What's On Your Workdesk? (WOYWW)

I hope I don't have to apologise every week for not getting to visit you all, but I'm afraid I'm having to this week...seriously but where does the time fly?
As well as seriously indulging in eating out numerous times this last week, I did manage to sneak into the studio and produced two new line drawings, doodles, zentangles or whatever you like to call them.
I know my desk is still looking so bare, but I hope to slowly fill it...I'm not wanting to rush and frighten away my new found creativity ; D
There's also lots of cupboard space, so I may be able to keep organised and tidy...LOL yeah right!

I thought I'd transform some of my own photographs this week....so although some of you who follow me already may have seen them before, but I hope you don't mind.
The rosebud was taken outside my bedroom window and the hibiscus is actually a cutting taken only last season and resides down the side path in a pot at the moment, yet to be planted into the garden.

I'm quite happy with the hibiscus but I wasn't sure if the rosebud was finished or not...I decided to leave well alone. That's the hardest part actually, knowing when to stop!
It's just as important to have the clear, white, blank area's as it is to have the patterned.
Here's the original photos...

I'm hoping to enlarge my garlic drawing in the coming week to an A3 size. I have just the place for it in the kitchen and thought it might be ideal for that space. Black or white mount with black frame?
I'll let you see it if I get that far...

So if you haven't a clue what I'm on about or visited What's on your workdesk Wednesday or WOYWW before, then nip across and visit Julia over at  http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/  Take a peek at an incredible amount of interesting idea's, creativity and a whole great bunch of arty people! It's fun....

Thank you for your visit here today and I hope you come back soon. Next time I'll pop the kettle on....
Enjoy :D

  1. Hi Neesie,

Lovely drawings of your flowers. I think they are both finished. Not sure about the mount or frame colours. Love to see what you decide. Happy WOYWW! RosA#29

Thank you for popping by. I think I may agree with you that they are finished, but yesterday I wasn't as sure. Thank goodness I put the pen down.
      Have a great WOYWW :D

  2. I love them both but the hibiscus is my favourite I think! I had them growing all down my path in my villa in Saudi and loved to photograph them and your zentangle doodle thingy is stunning. Annette #11

    1. Hi Annette, (in a hushed voice)...I think I like the hibiscus the best too ;)
When I read you'd lived in Saudi, I thought isn't it a small world because I lived in Qatar before moving here.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment :D

  5. That's a rampant hibiscus if ever I saw one!!! Seriously though, I could live with that on my walls, so if you ever decide to do prints..... :)
You inspired me to do some artwork of my own this week but it's not really zentangles, but I've always preferred black and white patterns like celtic knotwork far more than coloured images!

    1. Well this particular plant is only a small cutting...I have a real rampant double headed hibiscus nearby...maybe there in competition with each other?
I'm beginning to think maybe I should do prints! I'm thrilled with everyone's reaction to them :D
I'm also pleased to have inspired you because that is the ultimate compliment...have fun ;D

I think it would take years and bags of money to full my desk to the level that some of the ladies have out there...
I'm not sure if we'll be staying in this house after July, so I'll have to be careful.
I hate to tell you that the little drawers that you're loving aren't really drawers. They do have a self area inside but they are vents. I'll try to remember to photograph them to show and tell next week. Other's have mentioned them too.
Thanks for keeping all the creativity flowing with your inspired host idea.
      Happy WOYWW:D

  20. What a stunning photo of that rose. I think your finished hibiscus is beautiful, but the rose is a much harder task, something to do with the firmness of the rose bud. All you can do is to satisfy yourself and be happy with your work. If I could do as well as you, I would be very happy. I think we are all learning all the time - when you stop learning is the moment you die (or should be). Thank you for your visit and your lovely comments about our new stamp. 24. Wow Neesie, I absolutely ADORE your artwork... It is totally stunning. I gasped out loud! Also your studio is totally gorgeous. Fair lifted my spirits to see your fabulous photos!!!

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. Yes, I've got a fair amount of stuff, haven't I!! I've been into crafting and art all my life and some of my stuff goes way back, but a lot of the paper art stuff is fairly recent (about 2 years). It will be a lot easier to get organised once I've got rid of all the redundant cardboard boxes and clutter! Too tired to do any more today as we've been out with Mum and Dad.

Yes, my chair is lovely. I suffer from M.E. and my O.T. told me I should get a comfy chair, when I said I couldn't sit in there for long, and it really does help - lots of support, and it swivels, and I can shunt myself around on it without getting up, so it's great! If I'm not well enough to be in there, I'm on the settee which is also an electric recliner, and can get my legs up, and be on the laptop, knit, or whatever, usually with a kitty on my legs!

I googled M.E. because I have to admit I wasn't sure what it was exactly. It sounds really debilitating and I now know why you would need that comfy chair.

So glad that you popped by to say hello :D
