Counting chocolate calories (WOYWW)

Just a quickie this morning to show what's on my work desk (WOYWW) this morning.
I'm loading this on my kindle, so I'm hoping it will work okay...
keeping my fingers crossed... so far so good...

As you can see I finally finished my chocolate bar.
In fact, I finished it off in more ways than one.
I devoured it!
Well in my defence, it was a little tricky so what's a girl to do... obviously eat chocolate.
Well in my book it is obvious (any excuse)
It's amazing just how much detail there are in everyday objects if you just look closely.
For instance, I'd never have known that there were (note past tense) over 500 calories in this bar!
THAT'S OVER FIVE HUNDRED!!!
And I ate them all (groan)
So now that I know this horrendous detail I'm going to link to Julia's Stamping Ground blog then go for a jog/gym session/ triathlon/marathon or whatever it takes to get rid of those 500 calories!
Have fun and hopefully I'll see you again soon.

    1. Thank you Evalila,
It was a little more challenging than I wanted but I'm happy I gave it a go.
Now I've just got to get rid of those calories

  2. Great details on your painting Nessie, of course you had to eat the chocolate so the wrapper would lay flat... Happy WOYWW RobynO#25

    1. Now why didn't I think that... you are so clever Robyn,
It's well and truly flat now!
      Happy WOYWW to you too

  3. Ha! Beautiful painting. You can't really leave that hung on the wall, it will make you crave chocolate constantly!
I'm just looking at your Aberdeen weather widget beside your page. It says 'No weather'. Well I hope you have weather and that it is very nice.
    Have a great week,

    1. You're right there Lisca, if I had the painting in my eye line all day, I dread to think how much chocolate I would have to eat.
I've hung it on the studio wall... the wall that doesn't face me at the moment.
I checked my weather widget and it seems to be working. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you... other than it was atrocious weather and maybe they thought it best to hide it!
The day has actually improved as it's gone on. I've actually got sunlight streaming in through the window now and it's 8.15pm.
I hope you have a great week too.
Thanks for popping by my place... I hope to see you again soon.

  4. Hi Neesie, wow, that is stunning! Shame the shock of the calorie count slipped in there, lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #13 xxx

    1. I thought it was very sneaky Shaz... I hadn't a clue about the calories before painting it. I don't tend to think about calories. If I did I'd be constantly hungry I'm sure. Even the mention of the word 'diet' and I'm starving.
I hope you have a great week too.

  5. This is stunning. How shocking that such a delicious thing should be so full of calories...I am convinced that they are measuring lettuce leaves wrong and it should be the other way round...#22

    1. I think it's very cruel to have hidden calories like that Belinda,
No you may have something there with the lettuce leaves... maybe we should let the right people know. You are so t'elligent ;D
      Have fun.

  6. Hi Neesie, what an amazing painting of a wonderful subject. I'm so glad you enjoyed your chocolate before you read the number of calories. Looking at your picture I could actually smell chocolate. Have a lovely week. Barb #27 xx

    1. Oh so am I Barb, because if I'd have seen the count before eating most of it... it would have spoilt the rest. There's no question that I would have suffered and carried on eating it though.
I'm trying hard not to think too much about eating chocolate as I reply to everyone here tonight, but I know there's a wee bar chilling in the fridge if I get desperate.
I wish you a lovely week too.

  7. Wow - at first glance, without reading properly, I thought it was 2 real bars. Shame the one has so many calories - but a girl has to do what a girl has to do - suffer for your art! A stunning little work of art Neesie. x Jo

    1. Aww bless you Jo,
You're so right about a girl having to do what she has to do, because it was tricky to paint and nibbling on the chocolate helped.
The shock came later when I did the lettering and found the calorie count!
Oh well too late now eh?
I wish you a great creative week

  8. Gosh, that chocolate bar is looking delicious. Thank GOD I ordered a little one in the groceries today or I'd be cursing you for showing me something I can't have. Ahhh, I love cheat days!!! Hugs my friend. (Oh, I meant YOUR chocolate bar is looking delicious, not the actual chocolate bar, although it always looks delicious too. *Jenn rolls eyes because of her addiction* ;o)

    1. It was Jenn, (was being the operative word)
I always have to have a bar in the fridge. Sometimes I have it for a few days too... it's just if there's none there then I get very tetchy.
Oh my... I really do have a problem don't I?
I think all my days are cheat days!
Have a great creative week and I'm thinking about mango next... enough of chocolate. Go for a healthier option ;D

  9. Brilliant Neesie, love the painting. You need those calories when you are being crafty. I am alright with a bar of chocolate in the house until I open it and then! well that's it really.... gone! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 30

    1. Hmm... I am thinking I must paint again because I have the urge to eat more chocolate Angela. Maybe I should paint a Dairy Milk bar just to balance things out a little. (I've got to come up with some excuse so that I can eat more)
I'm okay if I know there's some chocolate in the fridge... but if there isn't... then everybody around me gets very nervous.
I apologise for taking so long to reply to your lovely comment. I'm having to play catch up as usual.
I hope your week is going well and just gets better.

  10. Your painting is fabulous. It looks as yummy as the real thing. Chocolate has medicinal qualities, that's my excuse for eating it anyway :) Just come here and you'll shiver so much you'll work off those calories in no time.

    1. Ah yes... the medicinal card. Yep I'll play that one... thanks Vonny ;D
If shivering uses up calories then over the last few months I should be deficit!
      Luv you too xoxo

    1. I'm still reeling with the news Sandra de... in fact I came across one of her emails tonight that really gave me a jolt. It's incredibly sad to read now that I know she's no longer there. It certainly makes me want to appreciate and make the most of every minute.
I hope your week is going well.

  13. Hey, always fun to visit you Neesie and a real treat when chocolate is on offer... I'd not have been able to guess which is the real packet and which is your painting, which in my book means we have a whole bar each - perfect, we'll not mention the 500 calories shall we?

    1. Unfortunately Wren... I'd have offered you some but it seems to have disappeared along with another three bars since then. Not as large as this one I hasten to add but they've gone nevertheless!
I really tried to loosen up on the painting (as Tracey instructed in her class) but I have difficulty doing that otherwise you'd have no problem in seeing which was painted. I prefer the real one!!!
      What calories????
