!
Enjoy WOYWW and I'll see you soon.
xoxo
What a view with huge windows!! Can hardly wait to see your new creating room!! :)
ReplyDeleteMe neither Rita...if only I could get to it.
DeleteHaving said that I don't want to rush into it. I want to make sure that I get it right ;D
Have a great day whatever you get up to...see you soon
xoxo
Hi Neesie
ReplyDeletewith a view like that it's amazing you get anything done I would just be watching the seasons go by... maybe with a paintbrush in hand.... if I could paint
have a good week
janet #27
I think there's a serious danger of me doing just that Janet ;D
DeleteThere's always something to look at or catch the eye.
I don't think it will be just the tablecloth that will feel neglected.
Thanks for popping over to my temporary desk. It's great to see you again.
Have fun with WOYWW and I'll see you soon :D
xoxo
Blow ironing the tablecloth, Neesie. You have far too many other things to do - write, read, play....oh, yes, just a box or two to sort out. Oh well, another day will happen.....
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have got sufficiently sorted to come WOYWWing this week.
have a great one.
Margaret #68
Aww thanks Margaret, I like the sound of writing, reading and playing plus if I could squeeze in some artwork I'd certainly be a very happy bunny indeed! ;D
DeleteWe are definitely getting there...but it will take some time to have everything as we would like but there's no hurry.
Or not that I'm aware of anyway.
Thanks for stopping by...its great to see and hear from the WOYWWer's gang!
Enjoy desk hopping and I'll catch up with you soon
xoxo
What a great looking view from your kitchen table, I can see why your muse is trying to get your attention in such a peaceful setting. I hope your unpacking doesn't take to long and you are back creating soon. Happy WOYWW! Danie #14
ReplyDeleteHi Danie,
DeleteWell I'm happy to report the unpacking of boxes is done (although there's still boxes in a spare room, but I've peeped into them and their contents aren't needed just yet, so they can wait in storage for now) It's the other jobs that are on our tick list now...with returning to the house after so many years away there's quite a lot to tick! ;D
I will try to get to creating as soon as I can.
Thanks for visiting my temporary desk.
Happy WOYWW to you too
xoxo
Hah, I received this one today. I've re done the receive by email thing, it was probably going around the world before it got back to me. Hope it get's to me quicker now.
ReplyDeleteSo, down to business. I love the view you have but in all honesty, who irons table cloths these days. I couldn't tell you the last time I ironed one, they get what they get around here. Can't wait to take a peek into you new art room when it's done. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do art wise, you have so many things around you. Hey, how about a castle picture??
Have a great week, will talk soon.
Von.
Wow how clever Von...well done.
DeleteI'll try the same with the ones I receive ;D
I've been pleasantly surprised to hear so many people out there don't iron tablecloths! It's a real eye opener.
Next people will say they don't iron their bedding...HEAVEN FORBID!!!
I've taken a photo of the empty (art) room but there's some debate about whether it should be just an art room or study/library/office etc. That we'll share the room!!!
I KNOW that wasn't on my plan.
There's ongoing discussions and it's one that's not amusing me...he's got his garage (sorry that should read my hubby has got his 'Nerve Centre'!) so there shouldn't be any discussion at all as far as I'm concerned :/
Hmm...a castle picture...not sure I'm good enough or whether I'd be able to do that, but it's worth a thought. Thanks
Have a great week yourself whatever you get up to...I'll be across to take a peek soon. xoxo
I love your temporary workstation - and like the others have said, wow what a view! Hope those packing crates get unpacked soon and you can start to feel really settled. Helen 6
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen...we're getting there,
DeleteIt will just take time but I want to get it right so there's no hurry. Well not as far as I'm concerned anyway.
I'm hoping that by next week I might have a drawing at least to share.
Thanks for popping over to visit...it's great to be in touch with all of the gang again.
Have fun and Happy WOYWW to you :D
xoxo
Ironing tablecloths! Noooo, life is too short, it'll only get crumpled again anyway. ;) sorry for the late visit.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the late visit...it's perfect timing no matter when you pop by ;D
DeleteEspecially if you leave a comment that gives me just the excuse I need to not iron!
Have a great day and I'll visit you even later! lol
xoxo
What a great view!!! Can't wait to see your art when you're all unpacked! Thanks for stopping by!! Happy belated WOYWW!
ReplyDelete-tera #104
Hello there,
DeleteI have to confess I'm getting quite excited now because we are sort of organised and I'm going to draw tomorrow...no matter what!!! ;D
We've worked so hard in this first month that it's time for a little break and I CAN'T WAIT! (grinning like a Cheshire Cat ^..^)
Unbelievably Happy Belated WOYWW wishes to you too :D
Let's hope we have a creative week ahead
Thanks for popping by...I really appreciate it.
Ah, love the temporary "desk," Nessie! I would spend more time staring out the window than I would being crafty! Good luck with the unpacking and sneaking in some crafting. Life's too short to work too hard!! Happy Belated WOYWW and enjoy the rest of your week! Darnell #12
ReplyDeleteMuchious sneaking about to happen tomorrow Darnell...no matter what, but don't tell anyone! That's just between you and me.
DeleteI've got masses of 'thank you' cards to create and we've been here a month already so I need to get a wriggle on.
Hopefully I'm not going to be too distracted by the view but who knows ;D
Unbelievable Happy Belated WOYWW to you too...at least I've made it within the week but it was a close one!
Have fun :D
Ah, I remember it well! Actually, we only moved the relatively short distance from Rugby to Rhos-on-sea just over eighteen months ago now, but because we instantly felt so at home, it didn't take us long to unpack the essentials. Now, with a friend's help, we each have our own art space, a new shower room, and plenty of storage in the master bedroom.
ReplyDeleteLove the rural view out of your window - oh, and didn't notice the creases in the table cloth until you did!
Hope you get back to crafting soon, and welcome back to the UK,
kind regards,
john-w #77
Well we've returned to our 'old' house so we feel right at home too.
DeleteIt's just the 120 packing boxes that came back with us that was the problem...well they were, but thankfully they are more or less sorted now ;D
It sounds like you've been very busy in your new home John. We too have masses of plans but there's no hurry. I don't intend to move again...well not for the foreseeable future anyway.
Thank you for not noticing the creased table cloth...next time I'm not going to say a word.
Tomorrow is the day...YAY! I'm going to create some 'thank you' cards and I can't wait. Oh boy have I missed my art.
Thanks for stopping by and your warm welcome back.
I hope you have a great creative week ahead.
Maybe see you at the next WOYWW :D
ironing...what's that? I wear jeans and tshirts most the time and I definitely don't iron them. My goodness what an awesome view from your window! I remember reading you were moving back but I think I have been gone off and on all summer and not making rounds really well myself. Glad to see you settling in! Thanks for sharing. Sorry I am so late getting around this week but I am making it around finally! Hope you had a great weekend! Vickie #36
ReplyDeleteHehe...I like that Vickie (what's ironing?) ;D
DeleteOh how I wish I was never shown how to do it!
Hey don't apologise to me for being late...I'm the world's worst! I haven't been able to visit half of the people I wanted to. The day just gets swallowed up in big chunks right now. But I'm beginning to sneak some time for what I want to do and drawing is one of them.
I finally got to draw yesterday for an hour or so. It was so fantastic to get back to it.
It's not ideal to be on the table as I have to keep putting everything away, but I'm prepared to do that...I've been there before ;D
The weekend was great thanks...I hope you had a good time too.
Hopefully you're having a productive week and I'll nip across to see what you've been up to soon :D
xoxo
It's lovely to travel but it's always just as lovely to come home again. Welcome home! LOVE the view, different yes, but just as lovely. Great to have you back, have fun prepping your new room.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Brenda 3
Well travelling for 24 years certainly had it's good but also it's bad points Brenda...but as you say it's so nice to think that's it. It's time to settle down. Home at last although I'm not sure if this is home or not.
DeleteThank you for your welcome message anyway. It's very surreal but it does feel right.
I'm still on the kitchen table and probably will be for some time to come. I'd rather spend the time drawing as my free time is so precious and limited just now. I'm lucky because I mostly use limited supplies like pencils and pens, so it's not too bad.
I think the meaty stuff will come when winter arrives. Hopefully not yet for a while. I don't want to rush moving into the new room.
I hope you've had a great weekend and an even better week so far
xoxo
I've just been looking at all your lovely wedding photo's that really was a lovely setting, gorgeous castle! Realise you're very busy, so popped into 'this weeks' woyww instead of... this weeks... you are right! I haven't been getting around so much lately and commenting, as I've just been soooo busy doing 'stuff'!! The view from your above window is lovely, it's a wonder you get any crafting done!! Thanks for the visit over to my blog, have a great crafty week, and a very late woyww!
ReplyDelete(Lyn)
Hello Spyder ;D
DeleteI hope to be busy doing stuff too but at the moment I'm finding it really difficult. I'm thinking that I'm going to allocate one day of the week where I'll devote to doing something arty.
That way I might actually get something done instead of doing everything else first! The art always seems to be pushed back for everything else.
The window is a distraction but maybe it's an inspiration too.
Enjoy your weekend xoxo
