My Sunday Photo... Summer's arrived.

Today felt like the first day of summer.
Herons flying overhead towards the river, the swallows have returned and best of all, there's new life in some of our bird boxes, all accompanied by the sound of buzzing from busy bees going about their business.
We enjoyed warm sunshine, appreciated the perfumed blooms and even enjoyed sitting outdoors eating an ice-cream.
Sometimes there's even a reward at the end of the day of a beautiful sunset.

Now it's time to link up 'My Sunday Photo' with Photoalife once again.
Thanks for popping into my place. I hope you have a great Sunday.

  1. It's been similarly summery here. We had the most amazing sunset here, with the sun huge and orange in the sky.

    1. Same here Darren and it's still happening. I just hope that this isn't the way the whole of the summer will be. I need some warmth.

    1. The trouble is that the early day patterns have carried on and it's one day sun and three of rain accompanied with a chilly wind!

  7. Hi Neesie, you've painted a picture of the perfect summers day. Our swallows were a little late coming back this year, despite us having a mild winter, I'm guessing there was bad weather on their journey.

The photo is beautiful and the perfect ending to a summers day.

    1. I shouldn't have mentioned the swallows Debbie, because they've disappeared now. We had three days of really good summer weather, but then it turned back to the usual, cold, grey wet days.
Oh I really need some summer, but times marching on. I really hope that those three days weren't our summer!

    1. Well I'm glad I took that photo Sarah because we've hardly had any sunsets since then. The weather really hasn't been good. I just hope we manage to squeeze in a little more heat before summers over.

    1. Oh dear Wren... I think the few days of warmth we had were possibly our summer. I think you may be clad in wellies and waterproofs by now. Apologies, but you know what the UK weather can be like. It's a lucky dip!

    1. Unfortunately it didn't last Rita. We're back in the land of grey, wet and windy weather. It really needs to buck up if this is supposed to be summer. I'm not impressed!

  11. You describe it so beautifully. It was blissfully hot here today. Not too sweltering but just right for a nice summery day!
